How do people get SO rich?

How do you get rich? Roll charms, and find keys!

I have my own little story of getting rich.

I think the key to me getting rich was the "keys" and "pgems". I started out as a noob in the current ladder season, and made a level 91 bonemancer. I played with him for about 3 weeks and then realized he has problems which cannot be solved. This prompted me to move to summoner.

Now a summoner necro rocks, this is all I can say. This guy is wearing 518 magic find and still good resists and godly killing speed. Three weeks with summoner and I was rich. I didn't even realize that I now have enigma, shako, torch, annihilus, skiller lifer gcs, and many spare high runes.

My easy way of getting all those high runes was very simple - Do key runs, collect three keysets. Then beat all mini-ubers in one game, and collect an organ set. Then sell the organ set for a high rune. I used to get one high rune every 3 days, so you can easily imagine!

Also my pgems got me few pul runes, and later I started rolling charms. I got some really neat charms that sold for few hrs as well.

Summary: Pgems and keys can get you rich quickly.

I usually never care for this topic, as the person who began the thread was looking for methods and information, and other people just come along purely to brag.

While we may be impressed by the accumulated wealth, it's simply not the place to show off, really. It seems awfully... "bnet-ish". At least provide a method behind it all... in detail.

Theres been some pretty nice ways listed, personally I like the key collecting method, since you don't need to load up on MF to run for keys.

Sides... it's fun to brag every once in awhile =)

Personally MFing just annoys me now, heh.

You're my hero

To answer the OPs question, I find that a little bit of luck is nice, but generally knowing what's desireable and what isn't goes a long way as well. Many people don't bother picking up rares of any type when in reality rares wind up being the most valuable items in the game.

Running nm council and meph is probably one of the easier ways to get to a point where becoming wealthy is "easy." Gamble all the gold you collect on ammys/rings/circlets, cube all the flawless gems, keep the skillers, etc until you get to the point where running hell council and meph are fairly easy. The items they drop are generally valuable, but do throw in pindle runs, he can drop some very high end items.

Getting to the point where the guy you talked about is is fairly difficult; a site that shall remain nameless makes it somewhat easier, but collecting all those items legitly is very hard. More than likely several of those items were store-bought.

@Everyone that's coming in here to brag, please keep in mind that there are people that play this game that are wealthy beyond all belief and, relatively, your 10 hrs, 3 nigmas, 2 griefs, and a patridge in a pear tree are nothing but a pittance. That's nice you have some wealth, but if you're going to take the time to brag, brag about items people are actually awed by, not common runewords.

That still falls in the runeword category. Everyone has seen a perfect grifs, ebotdz, faith gmb, coa etc. Show me your 2/3/2/10 rare pelt and I'll be impressed, but until then, please refrain from being a braggart.

I hear people talk about 1 hr for organset? this can surely not be europe? I see people trying to sell unid torches for ist and not succeed so i dont understand all this hype. Maybe i missed out on something 8)

can someone tell me what the easiest and cheapest char is to do keyruns

Honestly, it's a sorc if you're looking for absolute cheapest... probably a dual tree (meteorb or something). If you're willing to purchase everything to make an enigma, a skelemancer can get the job done extremely well, while the rest of his gear is very cheap, costing mere pgems.

If you're looking for the absolute most effective, I'd probably say hammerdin or light sorc, of which I prefer light sorc (having tried all of these builds for this purpose), although the light sorc is probably the most expensive as you'll need an infinity to be most effective.

sorry for posting my question in this forum i thought maybe this discussion was already done i ll make maybe make a new thread about it

Well, with no disrespect, your posts are fairly cocky. I guess it's not too bad to be that way when you're apparently as rich as you are, but you'll gain more respect through helping the other less fortunate realize how they can do the same, rather than just rubbing it in their face multiple times within the same thread.

Just a thought.
