Re: In A Mirror Darkly - Star Trek Mafia Forum Game Thread

For doctor's saves, did you guys change the format? In past games I've played, when the doctor saves a player from an NK, it was incorporated in the story, ie. "Zhao was mortality wounded by the bad guys but a mysterious figure brings out a defibulator and brings him back to life." That way we get a confirmed townie.

Tell me Loz, what exactly stopped you from posting the previous day phase? I believe I called on all inactives to contribute and even called you out specifically, yet you never showed up.

I think the only game I've played where that happened was in Bad Ash's game way back a few months ago. I think the first day Noodle was confirmed a townie because he was rushed to the hospital. However, I don't believe we've seen it since.

Re: In A Mirror Darkly - Star Trek Mafia Forum Game Thread

Posible explanations for lack of a night kill:

1)Mafia failed to target anyone. Possible, but unlikely. We've seen it happen on rare occasions, but I consider this the least likely explanation.

2) Mafia was role blocked by a doctor-type role. Certainly possible, in fact, I would consider this likely.

3) Mafia targeted someone whose role makes them immune to night kills. I consider this as likely as the doctor scenario. Given Gorny's experience with the game, and the complexity of this game with its multiple posting restrictions / silencing, it seems a reasonable option.

4) Something I'm not considering. Any additional thoughts?

Could it be because the doctor didn't manage to save anyone since?

Not reporting on Doctor saves hurts the townies a little more.

The lack of a documented doctor save last night makes me think it's more likely that the mafia targeted someone immune to night kills.

Zhao: It might be; I don't remember a specific save since Bad Ash's game, but that doesn't mean it hasn't happened. I don't know where the notes are for my game previous, but I don't believe anyone was saved that round, not sure about the others that hosted, however.

Noodle: I_Told_You mentioned that someone could have been recruited like the werewolf game previous to this one.

Loz: I still don't believe you've answered my question explaining your absence last day phase.

I know the last game gorny didn't save any one, 2 nights I recruited and 1 night I targeted Gorny but nothing happened (he didn't save himself).

Not sure why you are faking ignorance, there is Borg in this game and their main tagline is assimulation.

It looks like he is trying to address Zhao and Mara. Not sure what the message is for Zhao, but it looks like "post restriction" under Mara's name.

What is a tribble?

Re: In A Mirror Darkly - Star Trek Mafia Forum Game Thread

Yeah, I guess assimilation could explain the lack of a kill. Maybe they have a choice between outright killing someone and assimilating them. Or, maybe assimilation is the form a night kill takes. Hard to tell. If that's the case, we should probably consider lynching anyone with a speech restriction, as it's likely a sign that they're in the process of being assimilated.

His reply to Zhao looks like-
occums razor victim was recruited and not killed and saved.

And a tribble is a little fluffy creature that reproduces uncontrollably. From the kirk days!

Thanks Dii for the translating. A tribble is basically a jack-rabbit in the star trek universe. They're cute, sex crazed (multiply ALOT), [JK]and the only way to get rid of them is with a flame-thrower.[/JK] On a more serious note, iirc, the tribbles messed up the enterprise pretty bad in a particular episode.

Noodle, if your theory is correct, do you think Loz is already assimilated, or has a chance at being saved?

Why would Loz suggest recuirtment if he himself was in the process of being or already recruited? Seems you are trying to focus fire on the messenger you borg sympathizer.

I realize this wasn't aimed at me, but in the two games I've played with a silencing role(how experienced am I!!) the silence was either a mafia power in addition to their main NKing, or done by a different party.

So to assume he's a mafia in waiting is a bit of a leap I think.

Just trying to help Noodle expand on his theory.
