In this thread I will post my results from a small MF-project of mine.
For me, it is important to come up with things to make the farming and game play feel “fresh” and break out of the meta now and then. After all, this is an ARPG with a “creative” aspect to it as well.
Here, my goal is to do 500 Pit runs and 500 Ancient tunnels runs, on players 1, with “magic find” oriented builds which only uses melee attacks as a way to kill monsters! It is a “pseodosept” in that sense that I will complete this task with one build per class, but I will not level a new char for the task but will use already “finished” chars and respec them.
Some additional “rules” imposed of me is not to change that much gear and skills between the two areas. Maybe change out a few charms, change a ring etc. But all in all it should be the same build for each area per character.
I have now completed two of the chars and will post their builds and results in more detail below. Here are the ideas I have for each class.
¤ Barbarian (finished) - I did not wanna do the zerker/concetrator which is a meta build. Instead I wanted to spin2win. But, because whirlwind is a multitarget attack skill, using find item (FI) will take quite some time. So, I decided to skip FI and focused on balancing movement/teleport speed, killing power with magic find %.
¤ Druid (finished) - here I went with a more or less standard fury/feral rage build. Not having teleport available once in wearform, I decided to invest heavily into run speed. Also, getting good maps was crucial for this char.
¤ Paladin - probably zealot with killing power solely from Grief phase blade. Rest just get decent fcr and as high mf% as we can. Mana after each kill might be useful because some mobs in these areas are not leechable.
¤ Assassin - probably just a kicksin with lawbringer phaseblade. Get decent fcr and get as high mf as possible.
¤ Javazon - charged strike. Will get 99 fcr for sure otherwise she is just unplayable.
¤ Sorc - enchantress, either Greif or Passion phaseblade. Merc will probably do as much killing as she so perhaps just try to build her “tanky” and get merc do the heavy lifting.
¤ Necro - poison dagger… no no no haha just kidding, never! Will just get amp damage curse, max bone armor and its synergies… here I will use Frenzy barb merc with dual Griefs, CoH and perhaps cure… just cast amp, telestomp and “boss” will be dead in 0,1 seconds boom, this is the char I am looking forward most to run :-D
