OT: The SPF Mafia Game Round Three

An innocent jogger calls police at 5:30 this morning to report a murder. Upon arrival police find a horribly mangled body that has been drug through town behind a car. They immediately cover it up. While totally unrecognizable, the driver's license in the pocket says Drixx.

Drixx was murdered last night. CDRToast is being held by the crooked detective. This begins Day Two.

In Prison (1)
CDRToast

Since there are only 20 people able to vote or be voted on, it takes 11 votes to lynch.

The doctor cannot save the same person twice in a row, but can (s)he save the same person other than him-/herself twice in the game?

Yes.

Drixx!!? And I thought he was one of them. But he was a late-comer, and got murdered. Did we just lose a townie with a role? I still suspect the other late-comers, but not nearly as sure as before ...

RIP Drixx :hanky:

Drixx is definitely an odd choice to be murdered. I don't want to say why because it would benefit the mafia but still. Out of all the potential murder options, it was probably unwise to murder him over someone else.

Actually I was fairly certain that Drixx was not a mafioso... His observations actually made sense unlike most of the people that were saying things. I think he was a perfect option. Aside from revenatsknight he hasn't said a word about anyone else so there are really no suspects. My question is why put CDRToast in custody? I personally think it as totally random.

Well that escaladed quickly...

I went to bed early last night so I missed part of the big debate in town. Looking back at it, looks like you guys we're on your way to lynch RK. I still need to do a little bit of reading to catch up with everything. I've got an interesting theory that I'll provide as soon as all the facts are straight in my head.

And RIP Drixx! We will avenge you, with a trident!

Rest in peace, Drixx.

Though the most surprising thing probably is that Sint is still alive.

How about CDRToast in custody? He hasn't really been the most talkative or aggressive player in this game.

Something's up that we don't know.

What do you know..., when I go to sleep, it's night, and then when I wake up, it's day.

Hate to say I told you so to all the people who didn't think there was a mafia.

The first question we must ask ourselves is what do that mafia want us to believe from Drixx's murder and CDRToast's imprisonment, as given yesterday's activities, the vigilante was probably waiting out the night.

They may want xduckster to believe CDRToast is mafia, so I'm going to think about Drixx's murder with CDRToast being a townie.

RK got a lot of votes yesterday, one of them being from Drixx. The mafia might want us to think RK is mafia, so he's probably a townie, and maybe the one we need to avoid lynching.

They didn't kill me (thank goodness), but that's probably because they believe you'll lynch me eventually.

Other likely townies: xduckster and water_moon

Confirmed townie :sad2: : Drixx

So let's get another long day started:

Vote: Sir Lister of Smeg

Reasoning: in post 193 he heavily re-iterated two themes which had been discussed previously

That not lynching at day helps the town more than lynching a townie (but also brings the mafia's chance to lose a member that day to zero)

That the mafia, as an ENTIRE group, was inactive. Some of them sure, as skoolbus will alone know for now. However, that doesn't mean one of them wasn't active and was not either A) not interested in acting alone B) thinking the "inactive" cover was good.

He then asked goltar to share some info on water_moon, probably fishing for one of those extra-special kills.

It would appear he wants us to believe that he's a townie too concerned about killing innocents to vote.

Poor Drixx.

Nothing real to add at this point, except that I hope we can manage to not make the same mistake we made yesterday, now that the mafia is indeed active and violent.

Argh, another would-be edit turned into a double-post, but I just want to mention that my previous post has a post-time of 13:37 server time given that I have my account set to EDT:cool:

18:37 here ;p

I'd like to see what goltar and Moar have to say on this particular matter - i.e. CDR being in jail and Drixx getting killed.

Funny you should say that. Had you put your weight behind one of the leading lynch-candidates, there could have been a lynching. Spreading votes all over the place more or less ensures no one get lynched, which is apparently what you were trying to do.

It's a shame that those who said there is a violent criminal element in this town turn out to have been correct, rest in peace, Drixx.

As to who is behind this, I don't have a clue. The only thing is that some people were acting very suspiciously yesterday, so suspiciously that I thought they were the main candidates for village idiot. Of course if one of them would have been village idiot the mafia would have killed one of them. For those who say that's too obvious reasoning, the mafia would gain nothing by letting him or her live and have the chance of them being lynched. Apparently they thought or knew that neither RevenantsKnight nor Rashiminos was village idiot which they can only know if both were mafia. On the other hand, RevenantsKnight voted for Rashiminos yesterday. Rashiminos did not return the favour, but then RevenantsKnight had a lot of votes for himself whereas Rashiminos did not.

@Rashiminos: in your' reasoning for voting for me today, there are a few flaws. First of all, as you might have understood if you'd carefully read what I wrote, I am afraid of lynching the village idiot. Secondly, my main point of not wanting to lynch someone when not having a clue was that the most likely candidate for lynching is a townie. Unless you have solid suspicion towards someone there is little point in lynching that person. If you find it so vital to lynch at every moment possible, then why didn't you vote for RevenantsKnight yesterday when he was already the leading candidate for lynching? I know most votes for him were only received after your last post yesterday, but at the time of your last post he was already the leading candidate. Instead you jumped on the bandwagon to try and get enough votes for Jaago, why? On another note, why are xduckster and water_moon obvious townies in your opinion?

Entirely unrelated to the mafia game, but you guys had a conversation about it. The timestamp on posts is never right for me, not the hour or the minute. They're not even close. I believe I have it set to EST (my timezone) in my profile/account, but I have no clue how to get the times right, if anyone can help, please pm me!

Fair enough, I suppose. But it should also be noted that I voted for Lord Nikon long before the pile-up on RK began. I didn't "spread votes" around... I just failed to change mine.

Yesterday, I didn't take RK seriously, he's playing the fool, and it was looking like Jaago could be the contender. I still don't think RK is mafia. Anyways, about having solid suspicion before you decide to vote someone... That's not going to happen, not unless you happen to be the cop. I never said xduckster and water_moon were obvious townies, don't confuse my speech with Jaago's speech. Xduckster because he voted for CDR, w_m because I'm just spitballin' there.

However, you're probably right, I could have changed to RK to get us ever closer to getting a lynch, I blame that on the need for sleep.
