Grats D2 for the win!

Zelda is staying at an average of just under 500 votes above D2, I suggest people should get on b.net and let the people know, encourage them to vote :D that's what I've been doing :)
If you looked at the total votes for Zelda in it's last win it was about 5000, whereas Diablo II had 10,000!! So I predict that Zelda fans will eventually run out while Diablo presses foward! :D

u are probably right shutupdangit, Zelda will likely run out of steam, however in the console world OoT is sometimes called the greatest game of all, and I think the problem is some who have played both games admit OoT is the better game. At this point in the contest some people will put aside some loyalties if it comes up against a game they liked better, since now that Mario Kart is out, all the games are good now. If D2 pulls this out for instance, and Half-life beats Halo (likely), I'll go against D2 for the first time and vote for Half-life, simply because I've played both and I think HL is the better game. D2 is better than lots of games, and I voted that way, but I think HL will take alot of D2 fans to its side. In fact, much as I love Doom and D2, I think HL is gonna win this, as was predicted at Gamespy.

First though D2 seems to have its hands full with OoT. There have been more votes cast already in this battle then half the contests in this tournament and its got a long way to go!

Zelda seems to finally be losing steam, looks like D2 is finally closing the gap, Zelda may have hit its voting ceiling.

Yeah I have played both, and they're both some of my all-time fav games! I geuss I'm just not much of a fantasy-fairy fan. I do admit it is sad to watch such a legendary game to lose to some new clicker game...
Hey have you ever thought that this whole thing may be unfair toward console games, because it's internet voting, and all? I mean, much more PC pplz probably know about this than the console players...

Looks like the gap's gone from about 500 to 300, here we go :)

Erm, how do you people see how many votes each has? Where do you find the numbers? All i see are the little dots to fill in, and when I click to vote, it simply refreshes the page, with the same screen, with the dots. It doesn't give me any indication that I have voted...Is something wrong?

Scroll down the page, its right below the vote button.

Like this --

Zelda ==================== 6810
Diablo ================== 6700

Ya you have to be a member to vote and view the poll. Join today and help the cause! Make sure you remove the ?voted=1 from the page, and vote more than once!! ~psy

No you don't have to be a member I voted, not a member, I'm certain it counted, and I see the graph fine. You using Internet Explorer latest version?

Looks like D2 has caught up, anyone's game now.

I actually went over to Gamespy to read some of their forums some time ago. I was convinced 100% that many people there would vote against D2 because SC lost, or Fallout 2 lost, or even KotoR lost. There are a lot of people who would like to see D2 lose.

Anyways, for everyone who is dying to see D2 win, the gap is now well less then 100 votes. D2 should pull ahead in maybe a couple hours. And Asia is now awake and maybe some of them will know about Gamespy to vote.

And as for TFT vs BW, I really can't say which one required more skill since I never really mastered either. Although I can see BW requireing more skill over such things as micro management. If you are not playing at the highest level of competition, micro isn't going to make too much of a difference in BW. But if we are talking about the elitists, then BW would be harder purely because there is at least twice as many units in play. Since BW has been out much longer, there hasn't been enough time for TFT players to develop as many or as clever tactics as found in BW. I'm sure that as the player base increases and players become more experienced/better, these things will happen. And who cares? Blizzard roxxors my boxxors !!! I'm just thankful that they were around to make my favorite games of all time.

HOLY COW IT'S CLOSE!! It's like, 20 votes apart!!
Kinda reminds me of a car race when each car is passing the other and then vice-versa. Zelda already has 1000 more votes than it's highest vote number before. Wow.

I'll bet it can't beat 10,000 :D
GO DIABLO II!! :clap:

Edit: Um.. wait a second... I voted earlier today, and I tried to vote again for d2 just now, and it said accepted?!? What's up with THAT??

If I judge this competition on the basis of pure objective quality, I would vote for Zelda, easily. More professional presentation, art & design, and more thoughtful and rounded game mechanics. Though I've played D2 hundreds of hours more.

OoT is definitely considered a classic in the console world, perhaps even THE Classic. I'm not voting in this contest since I didn't play OoT (maybe on my nephews Gamecube some time when it comes out) and I got a feeling I might actually like it better than D2 if I played it.

D2 and Blizzard (who have never made a less than excellent game, and yes Starcraft and D2 are their best ever IMO) have legions of fans, and since this poll is on the internet, PC games have a home-field advantage over consoles.

WHOA!! We just fell behind 300 votes!!! Quick logon to bnet encourage ppl!!

(I think all the japanese ppl are voting for Zelda now :P)

Wow, this seems to be a tough one! :eek:

D2 is in the lead with a couple of dozen votes right now though. :)

I think I'll have to go tell another couple of hundred D2 fans about it in another forum. :)
