I like to listen to music in most of the D2 sessions that I expect to be easy. For most of Hell and some other areas like the Act III temples in Nightmare, I do not because I rely on sound to tell me things like there are vampires and spiders close by, a Might aura goes off in the distance, etc.
My favourite type of music these days is a pretty specific genre. I can't give it an exact name but it's something like symphonic and/or melodic metal where at least most songs have female voices in them. This era pretty much began in 1995 and has exploded since then.
Some of my favourite albums in the genre:
Tristania - Widow's Weeds
Visions of Atlantis - Trinity
Pythia - The Serpent's Curse
Angel - A Woman's Diary part 1
Coronatus - Lux Noctis
Draconian - A Rose for the Apocalypse
Xandria - Neverworld's End
Satyrian - Eternitas

This group is awesome. That moment around the 7th minute mark when the drums kick in is simply amazing. I think describing this piece as "minimalist rock" isn't too far off.

What the bands you listed seem to have in common is the general "symphonic gothic metal" tag.

Her whole channel is full of hauntingly interesting lyrics. She wasn't allowed music at home and how her talent has blossomed once that restriction was lifted, is incredible.
