@Vivi - I just deleted a wall of text, but basically, I know you mean well, but it's fine, and my situation, and what you seem to think my situation is, are completely different There is nothing affecting my health negatively right now. I am not suffering from long-term stress, no depression, no mental illness. It was (past tense) a period where I had too much on, a couple burdens dropped on me suddenly, and I had little time to myself to recharge. I was burdened by events that everyone suffers now and again, and just needed a day off, as I was feeling (past tense) overwhelmed and stressed out.
I took sick leave (when I was okay with taking it off unpaid due to late notice,) which is allowable for personal time based on being ill - whether mental, physical, cold/flu/virus, or illness (not hangovers.) As to it being "not on" for being stressed out, I find that, in my case, incorrect. If I were to do it every month, or regularly, fine, but that is not my case. I am not suffering from long-term stress or depression. There is nothing (present tense) 'affecting my health,' and all that I required was one quiet day (could've been a weekend, but I had a family gathering I didn't want to attend, which prevented me from recharging,) to relax and recharge.
