Returning to the Roots - Mini mafia game

Were you overwhelmed in GOTASOIAF? What crazy theories are flying about this game?

Not voting isn't why I quoted and responded to you. It was the "not participate in discussion" bit I thought was most important. You wanted others to talk and potentially slip up yet you didn't seem eager to talk (and potentially slip) yourself.
No where in there did I say I wasn't going to talk or get involved in discussion, and then you say I didn't seem eager to talk. That's such a leap. Is there really that much to be discussed in D1? Not really. There really hasn't been that much discussion so far.
As I love to tell my kids: Life's not fair.

And dude, it's a D1 scumlist, it's nothing to get bent out of shape about. I put 3 players on it, that means that at least 1 of them is a townie since we know there are only 2 mafia.

Okay, I'll give you a bit more info then, since it's now available. My original post putting you on my scumlist is accurate I did find your play scummy, but didn't really have much to nail it down. What I got from you was a complete blow up from me putting you on a list of people I've found scummy so far and you continually pushing the issue making sure that everyone knows that I put you on a list without just cause. guilty conscience.

Yes, it was bad timing. You were trying to get a train rolling while you thought you had momentum.

Responding to your post in a civil manner doesn't make it a "blow-up", I was interested in how you actually thought I was scummy.
And it being a D1 scumlist is more important than you would think, since it only takes a little bit of weak reasoning to point towards someone who is completely innocent. And still, even now, you don't have any hard reason to call me scummy other than me pointing out that you didn't have any good reason and now your reasoning is such that since I called you out on your baseless scumlist that makes me look scummy. Just because I point out that I shouldn't be on a scumlist doesn't make me scummy, all it does is try and point out how your logic is flawed and how instead of I, you should be the one considered scummy.

Is there anything preventing you from being proactive and trying to create discussion and trying to find Mafia?

You seem to possess accurate knowledge of the game setup only mafia should know.

Why did you equate goon with hitman? I don't believe you've been mafia in a game where goon = hitman . I'm not sure we've had games with a hitman since you've re-joined. To me, goon doesn't imply hitman. Reading the links you said you read doesn't equate good with hitman (and contradicts it). Yet we find out from CG that goon = hitman.

I can not find fault with this logic.

I find it hard to create discussion the first day phase, I'm still very new to the game and I'm scared to say something completely innocent and it be skewed another way. I'm not even sure how I'd go about creating new discussion. I'd probably be labelled as trying to fish and then I'm mafia all-of-a-sudden.

This seems all very whiny, but it's true. I've only been in one game and the first day phase in that one was pretty barren.

If I knew I could I would but I find it challenging.

Most of my locig yesterday has been wrong, so I see your reason to lynch me. Can't really blame you as I would really go after myself as well. I assumed that since there are 2 mafia and one is a role cop the other would do the killing. The mafiascum page proves me wrong while CG proves me right.

I'm a vanilla townie, so at least my lynch won't hurt the town too much. Odds are that a townie gets lynched D1 and then better a vanilla one than a PR.

The noob card? How convenient! So you are scared of saying something to paint you as Mafia? Why?

Who do you think is most likely scum at this point then?

Who wouldn't be scared to say something to that would paint them as mafia? Isn't it obvious? They would be lynched even if they weren't mafia. That's what I'm afraid of. An innocent being lynched because of some noobie slip.

I hate using the "noob card", but it is my reasoning for being scared to start discussion day one. I tend to post more later in the game.

Mafia actions are not limited by their numbers. In other words, so long as the rolecop is alive, mafia may use both abilities each night.

The goon performs the kills if he is alive.

Well that makes jailer a lot more powerful.

So, if we have a jailer and the jailer happens to target the goon, then mafia can't kill that night?

That is how I read it.

I'm not required to divulge all of my suspicions....deal with it.

No you are not. But it is rarely townie not to.

Putting some quotes here because I am lazy and don't want to keep looking them all up:

I think Gory pointed it out first, but the quotes you provided are a very good summary. One of the better Day 1 cases I have seen.

Either Phil or kestegs is scum I think. Phil more so in my opinion. I would have voted for him if it wasn't clear that I'll get lynched anyway. I've posted a lot, so there's a lot of interaction to look at. Hope it'll help. Good luck to the town!

Gwaihir locked me early. Trying to stiffle discussion?

You are not required to share but what help is there to the Town by withholding a case for who you think has a case for being Mafia?

What point? You really had zero interest in finding Scum!

Offering your suspicions close to your chest is a tactic I use in most games. People are a lot more wary of what they post when they think they're under suspicion.

That's just another unfounded BS statement from you.

No, just didn;t think it through. Read posts, realized what was super suspicious, didn't count votes. Forgot we have 9 people, not 20 like normal so I didn't even think I was a lynching vote.

Would be where my vote ended up anyways, but would not have locked if I had known.

They stood around the fallen Great Oak. For a long time, none of the trees whispered a sound.

"Whelp, I guess it's time to get to choppin'," one finally spoke. Eight others looked at it incredulously.

"What?!" "You can't be serious!" "How will that help?" they shouted all at once.

"Listen," the first said. "One of us did this. That's indisputable. So to find out..." the tree trailed off, but as it did so, it slammed a branch against one of the Pines.

"Hey! Stop that!"

"Why?" It slammed the Pine again.

"Because I didn't do it, that's why!"

"AH-HA!" pronounced a different tree. "Just what the perpetrator would have said!" Now two trees slammed branches into the Pine. It swayed beneath the pressure.

"Okay, that's just stup-" WHUMP. A gigantic log crashed into the Pine from behind, sending it reeling. It teetered, caught its balance, and nearly pulled itself up. Then, a flying squirrel family leaped from the shadows and landed solidly on its back, putting the distressed Pine over the edge.

With a gigantic crash that echoed through the Werewood, the Pine toppled to the earth, its roots clearly visible to all. No sign of infection was amongst them.

"Oops," said the tree that struck the first blow.

"I hate you all," muttered the newly fallen tree.

------

Moar has been lynched. She was town, vanilla.

Day starts in 24 hours. Ish. I guess. Maybe sooner if actions are sent in promptly and the mafia don't need to use their night talk.

Moar (5): Goryani; Zokar; Solar Ice; Bad Ash; Gwaihir
Phillinicus (2): Ankeli; kestegs

"Hey," said the Douglas Fir.

"Hey," repeated the other tree.

"Is... is that an ax in your branch?"

The newcomer tree looked down, and saw that it did in fact carry an logger's ax. "Apparently it is."

"What are you planning on doing with it?"

"Oh, nothing. It's just here to distract you."

"Uhhh... from what?" The Fir sounded concerned, but it was hidden underneath the loud sounds of a chainsaw being revved up from behind it.

"That."

-------------

Zokar has been stumped! He was a Vanilla Townie.

Seven alive, four to lock+lynch.

-------------

Day has opened early. Because this is a mini-game and we're playing it fast and loose. Let's tentatively close this day out in 29 hours, but if the town needs more time, we can extend another 24 beyond that.

Same suspects remain for me. Top ones are Kestegs, Phillinnicus and now Ankeli. The main reason for the third is that Zokar seemed a bit suspicious of Ankeli Yesterday, asked him a question which went unanswered and now he ends up dead. Coincidence or not, I do not know. Phil looks to be scum as well, with lots of lurking in plain sight without any real contributions. Kestegs has been talked about at length Yesterday.

Ankeli, any thoughts?
