New GoMule (slightly less Beta!) Available!

I know it's bad to have 2 topics on the same front page, but I didn't expect the old one to reappear! I figured since there are some important updates and bugfixes, this needed its own thread.

GoMule 3.1 is available here: http://gomule.sourceforge.net

As always, copy your projects folder from your GoMule folder and put it in the new GoMule folder to preserve your settings, clipboards, projects and bank.

Please, if you're using GoMule 3.0, download the update. Some important bug have been fixed, which led to problems with items disappearing! Here's the bugfix list from 3.0 -> 3.1:

(Short Version)

Fixed: DropCalc, Everything else you all reported
Not Fixed: Full set bonuses being added to LCS (Hey, it wouldn't be an LCS if it told the truth :) )

  • @silos: I know this is a very trivial thing but, is it possible to display if cow king is killed with a char :hide: This has been the only reason i use ATMA lately. (Fixed)
  • 1) The Character display is missing its background. (should be fixed?) (Now it is almost certainly fixed).
  • Silo: Bug report for you. On the drop calc menu, when I switch Type from Atomic TC to Item, and then repeatedly choose Item from the same drop-down, the right-most column seems to be expanding.(fixed)
  • I have a stash that contains a bunch of twinking gear(a mix of sets, uniques, and socketed items). When I try to pick up a Gemmed Hunter's Bow, I cannot see the stats, it isn't removed from the stash, and I can pick it up as much as I want. Also, if I click on it, it does not become highlighted(I can still pick it up though). Any thoughts?

  • 2) I set up a project for my sept (and all SC Vanilla toons) with no
    problems, then tried to set up a project for miscellaneous Modded toons. No
    problem. But when I tried to import the 'tourney toons' (as I call them) I
    got an error (see below) and only one of the characters loaded. Now things
    appear to be stuck in the Tourney project: I can't open OrangeJuice (HC Mod)
    and can't load RangerRick (SC Mod). (FIXED PROJNAME INVALID - Cant enter invalid characters now)
  • - When I do a full dump of a project, is it possible to include the character stats and skills in the text files, and not just the items? It would be nice if the file generated by the dump project button was the same as the dump tab on the character window. (Fixed)
  • Fixed dump skills being incorrectly ordered
  • - My left (RIGHT??? I THINK RIGHT?) hand side bar always comes in too large - the boxes align side by side. When I re-size it the align nicely underneath eachother, but the size isn't saved in any way. I can do a screenshot later if I'm not being clear. (Fixed, It was the right hand side :P)
  • Fixed dropcalc for council member minions - problem was quality list not being included.
  • Attemped to optimise on txt file reading. GoMule now reads when files are required rather than initially.
  • FIX BOSS AND SU with SOJ. <- Possibly fixed.
  • Fixed dropcalc for council member minions AGAIN. boss fix broke previous fix.
  • Fixed +Max damage on some items
  • Fixed items not consolidating together on misc items
  • Fixed Mac crashes (kind of.)

Important note for Mac users:

I fixed the problem with crashing after opening about 10 things in GoMule - It seemed to be due to the font loading. You may have a bad display now due to the different font, I'm not certain. Also, GoMule appears to crash after opening about 15 things with an OutOfMemory error now. So there is still a problem lying around for you guys. I'm working on it, but the only test Mac I have is a virtual Tiger running on Linux. It is a little slow (if little means stupidly), not very reliable and extremely painful to work with. I'm trying though!



Oh and Randall is working on the project again, he's cooking up some cool low level GUI changes and stash item filter changes, I don't know about you guys, but I'm excited!

Should we delete the old before adding the new? I'm not at all that knowledgeable on Java...

@Friiser: It should be okay to just extract the new version on top of the old one. That's how I always do it without any problems... Of course backing up everything first :)

Of course :) Just copy your projects folder into the new GoMule folder and all your settings and things should be preserved.

You can always just test out the new version, see if you like it before you decide to switch. And R0.2.2 will remain available forever on sourceforge, so if you want to change back, it's easy enough.

thank you or this and or gomule silo, i find gomule better then atma, however, I do have one problem, it doesn't load 1.09 classic characters, so i need both atma and gomule

as i am atm mping on 1.09 with fast eddie, and then everything else is 1.12

Nice program, this is the first time I have used GoMule and I haven't tried doing much in it yet, but the stats tab is pretty awesome and the Flavie report was super fast (although it didn't recognise the old Azurewrath - minor)

I'll have to try some muling of gems and things to test out moving lots of things together. Also the filters are awesome!

@ Tubba Blubba: I wouldn't say I necessarily prefer GoMule to ATMA just yet, because I have not really used it enough, but some of the features are extremely useful. I'm more comfortable with ATMA so it's still the one I will use until I have more time on GoMule.

Incidentally one thing that I like about ATMA is the separate tabs for character view and stash view. Also is there any way to modify the naming convention on GoMule - it's a bit cluttered with the file extension and file location! Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere, I didn't notice any mention of it in the documentation!

@Silos: Nice job, looks great (there is a spelling mistake in preferences 'convection' should be 'convention')

I agree. I greatly prefer GoMule to ATMA - GoMule is just so much more natural to a D2 player.

Love the new update. And the Apple button works now! Just as I was getting used to using the ctrl key. I wish stashes still had the Drop All key, but I'll just have to get used to using the Drop All button on the Clipboard more. :D

Aight, looks like I've discovered some sort of bug.

I've got my Immortal King Berserker Barb. While I was digging up a Raven Frost for him, I noticed something strange - His resistances were way too low, many of them in the negatives (Which is impossible, because IK set gives +100 resist all by itself, and that's not even counting Natural Resists). I hit Weapon Switch to see what changed, and the resists jumped up - Which is to be expected as I've got a Silence on my switch. However, once I switched back to IK maul, resists remained at "Silence switch", and were still way too low with the IK armor and Natural Resists considered.

Resists displayed in GoMule Post-switch:

Congratulations on your engagement Silo, and thanks for all the effort you've put in this project, before GoMule I hadn't even considered playing SP in my macbook :)
