Hmm, I must be a "nut job." :rolleyes:

Then again, I do collect different kinds of Japanese blades that I put to good use.

22 is a very small step above a decent pellet gun. I dont mind the idea of shooting some cans off a farmers fence. Also a 22 isnt going to kill anyone.

Gloc's, Tec 9's, AK-47's are a different story. These are designed for killing people and used in the miltary.

Ill tell you why it scares me having any average joe able to bare these types of arms, THERE ARE SO MANY NUT JOBS IN OUR SOCIETY. Atleast if a guy pulls a knife you can run. Anyone ever seen the movie "Fallen"?

Not just anyone can own these in the USA... Most high power weapons are available to Law Enforcement only, though high power weapons are available to others. To purchase class 3 firearms (assault weapons) you need to undergo an extensive background check and test, and usually these are reserved for law enforcement, ex-military, and gun collectors.
Sure there are lots of Glocs out there, nearly every police officer carries one.
And of course, a 22 can kill someone, just not as easily as say, my 7.62 Mosin can.

What about in Texas. You can walk in to a gun shop and buy a magnum and walk out with it in a holster? Same day buy. same day same day???

My girls won the game last night. There was quite the controversy on an umpire's judgement call. But we won and we play today for the tournament championship. We will either have first or second place. These kids have a lot of heart and I think they can win. But we do not know the other team at all. We have no idea what we'll be facing. So we'll see. Wish us luck. I'll be back tonight with all the news.

so did they come home with first or second place swag?

and his dad offered to give us an older one they had. Free aluminum canoe, vintage 1973 but still good condition and works well. wheeeeee!

a trick i learned with aluminum canoes...pack hot glue sticks under the seat...if you get a leak at a seam or rivet use a bic lighter to melt a dab of glue...it will get you home.

Or... You can buy any of these weapons from your neighbor. It wasn't to logn ago that these restrictions were put into place meaning there are many weapons of the assult kind that the government does not know who owns them. I am all for the right to own guns, but you must admit that there are some guns that server no purpose for other than the use of killing others.

First place! We won! WooHoo!!!

I told you these kids have a lot of heart. The game was close for the first two innings, then we took over. That's what I love about baseball. It can go any way until one team breaks out or it becomes a pitchers duel and anyone can win. The opposing team just didin't come with energy. They ran out of mana after the second inning. By the fourth inning, it was over. We played 5 before time ran out. Yes, 9 & 10 year old baseball/softball is timed. It was 100 degress F, and humid. It was hot out there and these kids played well again.

I was a nervous wreck, but it was better than Wednesday and Fridays game. Wednesday was the best game I have ever been involved in. Friday was just tough.

Well, it's back to being no ones in the next tournament which starts Monday. We play Wednesday night. Although I am sure some teams may want another crack at us. Many in the next one were in the last.

buy those girls a gallon of ice cream. :thumbsup:

Okay here's something I have a question about. I have never paid for anything online, that is to say I've never bought anything through the internet. Reason is, I don't trust putting my personal and credit card information online. But progress will continue and I can't put it off forever, so I thought about paypal. Also wanting to make a donation here to the forums. My question is, is paypal safe? I've heard stories, and quite frankly, I'm a little scared. I checked this out, and the last thing I need is to have my credit card account frozen with people being able to take out my money and I can't stop it. The place I looked is here:

http://www.paypalsucks.com/

I'm not sure if it's all true or not. It looks legit. Is there anyone here who has had problems? Would a merchant account be better? A merchant account seems safer, but is it as useful as paypal? Paypal seems to be everywhere, so it would seem to be easier to use. Opinions?

I don't know what to make of all that. I have heard of some of these stories. At the end of the day, you have to make your own decision. If I had a PP account, I would attach it to a second credit card with a low credit limit, say $1000, or $500. Make sure the credit card company doesn't raise the limit and then your liability is limited.

The fact is that PP is accepted in more online places than any other online peyment method, when a vendor doesn't accept credit cards.

If you want to donate to this site, PM a Pal member whom you know and ask them to donate in your name. It is done all the time. It was done for me a few years ago.

Time for some lighter OT material. Admit you should be banned ! :)

First of all, I don't believe you, but ...

Are you sure you didn't:

(ii) copy, photocopy, reproduce, translate, reverse engineer, modify, disassemble, or de-compile in whole or in part any Battle.net software;

Even if you did, you won't admit that you:

(v) use any third-party software to modify Battle.net to change game play, including, but not limited to cheats and/or hacks;

You must be a wierdo if you:

(viii) harass, threaten, stalk, embarrass, or cause distress, unwanted attention or discomfort upon another user of Battle.net or other person or entity; cheat during gameplay, including but not limited to modification of the game program files;

(ix) transmit or post sexually explicit images or other content which in the sole discretion of Blizzard is deemed to be offensive; nor shall you transmit any unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, hateful, racially, ethnically, or otherwise objectionable content;

Sometimes even if you don't mean to you can:

(xiv) intentionally or unintentionally violate any applicable local, state, national, or international law or regulation;

Even if you type too much you can get banned:

(xvi) "spam" by posting or sending more than one unsolicited message or piece of mail to a single address or in a chat area;

Or maybe for things you didn't even think of:

(xvii) create or maintain, under any circumstance, more than one simultaneous connection to Battle.net.

The first step to recovery is admitting that you have a problem.
GreyGhost dug trough the EULA to find some passages for us to reflect upon.

By (viii) and (ix) I probably should be banned aswell.
Since I have at times cause people on battle.net distress.
When people join a game I am in and just spam things like 'pp' or 'tp', I do tend to treat unkindly. Typing things like : "When you repeat yourself like that, you look just like a LoD reject. Too spammy for LoD, that has to mean something."
As for (ix), some of my character names are ... well ... let's call it creative. :)
No racial slurs mind you, I just like using words, which, if people look them up in the dictionary, have a second, usually vulgar meaning, bessides their mainstream accepted interpretations.

The above was quoted from this thread about the bansweepstakes :

Fortunately, last night I could still play, so I guess I am not that bad a violator. Mebbe because I profoundly dislike mh and such. :)
I do advocate a mh free gameplay. One doesn't really need mh, right ? Just make yourself a 48fhr,70fcr,max tele/orb sorc and you will never need to pollute your computer with mh and the likes.
Personally, I really suck at finding things, though I do slowly get better at recognising the patterns that govern the levelcreation of Cata and DoH. Still, most of the time I will have discovered the entire map before I find the way down in that last corner which I overlooked on a earlier pass of that section. sigh.
But I prefer that then taking the gaming(searching is part of the quests) out of the game.

Sometimes I wish I had a maphack in Act 3. :banghead:

Why? Just trav and meph is all you need. I really wish i had it for act 2. I can NEVER find the maggot lair. Even if you're a screen away, it won't show up on the map when practically everything else on the map does...

And about durance, just teleport clockwise along the edge of the map. The room with stairs down will be a 90 degree rotation clockwise from the wp room, and the stairs up will be 90 degree counterclockwise. All i know about andy is to hug the outside as well...

This is the OT thread. Let's get back off topic here.

There is already a thread called OMG! I got haxx0red! or something like that below. Please use that to discuss the cheaters who never did anything to violate the EULA.

Oh right, off topic, sorry.

Anyone know how those ipod holster things for cars work? Not the ones that go in the cigarette lighter, but the things that attach to ... somewhere? I told my girlfriend like a year ago that I'd make one for her out of duct tape in order to convince her not to spend another 20-50 dollars on yet another ipod accessory, and tomorrow is her birthday, and she just recently reminded me of it...

Her mom has already gotten her a lil protective wrap thing. I'm not sure if i'd have to take it off in order to make another holder, but I might anyways. What I'm thinking for the wrap body is pretty simple: protect the screen with a piece of overhead transparency, which i can liberate from work. I think I'll use that white protective tape for like injuries and whatever. It sticks well, and duct tape i could imagine getting gooey and sticky after being out in a car for a little while. I might add more transparancy in the body for support, but that still leaves the problem of how they attach to a car. Anyone know how they do that? I figure the project should take me less than the 3-4 hours after work that she'll be away at her lsat class...

Happy birthday to me, Happy birthday to me, I'm turning 37, but I feel like 93.

My birthday today guys. 37. I got a lot to be thankful for, 4 beautiful kids, great wife, and a good job. I hope I get what I want for my birthday, more of the same. Cheers.

Kev

Happy Birthday KWC, I hope you get what you're looking for, too. You're still a young guy. 37 is not old. Wait until you get to your mid 40's. Then you'll have days in which you'll feel 93. But then, how would you feel when you hit 55? 65?
