Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Is Red Rune Mod allowed to use from 1.07 to 1.13? Or is it just 1.10 to 1.13 which is allowed? It isn't really specified anywhere...

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

I do not see why not. I do not remember when the RRM was made, but if it works for 1.07 - 1.09 I do not see why it would be disallowed. The link does say pre 1.13 and is allowed to be used here.

Back in an old Item Find thread silo said this:
If you want a RRM for 1.07, just throw me a PM.

So there might be a specific RRM for 1.07, but so far I have not found it if there is. You might want to try posting in the 1.07 threads or PMing Thy for the file.

Thank you very much sir.

I actually know how I would simply make the rune colors red so I guess I will just do it manually for the other patches.

Thanks again!

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Hi, I'm having a little trouble with GoMule. It installed fine and all, but I can't find my characters. I can find my save files outside of GoMule, but when I try to use their character search I am unable to path there. I do the regular search, but once I get to my username I am unable to see AppData and thats where I'm halted. I'm not very tech savvy so I might just be being stupid. I searched through this forum for an answer and couldn't find it, so I apologize if It's a solved problem.

Thanks

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

With Vista (and Win7 to some extent) getting to your files can be a massive PITA. AppData is a protected folder which is why you don't see it, but your save files shouldn't be in there anyway. Your Diablo dir should be at C:\Program Files\Diablo II or maybe C:\ProgramData\Diablo II, otherwise you can right-click your Diablo shortcut, open properties, then click "open file location" or "find target". From there look in the save directory.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

The location of my save files is .....Username\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\ProgramFiles (x86)\Diablo II\Save

But the problem I'm having is, is that I don't know how to access these files through GoMule. I'm still pretty confused. Am I doing the wrong thing? Are these not the right files?

I'm on Win 7 btw.

Thanks.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Ah, I see now. Weird place for a D2 install.

I don't see any way to enable viewing hidden files in GoMule, and you can't drag them into the window either. You'll have to edit the registry to change where D2 saves your char files, and them import them from there.

  • Make a new save folder wherever you like, as long as it not in a hidden folder. None of your game files need to be there, just the saves. C:\Users\Username\Documents\diablo_save or whatever you fancy.
  • Press window-button+R, type regedit in the box and press OK.
  • Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Blizzard Entertainment\Diablo II
  • Look for Save Path and it edit to point to your new save folder. In my example you'd just replace the text with C:\Users\Username\Documents\diablo_save
  • Press OK and close regedit.
Hope that works...

*Oh right, I almost forgot. Copy the content of ...Username\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\ProgramFiles (x86)\Diablo II\Save into your new save folder :p

Worked perfectly. Thank you so much hubb. Now for the fun of SP d2, which I haven't done since classic like 10 yrs ago :).

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Quick question which has probably been answered in these 50 pages but I couldn't find it:

GoMule is working perfectly except for the error message that it can't save the backup. I know it is because of the location in the Program Files. I created 3 simple stashes to mule some stuff off my only character so that I could free up some space (Runes, Pgems, Sets). With Pickup/Drop, the stuff made it to my stashes. When I log into the game, the items are also still on the character....

Related to the fact that I can't save properly? GoMule having trouble editing my d2s file but not its own files?

*EDIT* I believe I confirmed this. I'll have to do some clean up, and try running d2 from outside of the program files folder. Thanks.

That's exactly what it sounds like. I would do what I explained in my previous post: move your char files to an unprotected folder.

*Also, chuck the items you duped :p

I find it was easier when I had windows 7 was to just install Diablo II outside of the Program Files folder. That way I did not need to mess with the registry or worry about any protected folders. You can use the My Documents folder for example.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

That fixed it. Rather than keeping 1 copy of my d2s file in the Diablo2 folder that was in Program Files and then copying it back and forth with another location in GoMule, I just reinstalled outside of Program Files. Everything works now.

As for the 25 duped PGems, I just deleted that whole stash and reinstalled GoMule too :), since they were still on my character.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Anyone familiar with Run Counter Advanced? I downloaded the .zip file and extracted it, but I can't find the jar file. Am I missing something?

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

That is a little odd. When I tried to download it and opened it the only file in it was a .jar file.

Just to be sure that we are on the same page:
You are trying to run Silo's run counter? Try using this link and see if it helps.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/gomule/files/RunCounterAdv/0.1/RunCounterAdvR01.zip/download

You have java up to date and installed?

Do you use GoMule and if so does it work properly?

You have correctly extracted the file? Try using a different utility like 7zip. Though even using the built-in zip utility for XP extracted it correctly on my machine.

When it is extracted do you see a file named RunCounterAdv if you do not see an extension that might be because the extensions are hidden for known file types. Depending on which OS you have you should go into your folder properties to enable it. This step should not be necessary, just try double clicking on it and see if it runs.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

I use a mac running OS 10.6 and when I extract it it becomes a folder called RunCounterAdv.

EDIT - Figured it out. It works when I extract with StuffIt Expander. Thanks for the help Ladvarian.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Does anyone run Diablo II under Wine/Ubuntu/Linux?

I could need some help to get RWM started, so please let me know if it works for you!

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

The Edge rune word is the cheapest so I'd try that one first.
Tir + Tal + Amn in a 3 socketed bow

Once you create the bow do not get rid of it. It may say gemmed bow, but once you get the RWM working it will change to the Edge rune word without having to recreate it. This will save you runes and frustration.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Due to help from other threads, I fixed it.

here is the script I created in case if someone is interested

cd /home/martin/.wine/drive_c/Program/Diablo\ II
wine Diablo\ II.exe -direct -txt

and then just run it in a terminal.

Cheers!
