I'd like to enter with a Sorc, since they are underrepresented. I am going to specialize in the Cold tree, with Enchant/melee as a backup skill.

I know using teleport is off-limits, but can I put points in Telekinesis for the ES bonus, since this would be a "passive" effect?

Off I go to start my char...

I'm really gonna push your powers of imagination with this one.

(Scene: An advertisement appears on your television. The screen is black, except for a backlit doorway at the far end, where a bright white light is shining. A silhouette stands in the doorway, too indistinct to pick out detail. It starts walking towards camera, and a low bassnote-kick drum note is played, whilst semi-transparent text appears on the screen.)

(The first word is Andariel. You can here the sounds of a crowd cheering in the background. The silhouette has come close enough that you can see It as three distinct people, one with a quhab and shield, one with a scissor katar and cestus, and one with a poleaxe.)

(The first word fades, and the second word, Duriel, appears. Once more, the sound of a crowd cheering is heard in the background, as well as the distinct sound of a boxing bell being struck three times. The silhouette is close enough that the three figures are clearly Belladonna, Neeraj, and Shadow Master)

(The second word fades, and the third word, Mephisto, is displayed. Once more the sound of a crowd is heard, louder than before, and you can here a commentator say, "It is over, Belladonna has won" before it fades out. BD, N and SM are close enough that you can clearly see the shield she is carrying is Stormguild)

(The third word fades, and the fourth (and final) word, Diablo, is displayed. THis time the sound is of a crowd giving one big cheer, and being in an uproar, and a slightly more deamonic commentator saying, "I can't believe it, She's beaten Diablo, it is indeed a dark and cold day in hell!" The trio are so close to the camera that you can see the venom dripping off BD's blade. The pulsating music that has been playing comes to a climax, and BD appears to stab the camera with her quhab. The screen goes to static, and the text "Belladonna v Baal, only available on play per view" appears on the screen. End ad)

Sadly, I have to report my first HC death.
It happened at level 56 to a LE extra fast Apparition pack in the True Tomb. Why you ask? Pure stupidity... If you try to portal park a nasty pack, you should ensure that you take the WP back and not the TP.
Well deserved death. :)

hmmm....it's neither dutch nor an assasin, but it is a comic and a girl. Can we agree on 2/4th of a cookie? :)
Have to google that myself...

Another Death

Sadly, I must report another death. Lotus, my Shadowsin, was killed by an Abyss Knight on the River of Fire, Act IV.

Fortunately, she was soft-core so she will live to fight again -but not in this tourney I'm afraid.

Its been a blast!

Must retire for the evening, but made some more progress. Pretty good progress, at that. Through the Kurasts, through the sewers, and all of the dungeons in the Kurasts, through the Council, through the Durance, and Mephisto's own close up council(fairly close call there), and finally, through Mephisto himself. Some problems, as I had to use my full rejuvs vs his council, and ran out of health pots. I think Fade wore off, so the elements were hurting me more. But, luckily, there had been health pots left laying around his Durance level, so I did a circle, and came back for the kill. My merc finished him off, before he breathed his own dying breath due to the poison. Fairly nice drops, as Mephisto dropped Sigon's Gage gauntlets, and Death's Touch war sword. Also, one of his council dropped the Face of Horror mask for me. So, not bad at all.

Next up, act IV, tomorrow night.

(scene: A press conference. The room looks like all the others, except with the back wall knocked out. A large crowd of barbarians stadns out the back, waving banners and starting chants. At least one epic is being sung with the name of the origional hero being substituted by "Belladonna". Above the stage, there is a banner which reads, "Harrogath welcomes Destroyer Belladonna". When BD, N, and SM walk onto the stage and sit behind the desk, there is a massive roar from the assembled barbarians, which continues for a full 5 minutes. BD agnowledges the crowd with a wave.)

BD: Thanks for coming, I wasn't quite anticipating this reception!

Press: Ugg Uggson, Arreat Reporter. That was great victory, Belladonna, how do you feel?

BD: Just a bit battered, but otherwise, I'm over the moon. Baal was smart enough to go for me in preferance to my Shadow master or Neeraj, so I had to use my super's, but I survived.

Press: O. Difereous, Skunkingham Times. Your fans know that you've never had such success in hardcore play before. Tell me, are you feeling the pressure, and if so, how are you dealing with it?

BD: I'm not thinking about it, really. I mean, It's not like I'm going somewhere my friend, Matriach Frosty, hasn't been before, I just intend to die less. And besides, when I go, at least someone will be getting some halfway decent loot.

Press: Keri Trefoil, Kurast Tribune. You sounded a bit resentful there, I take it you are still less than satisfied with the prize pool from that bout?

BD: Less than satisfied comes nowhere close to where I am. Appalled. Thats the only word I can use to describe it, at least, the only word you can print.

Press: Kurt Schnider, Westmarch Times. What makes you think you can succede where so many others have failed?

BD: Pardon?

(The scene suddenly changes. Instead of the summit of Arreat, the conference is just BD, N, and SM standing in front of a half dozen reporters in the Rogue Encampment. Obviously, no one remembers who BD is, or what she's just done.)

Press: I said, what makes you think you can succede where so many others have failed? With your proposed plan to defeat Andariel?

(BD sighs. She's heard of this phenomenum before, where timespace warped with worldstone disturbances.)

BD: I think, taking it one step at a time, I should be ok. After all, you don't know what nightmarish things are out there. That will be all, thanks for coming.

I have helped the poor captured barbarians and set anya free. Right now I might visit pindle a few times, just to level up a bit more to prepare for nihlitak, the ancients and Baal.

@moar, @quickdeath: Sorry to read about the deaths, may Grans Rest in Peace and may Lotus continue with good fortune in the world outside of the tournament.

My best find, a Gull. So far I have no real use for it actually, so it's in the stash for now.

We keep on moving forward, still going with /p8. In the seven tombs, I used a lot of Dim Vision and let Isolde do most of the work, especially against Unravelers and beetles.

I tried Attract a bit. Pretty cool spell. Do you know if bosses are affected by it? I know I can´t cast it on a boss, but will a boss attack an Attracted minion? I have to try that if you don´t know. Still no answers to my other Confuse/Attract questions. Come on, help this noob out!

I had saved up plenty of Healing and Greater Healing potions for the Duriel fight. Turns out I didn´t need any greater at all, and no rejuves either. Mark and Isolde got into a good fighting position early, and kept it up for the rest of the fight. The main plan was to get Isolde to stand outside Holy Freeze range, and fire plenty of (Static Circlet assisted) arrows. 62% blocking, well over 200 life and constant Decrepifying pretty much reduced Duriel to a punching bag. And look at all that OW blood! Our reward: four useless rares and an Isenhart´s Case. Oh well, that´s still some good cash...

Duriel wasn't much of a challenge since I was able to feed potions to my merc while he tanked all the damage. Killing speed picked up considerably once I gambled a rare Flail, much better than the scepter I was using. A few nice finds along the way:

3: Shimmering Jewel
Required Level: 12
Item Version: 1.10 Expansion
Item Level: 20
Fingerprint: 0x647873e6
All Resistances +10

15: Cobalt Grand Charm of Balance

Required Level: 15
Item Version: 1.10 Expansion
Item Level: 21
Fingerprint: 0x5f5e1791
Cold Resist +23%
12% Faster Hit Recovery

Also an ethereal Treads of Cthon, Cathan's Sigil, and a Hsaru's Belt to go with my boots. Current MF is 60% without really trying. I really can't wait for level 30 so I can finally get a Valkyrie
