Re: Green with Envy II Tournament
Wow! That act was scary. I could use PS on very few of the LE bosses. (What do you expect with 1% lightning resistance?
I can get it up to 19% with Fade, and to 27% if I also borrow Isenhart´s Parry from Narphet.)
Sometimes I could come in behind the tanking Shadow and and arrange a big fire patch at a spot where I thought the LE boss would move later. If it did, I often used Mind Blast to hold it there until it died (Shadow was usually dead by this time, so I had no tank). Other times, especially against small monsters (easy to knock back) I used Blade Fury: like this. Here is one instance where the Knockback from Cleglaw´s gloves is useful.
It wasn´t just the LE bosses, there were many many nasty lightning spitter packs as well. Multishot Fouldog was just the first. Cloak of Shadows was a big help against them. My Shadow Warrior was far too fragile for my taste vs many of these bosses. That has to be remedied. Now that PS is maxed, I will pump Shadow Warrior a lot. If I survive through Act II, SW will be level 13 against Duriel. I hope that will at least let her survive longer than the casting delay...otherwise I may be in deep trouble. :scared:
Some pretty scary moments against Andariel, but have I fought her somewhat recently with worse equipment in the 'Bounty Hunter´s Heaven' tournament. I focused on bringing down 2-3 Meteors no matter how many potion I had to drink, then run small circles around Andariel so she stood in the flames but could not hit me in melee. Three such treatments and she was done for. She really does not like fire...
She dropped Skewer of Krintiz and five rares. Bah.
One more green in the act: Tancred´s Spine. I had to equip Isenhart´s shield in order to be strong enough to wear it. Once it´s on, it stays because of the +STR. The partial bonuses are too minor to offset the loss of 8% resist all from my Isenhart´s combo:
* +Defense
* 15 lightning damage
* +20 mana
My cold resist is good enough with it, so I may wear it if I make it to Duriel. That +40 life on the armor is not bad.
Speaking about life; I have avoided putting more in DEX for a while now. Shield block percentage is now exactly what the shield says.
If I am going to have crappy resists for a long time, I have to get a hefty life pool!
