Anything Goes D2 Lounge!

I can pull it in just under 6 hours if I'm feeling good. 19-20s per run depending. 180 per hour math works out to 5.5 hours per 1k, but with bathroom and sandwich and muling breaks it's more like 6. It depends on your map. I'm a strong advocate for the circular map so you can port back to pandemonium fortress when your run is done. Running through act 3 ups your time by at least 5 seconds. I'm at my first chest within 3 seconds of starting the game, even back when I was running with the 105% fcr breakpoint.

I definitely don't pick up jewels. And depending on the mood, no gems/charms either. I'm hunting lightning skillers at the moment so I have been. But when I'm hunting runes, then it's only runes. and I only pick up ko+.

I'll post up a video, been thinking about doing it for a while but my laptop is kinda crappy at multitasking and frapsing at the same time as doing anything else is rough.
 
I might start just picking up ko+, but I'm not sure yet. I was going to craft some rings/ammys for a future frenzy barb, although I suppose I could just do countess for those.

I've been using the run through kurast to type /players 8 with one hand, then telekinesis the waypoint. I have the map to go to pandemonium though, so I might try that. When do you type in p8? Also, what do you do about keys?

you get 1 +6 claw each 300.000 runs. If you also want it to be greater talon for the atkspeed and lower requirements, then you look at numbers in the millions.

Now if you multiply these millionss by also wanting a suffix like simplicity and also want to get 2 sockets from larzuk and want this 2 times, then you are surely looking at numbers in the miljards.

Personally im happy enough after lots of shopping with a +4 greater talon and +5 scissor quhab, both not yet socketed. I do ID every blue greater/runic talon I find.

Oh my is pretty depressing. Greater talons and other nice mods on it would be great, but for now i'd be very happy with 2 plain +6 claws. Or at least 1 so i can socket it and get my resists up.

So far all i got was a +5 scissors quhab, which already was an improvement over my 2 plain cunning claws. I guess that either i'll have to put off getting her to 99 any time soon and keep doing the occassional shopping sprees in between. Or work on that idea i had in the 99 theorycrafting thread a bit more to see if it can be done.

This might be physically painful for you to hear, but, you don't have to retype /players8 every game. It transfers between games until you completely exit out of diablo 2, even if you switch characters.

Also, the drops on p7 are the same as the drops on p8, so you should consider running p7.

I do countess for below ko because it's so time efficient. You can run for 2 hours, picking up every rune and you'll be LOADED with low runes of literally every kind. And you might snag some puls ums mals or ists too :)


So, I'm going to spoiler the rest of this because otherwise it's a massive wall of text about my LK runs for dazliere. I've typed parts of this before at different locations on the forum, so I'll save you all from reading it potentially again. It ended up being super long because I'm super bored at work.

Bindings:
1234 - potions (obviously)

qwer - skills (r-teleport, w-static, e-frozen orb) frozen orb is the only offensive ability you should use, and it should only be to knockback the leapers. Killing stuff is a complete waste of time. I personally leave no chest behind because I'm superstitious about that sort of thing. I just draw enemies out of the huts and then teleport in. at max this happens only 1 chest per run, adds some time onto the run but oh well. You get good at getting enemies outta there.

spacebar - show items on ground - I use spacebar only when running LK, tab the rest of the time. Basically the reason I do this is because it's more comfortable. Over the course of running so much, it can really get taxing on your forearm/pinky muscle to be tabbing all the time. It's a slightly weird angle and my muscles just don't feel good after a while.

Mouse Bindings:
I have rebound 'H' and 'Enter' to two of my side mouse buttons, so I can click single player and I'm instantly into the game. About halfways into my running, I also rebound 'escape' and 'up arrow' to the other two of my side buttons, so I can leave the game without using my keyboard. This is complicated and fancy, but it shaves a tiny amount of time off my run. Basically, when you port back to pandemonium fortress your mouse cursor is at the top of the screen. If you open the menu when your mouse is higher than the menu options, the little selector thing will start on 'Options'. By hitting 'up arrow' it will move the selector to 'save and exit game', and then hitting enter will exit you. I just hate having to move my keyboard hand AT ALL, and snagging that escape button is annoying to my arm muscles over time as well.

The Run from start to exit:
At the start of the game, while the pandemonium fortress is loading (about 1 second), I hit 'w', my hotkey for static. I run slightly towards the pandemonium fortress wp, static it, and choose act 3 LK. The reason you can't static from where you're standing is because the wp just doesn't work from that distance, so you have to jog a short ways towards it.

Once I'm done with my last chest, the closest to the LK wp, I teleport back to the LK wp. As soon as I click the waypoint for pandemonium fortress, I hit my mouse side buttons in fast succession in this order: Escape - Up Arrow - Enter. This exits the game before pandemonium fortress even completely loads; I don't even see it before I see the starting menu. Then I click single player, and instantly hit the mouse side buttons for 'enter' (selects my sorcy) and 'H' (selects hell difficulty).

Additional tips:
Note: You can actually enter commands while the game is loading. So if I hit w, it'll select the static while the game is loading. I also click towards the wp while the screen is loading so my character starts running immediately. Your character only has to move a tiny tiny bit for the wp to work with static. Also you can have your first teleport queued up while you're loading from pandemonium fortress to LK.

Notes 2 and 3: Additionally, I don't open the minimap because it takes more button presses and IMO it clutters up the screen too much when I'm looking for those runes. Plus you don't really need it when you know your path so well. I also don't cast frozen armor. I think it's mostly unecessary because it takes that extra time, and deaths (at least in my experience) are pretty infrequent. If there's tons of mobs in a hut, sometimes I'll cast frozen armor after I spot them, just to be sure, but only in that case. I'm just too lazy, it takes too much work to cast it when it's so rarely needed.

Sorry for the wall of text, that about sums up how I do the run. It didn't start that way, it just slowly got there, one change after the other to try and cut down on my time. It's too much to be useful to anyone in that big chunk, I think. But there it is.

I figured it worked with monsters, but not with chests :| That should make my runs today a lot faster hahaha thanks. I don't have a neat mouse, so I can't do that, but I've been doing the whole queue up a spell while it loads thing. Other than that thank you so much man. I'm one pul/um/mal/ist away from infinity! Any one of those will let me cube an ist :D

You're making an infinity and the rune you're missing is THE IST?! -.- What's the story with the other two bers? You just like mega baller lucky or what?! When I was done I literally had a boatload of guls and mals. I could have filled a boat with them.

This might be physically painful for you to hear, but yeah I got lucky as all get out. I got a sur on run #75, then another sur I think at like 225, cubed em, then got a ber at 564. I saw the ber and did a little dance haha; my roommate thought I was crazy. Want to know the messed up part? I got a vex at run 172, which is how I got to make that hoto I posted about. So aside from vex/pul in hoto, I have 2x ber, 2x mal, gul, um, from 1k runs ^.^

Btw you never got back to me about skype. I've been doing lk runs like crazy and yeah it does get really boring :(

I cannot begin to explain the extreme sense of loathing I feel for you at this moment. If I found a ber in LK I would be posting up and down these forums. I told my gf if I found a ber I would run around the house 5 times out of excitement. I was serious. I never found it.

Not to add salt in the wound, but vex just dropped on run 1007...And thank you for your tips!! I've definitely shaved a few seconds off of my run time.
 
I didn't screen this vex, but I can send you a pic of the runes I have? I'm not sure how to prove I got them legitimately :( I don't want my sheer dumb luck to bite me in the *** if people here don't believe it really was just crazy luck..

Is there a way I can prove the legitimacy? I don't edit anything, I just use gomule and RWM, no hacks, nothing.
 
So ive been questing through nm with my javazon and ive gotta say it is such good fun! Not played one in years but ZOMG! OP or what! On p/8 the only thing that takes a while to kill are act bosses but they pose no threat and i am poorly geared.

Cows in hell should be much fun!
 
Yeah I am doing, but this is on p/8 so maybe thats why its taking longer than usual...

I also seem to remember them dropping quickly but this was in the bnet days (sigh of embarrasement) so obviously p/settings were low then

Anyone know a good cow runner build?
 
I know javazons are great cow runners but anyone cuurently have an active one that could give me some advice on p/settings, tips, tricks, gear etc.
 
@ deza: if all your missing is an ist, you should run the countess. she delivers runes up to gul way faster than any other target

@ twibz: get 100 pierce, some frw, cbf and 60 ias. herd them like kitteh says - i often run in circles around them - and start throwing javs. you shouldn´t use a merc or valk, those make the herding difficult and will rather make things dangerous than easy. i´d go for /p7, you´ll only feel the difference with LIs. your damage-output scales with the amount of cows in a crowd
 
@krupa - You say no merc. What about a blizz sorcy? No merc still? What if the merc has infinity? Will that make a difference in blizzard damage even when cows have no cold immune? Like sometimes I notice I kill certain non-immunes faster when running with my infinity merc than I do when he's not there. I guess, would infinity grant any additional benefit for cows vs blizzard?
 
Thanks for the advice guys, should my main aim be just more and more damage with a cowzon via +skills or +%lite dmg from facets/griffons/ormus etc.

Thats a point! Would a +%lite dmg off ormus work with a javazon? At the moment im using a vipermagi and eventually want enigma but that is miles away for me at the mo...
