I was suggesting you try Dream in a druid pelt not Myth as we know Myth is still inactive. What I find very interesting here, however, is that the example given on this site is a Skull Cap, in 03 I made Myth in a War Hat, in 09 I made it in a Helm and a couple of weeks ago I made it in a Circlet. But it turns up as gemmed in masks and pelts. :Ponder:

To paraphrase Arreat Summit, Circlets do not have exceptional and elite variations although Tiaras and Diadems can be considered as such. Perhaps Circlets are a class of headgear on their own like barb helms and dru pelts?

Thanks Wathombe. I did see that Dream had been tested in a normal helm and a barb helm but there was no indication that it was gemmed. It hasn't yet been tested in a druid pelt and i can't find one of the damn things.

Ya, i no what u mena about finding them, me and hades searched for about an hour tryen to find the barb and druid helm. it was sooo annoying.

I also wanted to keep everyone updated on the rusher sorc. She's now lvl 54 and in nm act 4. A good point was broght to my attention, apparently i nwont be able to do hell trav with the immunities. (thought they were different in classic). I might need a support pally with conviction to get around these. Or, sense a foher requires intensive gear, a barb to kill the high council. other then that i dont no. Maybe there is someway to et around this hurtle. I'll check it out tommorrow when i'm in hell to see what immunities they have.
 
in 1.03 there weren't any runes.. They were added with the expansion which started at 1.07 for single players and 1.08 for bnet.. Are you sure about 1.03?? :cheesy:

Ya thats what I thought to but i wasnt sure so i didnt bring it up.

Even worst, there were only few unique items and all the sets were the junk sets of today. I still remember etting my first "uber" bonesnap LMAO.

I thought it was 1.03 and I just checked my files and only have read-me's for 1.03c, 1.09 and 1.10. O well nvm it doesn't really make much difference to the thrust of my argument.

Given that I had always been under the impression that circlets were just plain old every day helms and not in a class of their own I decided to make Myth again so I could provide you guys with a screenshot and guess what happened? To my astonishment I made a gemmed circlet. I checked and double checked that I had put the runes in right and even went so far as to try El Nef (also gemmed in a barb helm in the doubtful case that it hasn't yet been tested).

I knew for certain that I had made Myth on ladder 2 so I checked my post where I reported it. Turns out I didn't report it in this thread but in another one on July 27, meaning I had made it sometime in the week or so before (I wasn't coming to the forum much as I was busy leveling up). Season 2 started on July 8 so it certainly worked as an inactive word in season 2.

Since that time a number of people have asked the question whether or not the runes were released on the day the ladder was reset or if they are yet to be released. Our general (quite justified imo) belief was that the two events were concurrent. Since late July, however, all realms have experienced, on at least one occasion, extended periods of downtime. This, it has always been assumed, was to combat botting and the long lines associated with them, and the last downtime, with the implementation of an anti-bot feature, seems to have worked. I would now suggest, based upon my experience with Myth, that one of these downtime periods also entailed the enabling of runewords. It seems that Myth has been tinkered with after all.

Let me just say that again. Season 2 started on July 8. Myth worked as an inactive runeword prior to July 27. After this time the combination El Tir results only in a gemmed helm. Also after this time the realms have experienced downtime. Can this be coincidence?

I hate to say it but it is quite possible that we were all wrong in assuming the new season started with new runewords. Unfortunately this also means that all tests done before a certain date are redundant and have to be made again. :(

In terms of record keeping it wouldn't be too daunting a task as all that needs to be done is to make a copy of the spreadsheets and delete all combinations prior to the likely date (by comparing the copy with the spreadsheet posted in this thread closest to said date) leaving everything else, then fill in both spreadsheets simultaneously. This will give a spreadsheet that has all 2 soc helm combos (which is nearly complete for the lower lvl combinations) and one with the second set for re-testing. This does not diminish the tedium of having to do at least a few hundred tests again.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but again Myth DID work at the beginning of Season 2 and it no longer works now, indicating that the runewords have been touched since then. :(

One thing about the retesting of the helms is this, for 3/4 of them we wont half to, because thats about how many of them ive tunred in the last 3 days. This was after both the downtimes and the changing of myth. In the last 3 days i have tested and submited 57 runeword tests for helms. I guese it might be a good thing that I got into this hunt a little late.

I checked back to the original test of Myth on this thread. Suo tested it in a mask on July 13, which was definitely before the "bot repairs," and he specifically stated that it came up gemmed. Per Arreat Summit, any "helm" recipe will work in any armor worn on the head, including helms, barbarian helms, druid pelts, and circlets, and a mask is a helm class item. Are you sure you turned up the inactive runeword after reset, with a ladder character? I'm a bit unwilling to toss an entire month of testing, for obvious reasons.

EDIT: Dawns has a good point; we didn't really start testing helms until August 1st or 2nd.

I have a vex and gul and so on that I COULD test but I just cannot do it untill I know that battle net has activated the runewords. GTA your a MVP there, is there ANYONE you can ask JUST to see if they are active? If I know they have been activated I will try one of the higher end runewords. I know i am asking for a lot, but I hope you all understand.

Finally the 1.07ish list. Sokar, I've added in the inactivated combinations that havenot been tested. I also wanted to point out the the inactivated recipe for Terror is identical to that for Thirst in 1.07. Thirst is THE most extensively tested word on the 1.07 list and it is definitely not doing anything. Anyway at least this makes for two more low level runewords.

Finally, can somebody PLEASE test Pattern from 1.10.

I have the ort and eold on hand, if i find there rest i'll be sure to give it a test. i think i might have the sheal too.

Of all the runes I've found since ladder reset, and I've found as high as Pul, I have yet to find a single freakin' Shael. My poor Bloodfists have been waiting for an upgrade for weeks.
