23 Runeword Search Thread

Hey guys im new to the forum but your thread has really attracted me, im helping the at the moment 2nd top guy on uswest ladder (tifas-revenge) but other then that im in a quest to find the runewords as all of you are. Give me some runewords that need to be tested since i countess often i can supply runes and I GOT a ton of guys on a teamspeak server i join that could help if they want to. we dont have many high ones but I could get some connections going. Sorry for my typing i dont really care as long as its readable anyways. Does anyone have a list of new runewords that work? if so i have aim chasetheirishman is my sn. As well as just post it on here i check it every once and awhile now. This is just about the only thread on the net i read all 540 posts. Lol >< im a nerd but o well. So if someone would post there findings and words they need to be checked ill help give me a spreadsheet or something and we can work something out thx....Chase

Great, glad we attracted your interest. There are two spreadsheets you can download:

wathombe's runeword database

shaft's runeword database

Both have more or less the same information, in slightly different format. Shaft's has a more comprehensive list of all combinations tested, mine has more blank grids for 2soc combinations (I think). Shaft's 1.07 list is a lot easier to read than mine, too, as I went for numbers instead of rune names for easier sorting.

If you have access to higher mid-level runes through your ladder team, what we could really use help with are testing some of the higher 1.07 recipes. There are a number of untested recipes that top out around Lem-Mal, thus shouldn't be too expensive if you've got access to the runes. They run from Mystery to Glory on both our lists (I think).

Be sure to chime in with any ideas, theories, suggestions, too. Good luck!

These are all US.East SC Ladder players I believe. Pretty sure. So basically, why aren't we rushing characters yet :D ?

(What I think we should do, is set up a 8 player game...nobody enables the expansion. We all go to hell, act 4. Kill Diablo. Then we all enable the expansion. Do the Ral/Ort/Tal quests 3 times, per 7 characters = 21 of each Ral, Ort and Tal. Then we can go through and do the hellforges 1 by 1 (split off into smaller groups).

Think this would work? I am doing some serious countess running, but problem is I end up using most of my runes on crafting :grrr:

(The reason I do lots of countess, is because basically unless it's a private baal run, I really don't want to do it. I was half way to 92. Now I have all the way until 92...so it's privates, or endless countess runs for me. Not neccissarily a bad thing. Once I've got a significant stash of runes, I'll post here and try to find out what should be done with them).

Sounds like a plan to me. I'm pretty new to this game, so I'm not sure I understand why you'd do the whole classic thing. Wouldn't it make more sense to get like two level 85+ characters to rush six brand new chars?

I'm on USWest, but I can create a second account on USEast with the same CD key (can't I?). I've never done hellforge rushes, so someone will have to show me the ropes for the first one, but if the times match up, I'm willing and available.

If any of our esteemed posters are on USWest, and someone wants to explain to me how hellforge rushes work (or at least how they work most efficiently, as I get the general idea), I'm all for doing rushes on West, too. My best character there just started Hell, though (clvl 65 Shockadin), so I'm not sure he could make the run to Hell Act 4.

i'm all up for the hell hellforge rushing, my char can't do it right now, but very quickly will be capable of doing it, if not, i can always just tag along with a char, just say when and where, i'll try to be there

There is also a rumor of a 3 socket armor working on realms. Not from a reputable site so not how sure the info is correct. Only 3 socket armor recipe we have not tested is:

Sol - Zod - Hel
So I don't think we'll be scratching that off too soon.

Chaze, great to see a new face to help out with runeword hunting (especially one with a lot of friends). You mentioned you've been doing some testing already. Is there anyway you could post up a list of what you've tried? I'd love to add the info to my spreadsheet. As for helping out, you'll find two basic attempts we're running at the moment. One is the 1.07 list that the four most recent runewords are off of. And the other is two socket combinations (currently armor and helms are the thrust of this). You can read up on what's been tested recently or just check out the spreadsheets. And if you've got some ideas please post them all.

Ike, that won't work because you can't convert Classic characters over to Ladder characters only nonladder expansion. New runewords are ladder only. I'd be happy to help out any way I can with rushing, but I've only got a lvl 46 berzerk barb, and only play about a half hour 5 days a week. I think we should all add eachother to our friends list however, that way in case we bump into someone we might be able to lend a hand partial rush etc.

Wathombe, of course you can make accounts on multiple servers, you just have to start from scratch with characters go. But you could always be the rushee if the games don't fill up fast enough.

I had rune rushing down to a science in season 1. 2 hours or so for the forge quests. In an evening, I was able to get enough runes to make lots of the high level runewords.. And It burned in new mules etc.. Was quite fun. I can write out my strat if you guys want, it requires some leveling on the part of the user.

Gotcha (I've never had the need to try). Well, if anyone starts up East hellforge rushes, needs an eighth warm body as a rushee, and runs around 1 to 3 am EDT, I'm your man. I'll set up an East account just in case and post the account name here.

Great idea to put everybody on friends lists. It may take a while to cross-check account names, realms, et cetera, but I'll start with Ikeren's list and make a new page in the spreadsheet. If anyone on Ikeren's list is NOT USEast or has a different account name than what is posted there, please post a correction. Anyone on USWest, please include your account name with your next post, if you don't mind.
 
I'm also on Softcore UsEast ladder.

I have a level 89 Pally and would be happy to help rush as long as I get some item and gem drops for my time; all the runes belong to the rushees.

The FASTEST way to rush people would be to have 7 sorcs + rushee, each teleporting to the right location and waiting with a town portal.

In addition, so long as one person in the party actually gets the quest, the below level 20/40 character can get into NM/Hell.

You CAN get new characters to hell rune-forges in 30 minutes if planned correctly with 7 sorcs. That would supply a lot of high end runes for trying the 1.07 runewords.
 
Okay, I added a page to the spreadsheet with everyone's known nickname, account name, and realm. If anyone notices anything incorrect, or if anyone has been left off who would like to be added, just post here and let me know.

Also, I noticed that we're down to about 55 remaining possibilities on the 1.07 list, by my count. If we can eliminate 35 or so of those, we can then be reasonably certain that the rest won't work (as there will be less than 23 left). Granted, Bliz could have used some recipes from that list and added in new recipes, but there is at least a possibility that it was all or nothing. Unfortunately, the minimum runes necessary to test the lowest 35 left go up to Sur. :rolleyes:
 
Perhaps I am confused...how do we get past the ancients? I thought it was, do the rushes in Normal Ladder, convert to expansion ladder? Or am I really confused?

Here is what I understood.

First, they rush each char till act 4 Hell in Normal Ladder to skip Ancients (so they won't need to level every char to lvl 40 for Nightmare ancients).

They convert rushed char to expansion so they can get rune from hellforge.

Then do hellforge in expansion to get the rune.

Btw I'm new on this forum and I would like to help here (tho I only have 81 sorc with MF gear and 76 Barb with Full Ik (he have no prob killing Hell Hephasto)).

Welcome to the forum! We certainly appreciate any help you can offer. The serious hellforge suggestion only came up within the past day or so, so I don't know if it will really happen or not. I added your contact info to the list just in case.

In the meantime, check out one of the spreadsheets we have to download (both links on previous page) and test some cheap 2soc helm or shield recipes (or some expensive 1.07 or 2soc armor recipes, for that matter). If you have any questions about why we're doing anything, just ask.
 
Ike, Sorry for the mix-up. I didn't even realize classic had a ladder anymore :scratch:
So if you take that route to avoid ancients, we need someone who has a classic ladder character that can rush our character to A4 hell. Isn't this gonna be quite rare? Also as pointed out earlier, you can skip ancients if done correctly. If you're in town with a low level and someone in your party gets the Baal quest (actually in the room) then you too get the reward. Problem is this requires two rushers and one is disposable. So the classic route is definitely easier, but who has a high level classic ladder character?
