edit. LprMan, hmm. I thought that only white superior items have max base def +1, but it might be also on uniques. What comes to upgrading, last ladder I upgraded HoZ and it came with exactly the same defense what it was before :grin:

IIRC all set and unique items have max base defense +1. The base defense will be rolled again when you upgrade an item though. Sometimes you can end up with less defense after upgrading :shocked:



 
LprMan is correct here Neksja, most people don't risk upgrading Vamp Gaze's because the upgrade from Grim Helm to Bone Visage quite commonly yields a lower total defense after ED. :laugh:

and sympathies on the jewel :sad:, if it has a decent low lvl req it could be valuable though.

My first and only ed/ias jewel so far has been a 29/15 realgar jewel of fervor :grin:

It will get 6 sockets(cannot be cube-socketed) => quite useless, unless you are swimming is Zods:wink3:
