all runewords self made

full stock of pcombats/lite gcs

how do i do it?

TRADING

no, not trading 24/7

but making IMMENSE profit and sometimes luck

From personal experience the self rushing hellforges are very profitable, though I've never been able to do it solo (always needed a friend) until this ladder season.

I'm actually thinking about heading back to Classic and doing rushes that way. A friend and I tried it for awhile, but I got side tracked with other stuff.

Besides Hellforge rushing, I also ran DKeys constantly last season -- there was a point that I had a mule character (minus a cube and space for 3 dkeys) completely full of dkeys. Eventually those turned into other keys, then organs.

Organs/Keys trade surprisingly well.

I would like to note to that, I no longer actually MF constantly unless it's specifically for myself. There's just no reason to anymore, since Keys/Pgems can be traded for most anything.

Not to say MFing is bad, since without them, I'd be stuck =p

I second trading to, though I'm pretty bad at it. I trade basically only here, since public trading on battle.net aggravates the 'hell' outta me. Though it can be nice for quick things like '3pgems 4 sol' type of stuff.

I was beyond lucky this ladder. I restarted after a 3 year hiatus and caught the ladder reset about 2 months in.

I got lucky and found a cool guy that hooked me up with starter items. I used them to level up and mf a bit, but not too much. I eventually found a 4os eth thresher and, in the long run, made a perfect AP Fort from it.

I then found an eth 4os CV and, in the long run, turned that into a 40/383 grief.

I've found 2 hoz from Hell Meph.

Many key runs and got a mid-lvl ptorch and a 18/20 storch.

I also got lucky a few times with games where people are quitting and giving away all their items. I've taken the following off them:

CoA
soj
wisp
enigmas
hoz's
runes
etc, etc

I guess I'm semi-rich in game now. I've got a fully decked out 1pt smiter, auradin (cost 7 hrs to make, like everyone knows), hammerdin with all the goodies).

Now, I'm just going to farm torches... this game is so boring now. I don't want to quit and basically void all my time and effort, so I'll hang in there and do something new every now and then.

Without starting another 'I am teh gozu rich guy' post, I've managed to accumulate most of what I need to gear up my characters and purchase the odd rush etc.

The only two factors to consider as far as I can see are MFing and patience. Get a reasonable MF char (usually a caster) up and running as soon as you can and spend as much time MFing as you can. The more you save, the better your gear and the more efficiently you can MF. It then becomes a self-fulfilling cycle of endless runs and eventually you will want to kill your Sorceress :-(

it takes time , alot of it, or you can break the piggy. that guy looks like hes either spent alot of time d2ing or he just bought his items. Peth tits and P 5/5 grifins ( i bet it was all perf even def as well).

I guess i cant complain, this ladder so far ive found 2 sojs 26 maras wisp projector like 4 shakos from mef...i dont understand that? 4 shakos not 1 hoz darn do they have close to the same drop ratio?

Nah. The odds of getting a HoZ are worst since class specific items drop less than regulars.

Btw, I got my riches running Mephisto. Early in the season I had some fairly expensive items that could have gotten me a lot. I'm not really into that sorta thing, so the items just rot of my mules.

Here is a small list of proven ways to increase your fortune:

1). Keyruns. This is a guaranteed way to increase your wealth. You will need the proper build and equipment, but it shouldn't cost you much. Countess, Summoner, and Nihl are easy, you just have to figure out the patterns for the maps. This method takes time and patience, but you will be rewarded. If you want the most bang for your keys, you may want to collect organs and sell them as sets.

Ideally, you want to reach the highest breakpoints for teleport, but make due with what you can afford.

2). Midlevel Super-Unique Boss Runs. Mephisto, Diablo, Andariel, Shenk, Eldritch, and Travincal can drop fairly high level items. Maras, Hoz, Sojs, Arachnids, etc can be had from these. I usually sell the perfect versions of these items and use an 'inferior' version for profit. If you find items worth pgems, make a game called 'X-item 4 x-pgems' while you are doing runs ('Shaftstop4 8pgms' for example). This way you're making currency while MF-ing and finding a use for low lvl items.

3). Highlevel Super-Unique Boss Runs, or Baal MF runs. Baal can drop some very valuable items (Crown of Ages, Griffons). It will take some time, but valuables will drop eventually from Baal. The two aforementioned items alone can net you a respectful fortune if you get good rolls on them.

SoJ = 1.5 to 2hrs on ESCL as a reference. 1os CoA = 2-4 hrs. 2os 15dr CoA = 10+ hrs. 2os 15dr, 30res CoA = 20-25 hrs. My point is, that one item can turn the tide from eating at Harrograth's Cart-Horse Diner, or Lut Goleins' 5star BBQ steak house. The same example applies to Griffons, as it goes for comparable rates (although even a crappy Griffons will go for alot).

Highly valuable Runeword items are also a benefit of doing Baal runs. Baal's minions can drop everything in the game, so there's a chance (an astronomically small chance), that an etheral Vortex shield with resists (for example) could drop. Eth ZA, CB, polearms, etc are fair game. Superior version of sought after items goes for that much more.

If you find an Eth Vortex Shield with 40+ resists, glitch that baby. If you roll a 500 def one with 4os, you just made a fortune right there. 20+hrs easy.

4). Desperate People. Find the right buyer, especially at night when there aren't many trades going on. That is when people are usually desperate. If someone is paying 2 or 3 times what something is worth, make the trade happen.

Moral of the story: Luck, luck, luck, hardwork, and patience (with a hint of knowledge) will land you 2 barbarian, hot mommas to warm you up during those cold winter Harrogath months. Maybe even a 4 x 40/15ias'd, well hung Stallion to impress Anya (or Mala if you're into that kind of stuff ><).

lol that was one of the more funny posts ive read. but i think thak already life "tapped" anya ages ago.

of all the methods i think keys are the most consistant. though i have found 2 eth hozs from hell andy.

Couldn't agree more. To reiterate what I said in my earlier posts, key runs are the easiest way to obtain wealth. The 1-point smiter is extremely cheap, and the majority of the gear can be obtained through pgems and low-mid runes. Then make a cheap sorceress to get the keys, and for every organ set you get, you can get one high rune on battle.net.

This is an easier way to stray away from the "luck-based" MFing and finding profitable trades from 'desperate' people. At least begin this way, and then everything will become more or less affordable. I can speak from experience as it's how I've obtained ALL of my upper-end runewords.

Another good way to go about this is to buy 3 keysets for a pul each (or Um + Pul for all 3), and use them to get the organset/unidentified torch, and then sell that for a HR. That HR can then net you 5 keysets. Use 3 of those keysets and get another HR, and you'll have an immediate profit of 2 keysets for each time you do this.

collect PGems, trade them off for Fal/Lem/Pul runes on the forums

transmute, get UM runes, transmute again, get MAL runes (there u go! a HR! all it took was about 4 Puls-->8 Lems --> 16 Fals)

rush people for their forges (get Ko-Gul runes, trade/transmute, get HRs)

thats how i did it back in ladder 2 and 3, im currently working hard on my hammerdin to be able to do that again, just missing a ptorch and hoz now hehe

hope this helps

Tranmute ums into mals? That's a bit detrimental to their value. Well, on east ladder which I believe you play. Anyways, mal is only 1/2 hr.

True... I've traded Um + Pul for a Mal before... generally Pul is valued at 40 pgems, Um is valued at 80 pgems, and Mal is valued at 120 pgems, not 160.

Two Um runes are definitely worth more than a Mal, at least on US East SCL.

However, definitely cube your Fals into Lems, and even your Lems into Puls if you wish, but I would stop cubing once you hit an Um, unless you have two Guls and need a Vex. Other than that Vex through Zod are generally worth the same right now.

i made a very tidy pile of pixels last ladder through nihlathak running with 0% MF.

d-keys are hard currency and with 0% MF i found a lot of nice socketable gear along the way. i believe my best find was probably a 4os/14ed GMB. which i traded off for three 35+ life shadow GC's and a shadow FHR gc.

re-rolling pally spirits until i got 35%fcr was also a nice little earner.

i've said this before in other threads but for me the best way is to do mf runs while also trading. first try to buy something popular and expensive (if you really want to get rich don't bother trading stuff like shako and what not) for as cheap as possible of course, light skiller with 30+ life for example and make game called o light sk 3x life or what ever and keep clearing places from mobs (once you're done make new game).when a player joins try to sell that popular skiller for overprice. might take some time but someone will buy it eventually, trust me.

this way there's more exitement in the neverending mob killing as you can make a huge profit out of a trade in no time. good luck!

Many, many MF runs. For instance, today my good friend mephy finally gave me the HoZ he denied me for so long. Time to finally make a pal.

i dont get how you guys turn torches into hrs (apparantly fast) i've been trying to trade off a unid torch for a hr for 2 hours now ^^ its all about pateince i know but... CAIN IS CALLING ME

.. lol.

Yes I remember you saying in #useast-dclone that you were making games called unid torch 4 pul and still nobody was joining. :p

Hell Baal runs are always good. Just sit and leach, leveling your char, and look for socketables and magics. Also, check malah at the beginning of every run, people sell some AMAZING items, because so many of them have no idea what is actually good. I have found fcr rings that way that I turned around and sold for 15 hr's. Pubs have no idea what is actually good, and just look for the golds and yellows on the floor.
