Yay, weekend!
My wife's birthday today, having some friends over tomorrow. No D2, but a fun evening nonetheless!
Lessee what's on tap tonight: Mmmm, Guinness, Murphy's, Grimbergen, Leffe, Duvels and Hoegaarden. One each will do nicely!
OT: Anybody here ever had experience with a 1.09 poisin? Looks like I need to turn Katana into one, as it's the only damage-dealing skill in the Shadow Disc. tree. Guess I'll have to get me a max-socket bow and start collecting Tal's.
 
L_W: Somehow, at this rate,I doubt she'll make it much past Act I Hell. If she does, though, I'll definitely keep that in mind.

Slowpoke: TS is my backup, and it's ALWAYS teamed with CL. It has been more than quite useful to take out enemies that are just outside of my peripheral vision, or those that would've suprise-attacked me while taking on a Champ pack. TS/CL is a wonderful combination so far...will keep you posted if I find shortcomings.

Oh, and for the record, I LOATHE Stygian Dolls. Died to three of 'em going off in a row, once. Of course, the ones in question were arrayed around me in a nearly perfect triangle, and my Shadow (this was with an Assassin) had cast Death Sentry and killed two Stygies nearby.

Well, I'm going to sit back and relax for a bit. Barkeep, a pomegranate juice, please.

Barkeep, I'll settle for an early-morning Earl Grey. Had a bit of a long trip yesterday, managed to sleep for about twelve hours straight when we got back. With all hope and good faith, Lexi will be stepping back out again.

In the meanwhile, I'm going to relax and drink my tea.

Oh, and LowLander: Does Poison really do that much more damage? I didn't think it did, in either version. Good luck, though--what level is she, and where is she? <~has done a bit of poison work

hum some poison chars in 1.10 can be quite nice

i just calculated what my LF/PJ zon would deal for PJ damage

it was :surprise:

if i got it right it would be 30k poison damage over 14.6 sec with i consider very nice

Yes I think I recall a Poizon?

Katana is the first ever Assassin I started, as a non-official "silly build" character. She's shadow-tree only, as you no doubt surmised, HC, of course, and sort-of an experiment gone haywire. I thought she'd never last past Andy at first, but she did- barely, but OK. Then she survived Duriel, had a helluva time beating Mephy, but succeeded, and by the time Big-D came along, ShadowMaster was introduced. So Diablo went down, as did Baal himself.

She's now Lvl 44, btw, Act-1 NM, untwinked.

Problem is, the only damage-enhancing skill in that tree (And one I thought I would never reach, but obviously did) is Venom.

So, according to the "Tao of poison" the way to go is a bow, max. sockets, and Tals or P_emeralds. Slow but sure. Don't need it immediately, just made a "strength" Quhab, it's just something I've never done before, and I popped the question because I seemed to remember Shaks having a successfull Poizon.

Anyhow, rambled on too long.

seems like a intresting build lowlander and in HC :thumbsup:

i try to plan ahead for the glooms as they are Lightning immune/poison immune if i recall right.

must find a way to handle such things
 
I don't think of her as a "build", she's more like an accident.

She'll probably die against NM Andariel, sometime tonight. But she's been a blast to play, so far has gotten me a HC stash of some 250 items (all low level, of course), and just in case she survives, I need some "way ahead".

I'll probably go for a max-socketed Tal'd bow of some description, keep the "Strength" Quhab on switch, with a RalOrtTal shield for resists, and use the next Amn I get in a Blood amulet- and just hope the leech works out OK.

*whips up the Shalakshmiyin Special for LowLander* Here you go...a small bottle should keep you going for a day and a half without ceasing. Anything larger than a large bottle would probably be illegal, due to caffeine content.

Wish I could tell you about the Poizon...took her into 1.10, and she SUCKS! Guess a good thing can't last forever...*shrugs*

Well, I would have to say that a long weekend is just the best way to start the week. I managed to push my tourney Amazon through to Act III, and her merc didn't even die to Duriel. I also made a bit of progress on my new SPL HC sorceress, taking her past the Countess. I'm finding Fireball fun to play with, and I can see how it could be quite addicting. She will eventually become my MFer, if she can survive long enough.

So here's to long weekends - may we get even more of them! :drink:

Trying to work through with two Rangers--had to do something COMPLETELY different. Partly because it's been a while since I've played the Paladin class, but also because I want to be sure I'm not a complete and utter failure with them. Current research:

1.) P8 = bow doing pittance damage. Use Crossbow?

2.) Despite pumping DEX, Pally can't aim. Always hits on second shot. Will probably need Vigor, at some point, though I'm depending on Might at the moment.

In other news...nothing much is going on.

Barkeep, I'll take a pomegranate juice. Will probably get back to work on Cailleach today, if I'm not distracted by Bowen.

slowly but surely my progress with Kaalor the Barbarian is progressing. Now lvl 36, he has 7 points in WW (thanks to Bloodletter) but I still can't figure out how to use it more effectively than Concentrate. He quite easily stomped normal Diablo last night. Granted, after actually taking damage from Lord de Sais (sp?) I got paranoid and dropped from /players 8 to /players 1 although I probably needn't have worried. But last time I faced him, with my (untwinked) MA 'sin and my partner's bowazon at /players 8, we got our collective buts handed to us. Repeatedly. I guess twinking helps ...alot.
Big D dropped some useless rares, IK helm and Sigon's gloves for my trouble. Kaalor has now found all of the Sigon's set on his own... of course, he stopped using it midway through act III. Too bad you can't upgrade sets like uniques. might actually make them useful.

Took care of Shenk before bed last night too. Frozen highland is just too damn big. got a production meeting for this weekend's filming tody, so probably no Diablo until tomorrow

I heard you could get some pretty good coffee in here. I'll have a triple espresso. I was up kinda late questing last night (thought it was about time to Pat little Araknis). I got as far as knocking off Nihlthak and figured I was too tired to go traipsing through all that snow and ice so called it a night.
