Lord Chaos said:There was as much significance in that, as there was in the "rules are rules" statement. Yes, everyone does thing, doesn't make it right...merely makes it a fact of life and that people should get off their high horses.
squigipapa said:wow! it's really interesting to see people get so worked up about this stuff. who cares! it revals the map, once you do an area for the first time with a character the map should be revealed anyway. Just like it is in single player. Role play a little here. you're a barb, you travel through an area then you go to bed (ie. save and exit) but when you come back the next day the area you traveled the day before is totally different, the exit's or stairs are no longer in the same place!!! Buildings have moved hundreds of yards from where they were the day before. The monistery that used to be south of the cold plains is now North!! stop the insanity!!
I don't agree with hacks or dupes for obvious reasons, but revealing the map .. come on! "oh .. but it gives and unfair advantage, cause the maphackers can do mf runs faster then thoes who dont map hack, which means they get more great items!" why do you care, you're not gonna trade with thoes cheating hackers anyway.![]()
And as far as unfair advantages go, that is bull***t! everyone who plays this game has unfair advantages over others, younger people who are still in school have more time to play than older people with jobs and families, however older people with jobs and famlies have more income and credit cards etc. so they can buy maphack. It all even's out in the end.
But anyway, really the point here is "who cares!" play the game the way you enjoy it! if you want to break the eula .. go right ahead, do whatever you want as long as you're willing to accept whatever conciquences might come from your actions. if bit**ing about map hackers on forums floats your boat.. by all means .. go ahead!
I think the worst is the people I see in these forums complaining the using "netstat" to find D-Clone is a cheat! .. what's next .. "I don't have an internet connection .. I can't connect to battle.net ... you can?!!! not fair .. cheater!!!"
whatever..![]()
Lord Chaos said:1. How funny you would label me as a cheater, when I have repeatedly stated that I do not cheat.
2. Hey, no more lazy than the people who, instead of finding things out themselves, go to message forums, get help from closed circles, etc...in the end its all how you view it.
That's funny, because as I recall it you both admitted to using maphack and that maphack was cheating. Let's see if I can't find the quotes... Yes, here they areLord Chaos said:1. How funny you would label me as a cheater, when I have repeatedly stated that I do not cheat.
Lord Chaos said:what I care about (in using maphack, ed) is being able to actually play the game in a fun flowing manner, instead of having to stop up all the time to read truckloads of white writing or pick up every grey item
And for the second part of your post:Lord Chaos said:I really never said it wasn't cheating, but I consider alot of things cheating...*shrugs*
Haven't we been there before? Yes, we have - 5 pages ago you had this formulation:Lord Chaos said:2. Hey, no more lazy than the people who, instead of finding things out themselves, go to message forums, get help from closed circles, etc...in the end its all how you view it.
Then, as now, my answer is:Lord Chaos said:So does alot of other things (give an unfair advantage, ed) ...all the forums, little proggies etc. that helps calculate, help set up perfect builds
You've run out of arguments several pages ago, and now you're just trolling, giving everybody a worse impression of you. Time to let it go.sasja said:None of the game's rules are about sharing information. Some of the game's rules are about what part of the map you can see, the colour of unique, magical and socketed drops, etc. If you want to change it, I think you should be allowed - I'm all for Open Source. Just stay away from the place made for and inhabited by the people who want to play the game as it is.
Huh! I was following for for the first line or so .. but then you lost me. What exactly does WoW have to do with getting 3rd party programs off of D2 & D2x? "then we laugh cause we pay to get scumbag cheaters off the realms" .. and I'm living in a dream world... ya! Excuse me ... Waiter .. I want whatever this guy's having.. and by the way. I hate to break it to you but whether you .. or some other guy, or 10,000 other people agree that this is a big deal, I don't believe it is. Let me explain:Daemonaz said:This is exactly the reason why so many people use maphack and cheat because apparantly it's not a big deal. Well I got news for you, using a third program party on a gaming service that specifically prohibits said programs is a big deal. You keep on living in your dream world, and when that one glorious day of WoW arrives, and all you cheaters get your third party programs in there too, then we laugh cause we pay to get scumbag cheaters off the realms.
squigipapa said:will my account get banned.. maybe.. who cares, I can create another one. Will my cd-key get banned, very small possibility, oh well, 10 minuts pay will cover the purchase of a new copy.

I hate to break it to you but whether you .. or some other guy, or 10,000 other people agree that this is a big deal, I don't believe it is. Let me explain:
Define "Big Deal" Will I end up in jail? well no other person on the face of the planet has been jailed for using maphack on battle.net. (specific example, don't start proving your point by listing examples of idiots who've hacked governments and gotton caught. we're talking battle.net and maphack here.)
ok .. so I won't go to jail if I get caught.. will my account get banned.. maybe.. who cares, I can create another one. Will my cd-key get banned, very small possibility, oh well, 10 minuts pay will cover the purchase of a new copy.
So if the "punishment" is basically nothing for me.. that tells me that it's not a big deal, now all of this or course puts aside morality .. I'm not gonna talk about what's morally right or wrong because it's pointless.. everyone in the world has a different view on morality ..
I believe that the punishment defines what is or is not a "big deal" example: if the punishment for robbing a bank was to write "I will never rob a bank again" 100 times on a chalkboard, do you think most criminal's would think that robbing a bank was a big deal? .. the same as jaywalking .. nobody thinks that this is a big deal (by nobody I don't mean you, you know YOU.. the one morally superiour person that going to write back saying that you care about jaywalking..) However, if the punishment for jaywalking was 5 years on death row, then the electric chair, people would then think it was a big deal.
The fact is that it's the "lawmakers" or "rulemakers" that decide what is a big deal to them. If Blizzard found a way to detect maphack, and spent the hundreds or thousands if not millions of dollars that it would take to prosicute to the full extent of the law, every last person that used maphack on battle.net then people's view's would change, however, in my "little dream world" that's not the way it works.
Daemonaz said:See there you go again. Cheating is apparantly no big deal to you. No matter the consequences of your actions. People like you should be banned off the realm, which will happen when WoW (WORLD OF WARCRAFT) gets released and you start your cheating spree in there too. Now, us legit players can't really do much because it's a free service and we are in many ways glad Blizzard keeps it running. When WoW however is out, and we pay 10 euros a month, us PAYING CUSTOMERS, who play LEGIT (a word that apparantly has no meaning to you) will DEMAND to rid the realm of scumbag cheaters.
Now how difficult was that for you to understand?
Basically what you are saying is: I can kill someone as long as I don't get caught and convicted... Well that's maybe how it works in your little dream world...
squigipapa said:As a little side note, Daemonaz, I'm really sorry if I offended you or anything, I'm just stating my oppinion, I don't believe that I Judged or labeled you in any of my previous posts, and I diden't want to get in a flame war with you or anything, in fact, I've been reading the forums for quite a while off and on and I think a lot of your oppinions are great. I just feel fairly strong about this one, in that I believe that this is not a "big deal" because blizzard, has led me to think this way, and I'm not alone.
anyway .. that's just my oppinion.. again .. sorry if I offended you.![]()
No that's cool man, I totally agree with you there, if you use it you cheat! plain and simple. No justification required!Daemonaz said:I understand, it's just these endless MH threads sometimes annoy me. I can understand your point of view but I'm against cheating and I consider MH as cheating, for reasons stated many times before. Sometimes I'm getting just tired off all the people trying to justify why they use it. In the end there is no real justification. My anger was not directed at you personally, sorry if it seemed so.
