OT: titan quest

Ram is a big thing these days for gaming moreso than CPU power. Hell, I wouldn't run a 3ghz cpu though without 1gb min ram. The demo ran pretty damn good on my Athlon 2200 with 2gb of ram. Can't wait to see it on a 3.2 with 2gb ram now. :badteeth:

A little more on the ot side: high clockspeed doesn't translate to faster gaming.

I'd try it if my comp could run it.

The demo actually ran fine with the 1 GHz, 512 Mb RAM computer I'm stuck with until I get a new motherboard, at the default resolution (either 1024x768 or 1280x1024) with all the graphics settings on low. I do have a reasonably new video card though, which will help a lot I imagine (Radeon X1600)

*agrees with lothos* unfortunately my justification for getting the new computer didn't include enough justification for a decent amount of RAM for gaming. One of these days I'll get a couple more gigs... :badteeth:

I tried to install, but it said I didn't meet the spec requirements

I said, FTW!!!

What could it be?

Spec's on the game call for 1.8Hgz Pentium 4 or AMD Athlon XP equivalent (Isn't the 2500+ 1.9Ghz?)
512Mb Ram (I have triple that...)
64 MB Nvidia GeForce 3 or equivalent (Is my 256MB FX5200 not good enough?)
DirectX 9.0c compatible 16-bit sound card (Hmmmm, I don't know about my onboard sound - this might be it, I'll check into it...)
5Gb Free HDD Space (Who DOESN'T have this?)
8x or faster CD-ROM (See ^)
Keyboard/Moue (See ^)
Windows 2000 or XP (See ^)

So... What do you all think?

It's the vid card. Something about pixel shader 2.0 support and such. Won't install on my laptop either.

Well, i enjoy my $80 (back in 2002) 256Mb vid card

I guess I'll get to play it one of these days (when the wife lets me build another computer  )

*Edit* I just noticed a typo in my last post...

LoL HGz??? LMFAO @ HigaGertz

you can get a vid card for less than $100 to put in it to play stuff without building a whole new pc.

I know, but I want a new computer

I want to build an Athlon 64 system... PCI Express Vid Card... Rawr!!!

And give this one I'm using now to my wife, so she has her own  If she wants to play TQ with me, then i will upgrade hers (this one) AFTER I get my computer set up

I can build an Althon 64 system from scratch (with new HDD, vid card, RAM, etc etc) for about $400... It would only be a Athlon 64 3000+ but hey, better than no 64

Titan Quest is decent but trading is a C-YOU-N-TEE!!!!!

I played D2 for 5+ years as *LifePincher ......... You may of heard of me? The guy with the highest lvl Grizzly? (45) I played Summon Druid too long!
Bottom Line= Pick up Titan Quest because it blows D2 away in terms of everything but ........ AHEM......... Battlenet! The Multi is sketchy but it's still in its infancy mind you and is only on it's first patch!

*LifePincher

I am enjoying TQ.

I have a level 34 druid who focuses on ice shards (pretty much like Sacred's spell) and summoning (2 wolves, a nymph, and a wisp.) He has some other utility spells thrown in there and is starting to develop the plague skill.

My other character is a young level 13 trapper (rogue/hunter masteries) who is about to finish the equivalent of Act 1. So far I have only worked on nothing but three trap skills (making the trap have more damage, being able to lay it faster, and making it shoot more bolts.) She can have up to three traps out at a time. The traps can be attacked by enemies (they are sort of like minions in that they have health and can be affected by certain buffs.) Next on her agenda after maxing her trap skills is the flash skill (which can cause enemies to become confused or fumble their attacks) and blade lore. There will be plenty of points for more skills.

The graphics are great. I have only had one crash so far and no bugs. There are normal, magic, rare, and set items. I think the set items are broken down into epic and legendary items.

There are relics and creature items that are basicly like jewels in D2. While no items are socketed, you can put these into anything but set items. These are not so rare as good jewels are in D2.

You can run bosses like in D2. There is no MF equipment though that I am aware of (maybe I just haven't found it yet though.)
