Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

When i try to run the GoMule.jar file, i get the following message:

Code:
Fatal exception occured. Program will exit.

What is this and how can i fix it?

One more question.

I have the RWM for 1.13c installed and an Insight runeword on a colossus voulge in my Stash. I can use it properly and no problem have occured so far. Yesterday i tried to create another Insight on a scythe. But it didn't turn out a runeword, but just a gemmed scythe. On ATMA it showed up as an "Insight" weapon but without Insight's stats ( it had the stats that it got from the runes i inserted). I put it in a stash, but when i tried to reopen that stash it said that data is corrupt and then shortly after that, ATMA crashed.

How come that i can use that colossus voulge but not that scythe?

I am running on Vista

Thanks in advance

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

I would try downloading GoMule again and see if it something happened in the files of GoMule's folder or if it is the Java itself. Keep both folders separate til you know for sure that it is one or the other.

As for the RWM where do you have Diablo II installed? You have Vista/7 which means you will run into MS's security; preventing you from having things working easily and correctly. Try moving/reinstalling Diablo II outside the Program Files folder and see if that helps. Backup your saves folder just in case.

For the ATMA/GoMule problem I hope that you did not mess with the settings for backups. There should be a backup for your stashes inside the ATMA folder and backups of your characters inside your save folder, I believe. Same goes for GoMule. Both make regular backups each time you close the files. If you are careful with renaming and not duplicating items you can get your scythe back and then we can find out why it did not create an insight scythe.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

DiabloII is installed in the Programm files section (by default). Should i try to relocate it in the other hard disc drive installed in my laptop?

Sadly there is no way to retrieve my scythe now because i deleted it in fear it would corrupt my whole .d2s file :(

I did not mess with the backup options of ATMA. It is set by default to backup each stash 9 times.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

You did not say whether or not GoMule is running now. I assume from your deletion of the scythe that you used a backup and the stash is okay.

Now that I think about it it sounds like the RWM might have quit working for you. I know that if you do not currently have the RWM working you can put the runes in and once you get the RWM working it will change the rune words into working order even if the runes were placed prior to the RMW working. I stopped using ATMA a long time ago and do not play much so I do not know if ATMA lists the rune word as active even if it is not. Though that does not explain the corruption that occurred.

If you are up to it and have spare runes you can try creating an Edge rune word, Tir + Tal + Amn. Shop for the bow in Act I normal from Charsi. This is the cheapest ladder rune word that I am aware of. Unless you have a spare 4 socket pole-arm and want to try again.

Another thought do you have any essences inside those stashes that you opened in ATMA? Essences are known to corrupt stashes if they are opened in ATMA. Hope this helps.

When i try to run the GoMule.jar file, i get the following message:

That error message sounds like a windows error, rather than a java error. Try running this:

java -jar GoMule.jar

on the command line. If it says it can't find the java program, download/install java and try again. This command line can be put into a shortcut for convenience, although I'd probably wait until it works at all to mess with that.

If you can post where D2 is installed, where RWM is installed, and what is in the start location and command line boxes under right-click->properties on the shortcut you use to start D2, that might help us figure out what the problem with RWM is. Ladvarian is probably right about RWM working previously, but not now, so if you can remember anything different about how you started D2 before and how you do it now, that might identify the problem.

You assume right. I used the backup files and now the stash is back at normal.

About the essence theory, it is proven wrong before that has happened to me again and then i had no essences. Now i have only one but it is in another stash.

And deletion and re-download of GoMule did not fix the problem. Still same error message.

That error message sounds like a windows error, rather than a java error. Try running this:

I did not quite get the the first part about the command line in which i put "java -jar GoMule.jar".

Diablo is installed in this folder: C:\Program Files\Diablo II

RWM is installed in this folder: C:\Program Files\Diablo II\Runewords\data\global\excel

The location of my Diablo II shortcut is: "C:\Program Files\Diablo II\Diablo II.exe"

I have also added " -w -ns" to play on windowed mode and with no sound.

I hope this helps...

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

I did not quite get the the first part about the command line in which i put "java -jar GoMule.jar".
What you just mentioned, in quotation marks, is the whole command line. If things are set up right and you're in the directory GoMule is in when you run it, then the program will run fine, if it doesn't, hopefully you'll get a more informative error message.

If the windows error vs. java error was confusing, here's what I meant: there's a different format for windows programs and for java programs. If either windows or java get the wrong file type, they don't know what to do, and quit with an error message. The error message you originally posted sounded a lot like windows complaining that it didn't know what to do with this java file, which might mean there's something wrong with the java installation.

If "java -jar GoMule.jar" doesn't work, you could try "java -version", which should get you something more or less like this, if java's installed right:

java version "1.6.0_22"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_22-b04)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 17.1-b03, mixed mode, sharing)

Diablo is installed in this folder: C:\Program Files\Diablo II

RWM is installed in this folder: C:\Program Files\Diablo II\Runewords\data\global\excel

The location of my Diablo II shortcut is: "C:\Program Files\Diablo II\Diablo II.exe"

I have also added " -w -ns" to play on windowed mode and with no sound.
Put this in the 'start in' box for your D2 shortcut:
"C:\Program Files\Diablo II\Runewords"

And add " -direct -txt -w -ns" instead of just " -w -ns".

After that, RWM should work for you.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

I've got something weird going on with an item's level requirement. It's an Angel's (+1 sorc skills) Crystaline Globe of the Magus (20% FCR), with +31 Life automod (Mammoth suffix). ATMA displays the level requirement as 27 (the level requirement for a Crystaline Globe, all of the mods have lower level reqs). In game, the item is displaying a level requirement of 51, which seems completely incorrect. Any ideas what might be causing this?

Code:
Angel's Crystalline Globe of the Magus
One-Hand Damage: 10 to 26
Durability: 30 of 30
(Sorceress Only)
Required Level: 27
Orb Class - Fast Attack Speed
Item Version: 1.10+ Expansion
Item Level: 63
Fingerprint: 0x24b9fdc9
+31 to Life
+1 to Sorceress Skill Levels
20% Faster Cast Rate
Piccy

Edit: I think it must be something to do with the Mammoth suffix as an automod. I have two other Orbs with it, and both are displaying required level 51 (ATMA has them (correctly) as 27 aand 42). I tried all 3 Orbs on another sorc to make sure, and got the same thing, so it's definitely an item bug.

Edit edit: ATMA is in fact wrong. The level requirement for the Mammoth suffix as an automod on an Orb is 51. ATMA must be using the lower level for circlets or something.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

As far as I know, automods do not alter required level on white/gray items, but do on blue/yellows. Probably an oversight on ATMA's part. You've piqued my curiosity: have you tested them in GoMule?

What is that command line thing? Where do i input the "java -jar GoMule.jar" and the "java -version" command lines?

Thanks and sorry for the trouble :/

Do Start->programs->accessories->Command Prompt
or type cmd.exe in the run box, to start up the command line.

It's basically a text window that accepts commands from you, and gets the output or error messages from the programs you run.

The "dir" command will display the contents of the current directory, and the "cd" command will change the current directory. You'll have to use "cd" to get to the directory where GoMule is installed, and you'll probably start out in c:\windows or something.

So if GoMule is in C:\Program Files\GoMule\ then you'd type something like this:

cd "c:\Program Files\GoMule\"
java -jar GoMule.jar

at which point it will hopefully work, and you can make a shortcut that will do that for you, so you don't need to mess with the command prompt.

Thanks and sorry for the trouble :/
No problem.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

So do I need to merely replace the files in ATMA for 1.13, or d/l the 1.13 ATMA and then replace the files too?

also how do you move the GoMule bank (and char/stash lists if possible)

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

I'm using Silo's advanced run counter and I just have a few quick questions about proper use. When exactly should I be starting my run counter? Should I start it before I enter my first game or right before I enter my first game? Also, when should I end it? Should I end it in game at the end of my last run or should I end it after I have exited the game after my last run? I know this may be a little nitpicky but I feel like having a 1-2s run either at the end or the beginning of every session may throw my average times off since I typically only do about 10-25 runs of a place at a time.

Thanks.

No the one on the front page stated ATMA for 1.13 link is already up to date. Just download it. Do be sure not to place the essences in any stashes though. Read below the front page link for details.

As for the bank... I copied this from an earlier post I made to help someone else.

If everyone who reads this promises not to use it other than to transfer ATMA money to GoMule and NOT add money they do not actually have then please read the spoiler below. Thyaid if you have any problems with this please delete it. I am simply providing it for informational purposes. Anyone who clicks on the spoiler should be smart enough not to abuse this. Hopefully that is.

***THIS IS AN ADVANCED TIP NOT TO BE TAKEN LIGHTLY***

***ONLY FOR TRANSFERRING MONEY TO AND FROM PROGRAMS***

***Take extra caution this might mess up your gold supply***

***Be sure to close each program completely before trying this***

ATMA
***Be sure it is closed before trying this***
To change the amount in your ATMA stash to 0(zero) you open up your ATMA_CONFIG folder inside there should be a file called, ATMA_config.ini Open this file with your text editor (use Notepad) and under the header [Data] there should be a listing of bank_funds= Write this number down and change it to 0. So that the line reads bank_funds=0 Save the file and close up Notepad. You can now open and check ATMA to see if the gold is now indeed 0 in ATMA.

Now for GoMule
***Be sure it is closed before trying this***
Go into your projects folder and look for a file called project.properties (NOT projectS.properties, no plural on project, the file you want should be, one folder under the folder that holds that file). This file can be opened with a text editor as well (Notepad). There is a line for bank= just use a calculator to add the amount that is there with the amount of ATMA gold you written down earlier using a calculator. Then type in the total amount to the right of the equal sign (=) Close the file and open GoMule, your new gold amount should be displayed in GoMule correctly.

Example if you had 1000 in GoMule and transferred 1000 gold from ATMA. Your amount looks like this bank=2000

Thank you for reading this and PLEASE do not use this for any other purpose other than the one requested.

P.S. Sorry for all the bureaucratic red tape, but I'm trying to protect mine and your butt. ;)

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

This may not be the best place to ask, but I didn't want to make a thread just for it...

Could someone explain how to upload your flavie to webs.com? I have the site up but it won't accept the file. Or if there is a better place to do it that is fine as well. Thanks!

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Each time you run Flavie, it will generate a file named Report.html. This file will have the names of each set, unique, rune, gem, etc., and it will show the numbers for how many of each you have.

If you upload just this file, it will be just black text with a white background. In order to show the 'full' Flavie report with all the colors and such, you will also need to upload the file standard.css. This file should be located in the same folder as your Flavie.jar launcher.

As long as you have both of those files in the same directory of your webs account, it should work. I just tried uploading a recent report, but since I already had a report, with the same default name, in my webs account the webs uploader did not accept the file. You may need to ensure you are not trying to upload a file with a duplicate name, and rename accordingly.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Hello. I am having a basic issue installing RWM.

I download and extract it and I get three icons.
-Folder: Runewords
-Word File: How to Install
-Odd looking shortcut icon

I read the How to Install which says this...

1. If you extracted the .zip file correctly, you'll now have a new folder in your d2 folder called runewords. If not, extract again including subdirectories.
2. Create a new shortcut to game.exe or Diablo II.exe
3. Add -direct -txt, and refer to the runewords folder in "start in...", as seen on shortcut.gif.
4. Click on the new shortcut to play.

All is understood except "3. Add -direct -txt, and refer to the runewords folder in "start in...", as ".

Now, to me, the fact that this guide is so concise is insulting. It assumes you have some good bit of software experience because I really don't have a damn clue where to start with this.

I take it as meaning "In "Start In..." add -direct -txt and refer to the runewords folder in it. What it doesn't tell you is where the hell do you find or execute "Start in..." or even what the hell it is or means, LET ALONE what it means by "Add -direct -txt".

I mean, for one second, can I get some eloquent help? Please?! This is frustrating.

Edit: I think I figured out the -direct -txt thing. The fact that the example pic is in a foreign language and their window is definitely not standard XP or Windows period really throws you off. It should at the very least say "Right click -> Properties -> add -direct -txt to the end of the file location instead of using a totally misleading example pic to say it all.

Now for "Refer to the runewords folder and "Run in... ". I still have no clue where to start on that.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Okay, first I would like to apologize a little. These instructions have not changed much since the RWM mod was created back when 1.10 came out. The image is in German I believe and I agree that the guide could have been better written, however, that is partially why we have this thread as a sticky to help.

Everything looks okay so far. The next step you need to do is to move the folder named Runewords into Diablo II folder which is under your Program Files folder
Exact folder structure in XP should be this once you move it there:
C:\Program Files\Diablo II\Runewords
Now that the folder is moved change your "Start In..." from the shortcut to exactly what is above. In other words copy the text and paste it in.

Now as long as there are no messages when you press OK everything should be set. Try it out using an easy cheap rune word like Edge (Tir + Tal + Amn) in a bow. Get the bow from Charsi in normal. You might need to wait for a little while unless you can either get or cube an Amn depending on where you are in the game. The other runes can be easily gotten from Normal Countess. Once you create the Edge rune word or any other "ladder only" rune word do not get rid of it if it does not become the rune word right away. Once we get the RWM working it will change into the correct rune word.

Thank you for the eloquent walk through, however, this has already been resolved. I got impatient and posted my own thread on it and worked it out, however, you're answer wouldn't have taken nearly as long, as it answers every issue I ran into along the way lol.

I do think that your answer should be part of the sticky because nowhere in the sticky did I see that kind of explanation. Maybe I missed it.

I used a certain program I wont mention here to test if it worked or not. It saved me about 5 minutes of finding the edge runes and bow [Not to mention wasting the runes] which goes to show that a rather "illegal" prog can have plenty of legit purposes [I use it to debug Gomule "bad dead body" chars and to test builds].

OK, didn't know about the standard.css, But I guess I don't know where to upload it. I try it as a picture and it says its not valid format. Is there a place to upload a text document or something. I have looked all over in there and can't figure it out.
