Mercurial the sorc is currently kicking butt in Act 3. Her strategy so far has been to freeze enemies with Ice Blast, then run in and pound them with Enchant while they are frozen. She's wielding a "Steel" flail and also found 2/3 items of Civerb's set (shield, ammy).

She's doing great so far. Because of her ability to totally immobilize enemies at will, she's actually one of the safer melee chars I've played, though her melee damage isn't all that impressive yet. I expect to make it into NM without any issues.

I am entering another Assasin! I really really enjoy the class and my Zon (level 14) is goign on the backburner. I have a pretty good bit of time on my hands so we'll see what happens.

I almost died going through the Underground Passage.. I did not detect the cold enchanted monster and he exploded really close to me.. I was SO close to dying.. luckily I am still in this tournement :)
 
Well before the squid ate up my post, i had entered a new character, a sorceress, by the name of Thunderlia. I have chosen the lightning tree to be the one opened, just to be cheesy and make a fully synergised lightning sorc :D
I got her underway, and now she is level 14. A level 11 charged bolt just kicks so much butt. It's very powerful though i'm not sure whether i should level that or lightning.

Rocking out on players 8 again. Things are going well, still no uniques or greenies though. But I did gamble up some nice Blade Talons. Will be doing the gamble for Ciclets thing soon, hopefully I get lucky!

I found some time to play yesterday and finished A3 and A4. River of flame proved more difficult than expected... I'm missing a few synergies ;) Well, for nightmare I see quite some options, but in hell it's going to be tough (if I don't die before, of course).
 
Quite a ways into Norm act 5, now. Not too many problems. However, I haven't done Nilhatak, in ages. Let's just say years. So, that was a re-learning, filled with trepidation. No problems there. They did nerf his CE, right? I tried to stay clear of any corpses, but I got nipped by one CE, and it didn't do too much.

Found a Hawkmail in my latest journey, but alas, my merc is using it, for the time being. I might be in NM, if I don't find a good Rhyme worthy shield first! Heck, I'm sure I'll steal it from him vs Baal, being he won't live long. Nice to not be frozen. That slowed me down a lot vs Diablo, and it's only worse vs Baal.

Mercurial is still cruising through Normal. She is level 32 and just killed Diablo.

She found The Chieftain (unique Battle Axe) and decided the risk of playing without a shield was worth it to wield this fine weapon. An 2h axe-swinging sorc is VERY stylish, I absolutely had to make it my avatar. She also found Duskdeep (u Full Helm) in the Plains of Despair.

Had one close call during the Diablo fight, when he trapped me in a Bone Prison. My Ice Blast was not quick enough to destroy the Prison before D firestormed me...quaffed a full rejuv and was able to get out safely.

When I first signed up I registered that I had the RRM, however, it turns out that I do not have it set up, and haven't had it set up since I started.

So far it has been a breeze, I've had no troubles whatsoever, and have been mfing act 1 superuniques and andy trying to find a deaths sash, or anything else useful, since I found the gloves somewhere awhile ago.
 
Great progress for my duo. I did find another Ith rune, already in Lower Kurast. Isolde´s IthIthIth bow was very good a that stage. Amped Tree Lurkers died in 2 hits.

Bremm Sparkfist had Conviction, and that scared us quite a bit. Decrepify made me able to keep the distance from him.

Mephisto took a while to kill, because I forgot to bring the Static Circlet that session. It was just a matter of patience, because I used a cheesy tactic. Take that!


Act 4 definately brought a change of pace. I Amped only a select few monster types, namely Doom Knights and finger mages. Everything else, I Dimmed. Why? That shuts up all special attacks the monsters have.

* Venom Lords, etc. breathe fire, which is dangerous and annoying. After a while I found a 29% Ruby Grand Charm of Inceneration, which brought up the fire reistance to 75%. Their firebreath was still annoying, so I kept Dimming them.
* Corpulents move around, back away and come back, look for corpses. If they eat it they gain a good portion of life, as well as gain a "missile". All that fuss is annoying. Dim them!
* Abyss Knights fire their projectiles, which is annoying.
* Spawners spawn, which is very annoying.

So I Dimmed the crap out of them. That made Isolde´s shots much less powerful than with Amp or Decrepify. So Mark entered the fray a lot here, adding some damage and Open Wounds. He had to repair his flail countless times...

Hellforge gave a perfect ruby and a Tal. Not too shabby.

I put on some lightning resist jewelry against Diablo and drank a bunch of Thawing potions before the fight. I went with /p3 against him. The preferred fighting position is shown here: Diablo facing away from Isolde. He didn´t even manage to kill her, only hit her with a few Flame Novas. The half dozen Greater Healers I had in Mark´s inventory along with the three in his belt were enough to last through the whole fight! Decrepify is an awesome skill against single targets.

Took Thunderlia out for another spin, and finished Act 1. LIghtning and charged bolt are very strong, but require so much (10 and 7 respectively) on a small mana pool of 80. I'm not too keen on making a 3 socket sapphire helm and armour, as i want to use stealth runeword and so far, my helm provides me with nice lit and fire resists. Can't wait till i can make a insight runeword for my prayer merc.
At the moment, my resists are survivable, ~50 for fire and lit, and 20 for the other two. Been running countess and she is refusing to give me my much needed eth runes. I've had 5 tals drop amazingly enough, but not a single eth.

Done for the night. Moved further along in act 5, and fared pretty well. Even took out the Ancients, without too much trouble, after forgetting to go to players 1 :eek: . Not very much found at all, besides my second Axe of Fechmar. Real helpful.

@ Immortal_Slayer: be careful of relying on Insight for your mana troubles. Mana regeneration is dependent on the mana pool you have to start with. My HC singing barb had a huge mana pool (around 2K), and his merc's insight made the regeneration insane. But I tried it on my javazon, and the effect is much smaller... better than nothing, but not miraculous. With a pool of 80 mana, you might not notice much at all.

Einbaum has defeated Baal, and moved on to NM (well, first he has some cows to kill ;) ).

Not much of an update, but being it was the death of big bad Baal, here it is. Not really too bad of a fight, except when my Shadow died, and my mana ball had been emptied. Used quite a few pots and Full Rejuvs, and had to portal to revive the merc once. Didn't help that the double was there from the start. But, we survived. Drops: Chance Guards! And, a Jade Tan Do, along with a fairly nice rare Gladius.

@Skunkbelly: Thanks for the tip! But i wasn't really thinking of being able to make an insight till around act 4 or 5 when sols finally appear. By that time, i think my sorc would have around 200 + mana. Once my strength goes up, i'll be able to pump 1 into energy every level.

So.. I have found two Crainte Vomir espandons today.. one is eth and the other is not.. the eth gives more damage.. but is eth.. so which should I put in the prize stash? Or should I put in both??
