Around here we pretty much just call it by whatever we get normally. Generally Pepsi is the prevailing term, possibly because it is native, but Dr. Pepper or Mountain Dew or Coke are all socially acceptable as well.
My roommate calls it "pop". I laugh at my roommate.

I rarely drink soda (the proper term, you heathens). I don't buy it for our house, but I will order a Coke or a root beer if I go to a restaurant. I find that if I don't buy it, I don't miss it, but that I will drink it preferentially if there is soda in the house.
