Ammy/Ring Crafting

I've looked around and couldn't find this info. If you could link me within the site or do a copy/paste for me, it would be much appreciated.

For the fcr ammy, I know it's Ral + Pamy + jj + ammy. What does the ilvl need to be for +2 skills? I'm only lvl 88. Where can I get appropriate ammys? I know gambled ammys are something like anywhere from -5 to +4 clvl, mean I might not stand a chance to begin with.

What is the fcr/str recipe for rings? Is there a better recipe to use for sorc type rings? What are ilvl requirements and where should I obtain my rings to be rolled?

i don't think there's any fcr ring recipe. it'd be dependent on the roll of the craft.

Yea, I guess I worded it wrong. I know the 10% fcr is a random mod, but would I be best off rolling them as blood rings for str/life?

The ilvl of the crafted amulet is original ilvl/2 + clvl/2, both numbers rounded down. If you're going to use crafted amulets, every amulet you gamble will be able to get +2 skills when crafted at level 93 (since the lowest amulet ilvl you can gamble then is 88, and 88/2 + 93/2 = 90).

At your current level you need the amulet to be at least lvl 92 to be able to craft a +2 one, and only 1 of every 10 amulets you gamble for on average will have that ilvl. If you don't have a friend with a lvl 97+ char to gamble the amulets for you, I'd wait until getting a few more levels before starting to craft.

About rings, I think you're better off just gambling for rare ones. The str/life on blood rings aren't that useful to a sorc, and since crafted items can get a max of 4 affixes (besides the fixed ones) and rares can get up to 6 a great rare will be better than any crafted ring for you, in my opinion

Here's a little something that helvete wrote some weeks ago :)

Here are some character levels needed to always have a chance of +2 skills when crafting amulets, if the input amulet comes from different sources:

Hell Baal: 82
Hell Diablo/Nihlathak: 86
Gambled amulet from a clvl 95: 90
Amulets from hell Duriel or boss/minion in lvl 85 areas: 92
Self-gambled amulet: 93
Pindleskin/mob or hell meph: 94
Any amulet from lvl 85 areas: 96

The Arreat Summit only has the monster levels correct for normal difficulty, IIRC.

Why do I need 93 though? If the numbers are rounded down, wouldn't 92 work? 88/2 = 44, 92/2 = 46.

44+46=90

What TheBigClown said, at lvl 92 you can gamble ilvl 87 amulets, which would get ilvl 89 when crafted and so wouldn't have a chance at +2 skills.

Thanks guys. I guess I had a bit of a brain fart. Now to grind from 88 to 93...
