Best Scythe In USWest?

I traded my SoJ for this Scythe which I think is gg and no I didn't socket it was there when traded, is cold damge useful? Did I get ripped off? Is this the best scythe on Ladder USWest? What type of baba should I make with this? Is this worth 2 SoJ's?

Well, that pic is so small I cannot see the stats, but if it is socketed with a P amethyst, then that is good (Cold damage slows your enemies down, giving you more WW's)

Whats the ED ?
 
Pretty nice mods, and base fire dmg and high ar are good for speeder, on top of -30req. 200dmg is a bit low for an uber godly, but it is pretty nice considering its -30. I'd say it's SOJ+ at least.
 
wow, im glad I didn't get ripped. The thing is im making a pvp necro right now so to trade my SoJ for that wasn't really worthwhile as I can't be stuffed making a new barb.

Does anyone who plays on USWest wanna trade a SoJ for this.

I can't se why it is so good.. 200 dmg isent good. you can easy get an exec or pike, there is much better...

I wouldent even give soj for it, but thats IMO..
 
I agree gumle, you shouldn't be using a 200 damage weapon when you can have a hammerdin do 12k damage. :)

Seriously though.

You could get a exec, like everybody and have range 3.
Lances have lower min and you will need some speed if you encounter a PI which you must bezerk.

It just boils down to style. The scythe has it. :)

Most people here just prefer to not make cookie-cutter builds, but to experiment and try different things(In Diablo, this wasn't a come-on).

And a scythe has speed, so a scythe zealer just rocks, bessides looking very cool.
 
For a Grim Scythe, it's pretty hot. 200 Damage is so-so, but with the added -30 req and a free socket it's a very fair trade.

There's no doubt a Lance will always beat it in terms of usefulness though.

Actually, for pvm, I think I would prefer 55 durability rather then 25.
And for anything cept a WW, I think I would prefer a base [-10] weapon rather then a [20].
So 'Allways' might be a tad overstated.
Though I admit there are people that only play pvp and only do that with WW barbs, for them it would be allways. :)

imho Diablo 3 should contain a Dual wield Grimm Scythe Frenzy option.

Warrior is your scythe on west ladder or non-ladder? Can't really comment on the scythe's value unless i know.

On a side note about grim's - I do about 400 cs runs a week and have noticed grims dropping like crazy lately. Anyone else experiencing this?

If you DON'T see Grim Scythe's dropping like crazy, something is wrong. Specifically, they always have to be 10-90% ED and no -req.

which basically means +20 ice res!!



lots of blue scythes drop, but the most popular are the crappy spear-like weapons (something like lance+knife, don't know the english name) - at least for me
 
Yes, I have noticed a abundance of Rare Grimm Scythes dropping lately.

Fledgeling - I think they might just be called 'spear'.
