Etdlahq Memorial Bar - your shelter from forum crashes

all this chem talk makes me think of breaking bad, although I guess that isn't the kind of chemist you are, bpc :p

then again, if you are teaching it you might be walter white...

After slow day in the EMB yesterday i was excited to see so many new posts. Until i found out they're pretty much all talk about chemistry. :coffee:

I'm actually surprised nobody brought up the Olympics yet. Is nobody watching? Personally i don't care too much. Except for the speed skating on ice where the Dutch totally dominate this year.

Did ya catch that ludicrous display last night?

No I don't watch the Olympics, sorry!

Chemistry talk isn't enough. We need more. How bout some reductive amination y'all? ;)

I find most of it pretty boring tbh, except some hockey and curling (yes, I'm serious). I don't care much for summer olympics either..., don't follow much besides tennis and table-tennis there

better call saul will be an awesome show, I'm sure

The whole vocational chemistry field has been dumbed down to the absolute minimum a lab tech need to be able to do their job. I have to assess my students on things like their ability to run a test, know where to store the data and how to keep it secure, run calibration checks and OH&S. Even esoteric crap like teamwork and working in a respectful and inclusive manner.

I hear that. I had to contribute to spamming or be bored at work.
I don't follow the olympics - summer or winter. I follow some of the gymnastics, as I love movement and acrobatics - things the human body can do.
Other than that, just some tennis (Australian Open) and rugby in terms of sport.

At least you put in the effort to get things started.

After my hand holding up pretty good last weekend when playing D2, i tried to play a bit more yesterday. Unfortunately that didn't go as well. From the start it hurt slightly. After about half an hour it started to hurt more, so i finished the run and quit. Guess i won't be touching D2 for some days more. Maybe try again this weekend. I wish it would just get better!

What's the story with your hand, cyrax?

I fractured my radius (left hand, thankfully) last October, was on my bike going to work and there was an oil slick on the road (at 5:45 in the morning and some rain during the night no chance to see it...) just where the road makes a turn. Front wheel slipped and I crashed. Had a cast for 6 weeks, then physio up until early January. I felt pretty good about it and then two weeks ago it started to hurt again. Not that much, but enough to have me worried - mostly about long time consequences.... So I went to the clinic again last Thursday and I kid you not - that stupid b***** of a doc basically said "well, if you have pain you should take pain medication" and wanted to send me away like that. Maybe I should have broken one or two of her bones..., instead after some convincing she first sent me to take another x-ray and then a ct scan afterwards, since the x-ray didn't show much. Fracture isn't 100% yet, but it should be good, started new physio treatments yesterday and the therapist is pretty positive (incidentally he told me one of his daughters was treated by the same doc and that she was basically useless...).

Have ya tried a hand massage? I know a really good hand massage technique. Been using it for years!

And with satisfying results i bet!

What's the story with your hand, cyrax?

It's been hurting since late December. Most likely from gaming too much. So with my right hand it hurts to use the mouse. First i tried not gaming. That didn't help at all. Next thing was to stop using right hand for mouse at work. So i've been using my left hand exclusively for the past few weeks now, for anything to do with computers. While not going at the pace i'd like, it does improve.

Last weekend i could do about an hour of D2 before any pain. So i thought i'd try about the same amount yesterday. That appeared to be a bad idea. I hurt (slightly) from the start. And after about half an hour it got worse, so i quit immediately. Guess i'll be a lefty for some time longer. Which totally sucks since i want to get my necro moving!
