Etdlahq Memorial Bar - your shelter from forum crashes

"continues rambling to the seemingly empty bar"

...and that damn mercenary, oh he can get real stubborn... if he only would wear the boots I would give him but noo... who in the right mind would want to walk barefoot on Devilkin corpses? Where does Greiz get these guys...

Well the devilkin should beware because I'm about to give them a lesson...

"starts getting on his feet wavering and light headed"

"after looking for the waypoint under his chair and behind the counter gives up"

Well the day is still young, so might as well have another one of those excellent bottled coffee things.

"finds another dusty dark bottle and pays up"

Come to think of it this tastes almost like the beer Nikolai I once had...

"starts pondering why his bottled coffee tastes like beer and thinks back to the good old days"

"rubbs dust off the bottle"

Nikolai! I think I'm staying for a while. Two old friends, like the old times.

"notices his mumbling is getting louder and louder"

Glad there weren't any Elite Uniques listening in might have bored some.

Well the beers almost gone and im all out of gems so back to The Pit (no reference to any other furry thread intended) I must go.

"remembers seeing many dusty bottles and remembers being the only one in the bar"

Might come by anothertime...

"savors the smooth taste of the beer"

Hopefully soon, hope those Devilkin have their gem pouches with them because I think I shall raid them shortly if I get my mercenary to work with me
"mumbles obsenities and curses the suicidal sidekick he has to work with"

"gets up to take a leak and notices waypoint"

Ahh I wondered how come I came across the sea so quick!

"takes waypoint to outer cloister with killing in mind"

Here I come, beware my breath of death!

Wow. Thanks for the bumping, forcefeedback! :D

Stopped at our apartment last night, while sig. other was working on homework and I tended to a few things. Was starting to level my mercenary last night, and *almost* got started on Act III (he's lvl21 now)...until the water heater went crazy. Started spittin' water like a faucet, it did, and wouldn't quit. We had to call the gate guard (on the other side of the complex) to come in and manhandle the water valve, because we couldn't move it. I would guess about seven to nine buckets of water came out of that thing before we finally got it stopped. (Okay, "stopped" is relative...it slowed to a slight trickle.) Maintenance came ten minutes later, checked it out. Had his suspicions, but he didn't have any of his equipment with him, so he's looking into it today. Good news is that, even if we have to replace the whole thing, it won't cost us a dime. (I guess our landlord eats the whole cost of repairs, etc.) Now...here's to hoping we got most of the water up out of the carpet last night. At least it was hot water, so much of it evaporated...I hope. *crosses fingers*

Boss, I'll take a Strawberry Daiquiri, followed by a strawberry limeade. Keeping it relatively low today.

Water accidents are no fun, Shalak, and trust me, I KNOW. Hope all gets taken care of for you without any hassle.

Heheh... barkeep, a Mike's, if you please. Tonight is the Anti-Valentine's party I'm hosting at the house, and this lil' drink will be the first of many.

*puts on some headphones and jams out at a table in the corner*

Hey all, sorta new around here so let me buy everyone a round..on durf.

*looks around and realizes he's the only one in the bar and shrugs*

Not sure what I want, so lets just start from the top and give me one of everything you've got.

there is a infinite number of beewery at this bar so you will get mighy drunk if you try to drink it all ;)

and your not alone you just happened to walk in where the rest of us where out

As in real life, I'm always around, but only say anything if I have something important to say.

Or something humourous/sarcastic, of course :)

LoneWolf, offering Paradox an infinite (of any kind) was intentional, I hope?

Anyhow, recovering from a flue attack. I guess I'll have a.... mmm, OK, Hot Paddy's, lemon and honey. 'bout a half-pint should do......

Ah...

Today's the last day of the whole house-sitting thing. Boss, I'll take a Guiness for my victory. Then I'll take another for good luck, as I need to cube up a huge bunch of PAmethysts to make some decent caster items. (Found some nice low-level gloves that even had great low-level mods when crafted--unfortunately, lvlreq jumped to 28, so they were sold.) I don't believe I have that many Amethysts to work with in the first place, but it's a shot. *shrugs*

Oh, and KungPoo: I believe I remember you mentioning your incident. Thankfully, all seems to be well on our end, though the maintenance guy never left us a note saying whether or not we'd need the new water heater. Until Monday afternoon/evening, I'm just going to assume we are, and that he's setting things up (seeing as we haven't been home, and he said the earliest he could get on it was Monday morning). Aside from that, things are going well, and the water heater seems to be quiet.

Well, I'm off for now. Must wrap up some things here before heading back to our place.

of course lowlander it was the whole idea

HA! I finally have a character in Hell! Maduk- I'm sorry, Champion Marduk, just reached Hell and is halfway through Act 1. Just for fun, before I started I bumped it up to players eight and ran in like a maniac. After watching a group of Champion Quill Rats kill my merc in about four seconds I ran like hell. (Like hell. I made a funny!) It took ten mintes to convince Marduk to come out from underneath Gheez's wagon, but after that he went okay on players one. Only died once so far, when a fire-enchanted Hungry Dead exploded on the other side of a door where I couldn't see him. Felt the explosion though, I felt that real good.

Barkeep, Root Beer.

I don't know why I go back. Maybe it's because I don't want to lose what I have. I can't stand it, though. Children who cannot speak the english language (or their own language, for that matter) well should not be alowed near a computer. It ought to be a law. I can see if you have english as a second language and you are having a hard time expressing yourself, hell, english is my first language and I often times find myself hard pressed to express myself, but to completely obliterate it to that extent is just pathetic. People who don't know what they are doing, calling those who do and utilize what they deem "lesser tactics" as n00b. People who have all kinds of gear but no brains to use them properly.

B.net calls... As much as I escape into the bliss of Single Player, I keep being drawn back, even if just for a few minuites. I have become tainted.

Congratulations, Seryant.

You must resist the lure of the dark side, Ravenforce. :D

I didn't have much D2 time over the weekend (although I managed to win all four of the baseball games I was involved in), only enough, in fact to kill off my HC sorc. She was level 49 in act I NM, and got slaughtered by a bunch of cold enchanted extra strong dark archers. She died in the time between me seeing her life rapidly drop and moving my hand to the panic button. A tough lesson to learn, as it all happened so quickly.

So I'll just stop in for a few sad drinks to mourn her loss. :drink:

Mage11: Sorry for your loss... I'll drink to that!

Keep' I'll have a pint of Guinness. (always liked british beer and their crazy anti-metric system)

Here's to Mage11's Sorceress... Sweet dreams... R.I.P.

Realizes his wussy sorc is in her undergarments
Well you know accidents happen and not everybody has the guts to pass on to the unknown(hc) *blushes*

I curse The Pit and it's demonic critters! My mercenary is positively stinking, I mean litterally. Even after getting killed (multiple times in a row) the stink of his bodily fluids and solids stays and every time upon meeting ANY resistance in The Pit it multiplies into an unbearable stench. Geez I guess I could stop feeding him (his on a extremely rich diet of Super healing pots and rejuvination pots), but I think that would serve his purpose and relieve him faster of his services (until I resurrect him).

*burp* Excellent beer! Barkeep ill think I'll have another one.

*Wonders why the forums are acting up*

Where is it... Not here?! Has anyone seen the Staff of Squid repellance (31/32)charges or something like it? I think the squid ate it in the Great forum wipe III (or was it II). In any case there is great need and any hero who could repel the squid from his strangling grasp on the forums would be awarded many drinks I am sure (I think Durfs credit card is still lying around here).

Anyway, I pray to you cable connection and packet sending Gods speed and hope you elude the Giant squids grasp...

Walks in shyly and sits down at a table in the back.

*orders a Rum & Coke*

Man, I thought last weekend was bad with my HD crash, but this weekend and next few weeks will be undoubtable worse.... I got news last Friday that I have been cut back to 20hrs a week at work. The company is having money troubles... all I know is now I will too! This Monday, 2/16/04, is the first day of my reduced hours to, of course, last indefinately.

*gulps down his drink and orders another*

Guess a trip to the unemployment office will be in the near future. :(

Sorry to hear about your job, Johnny. Have another rum & coke on me. :drink:

On the bright side, does this mean you will have more time for D2?

All we need to hold off the squid is for Speary to return.

Hmm. Since there's a couple of Guinness drinkers around here, I guess I'll join them. No D2 for me last night, as I don't want to risk losing more than one HC character in a week. It's good to have a (small) break every now and then too. :teeth:

*le sigh*

Sorry about the lack of posts on my end...would've posted Sunday night, had I not been distracted by other things.

Alex has been upgraded to Slayer status, and is owning anything that isn't Lightning Immune. (Of course, her being in Act I, this isn't terribly difficult.) She has done all of this solo, relying on only the lightning tree to get her safely around. (She wasted five points in Warmth, but we won't talk about that--she's over it already.) Can she go to Champion solo, using CL and Thunderstorm as her main attacks? We'll see, my friends, we'll see....

Barkeep, I'll take a fuzzy navel for my victory, followed by a pineapple juice. Now, I must find stuff to give resists, for she is now sorely lacking (but at least they're all in the positives. :D)

TwoPaws,
Shalakshmiyin

Hi there, Lady S. Don't worry about the lack of posts - you can't spend all your life at the bar!

Good luck with your sorc. Just be careful of the archers - when they have extra strong or similar attacks, they can be deadly very quickly. I think that CL & Lightning can be pretty powerful, if mana intensive, attacks.

Not much D2 for me, but I'll be having something cool & refreshing, seeing as it's so hot over here (and they had banned air conditioners this morning - fortunately we're back now), so maybe a strawberry daquiri is in order.

Ehm...right... <~don't mind her, she's tired.

Barkeep, a Pineapple-Mango juice, please. I need a pick-me-up. A good friend of mine (and leader of my study group) is leaving town.

1.) I absolutely stink with goodbyes--have always hated 'em, as I'm a terrible emotional sap.

2.) I have concerns as to the fate of the study group. It's somewhat small, and I don't know of anyone off-hand who's ready to take over. (Well, anyone I know and trust, anyway.) I've really enjoyed it, though it's fairly new, and I don't want a good thing to fall by the wayside.

On that sad, sorry note, on to better things, before I hit a mood swing the size of a Tsunami.

Alex has only come on to two problems in Act I: CE's and Misshapen. The Misshapen aren't always bad, but they eat my merc like a side order. So do LE's, but that's a side issue. Cold-Enchanted monsters, due to my insanely low cold resist, take me down to 1/4 health whenever I'm in range.

On the flip side, thanks for the heads-up, Mage! :D

*takes off for the night* See y'all tomorrow.

TwoPaws,
Shalakshmiyin
