Grim stepped onto the rune-inscribed square that would take him back to the Rogue Camp. He didn't understand the technique, but he sure appreciated being able to go back to safety in one single step. It had been a tough few days, travelling to the Monestary. His pack of Wolves were fierce in their fighting, but they were also distracted so easily, sniffing at this stone, marking that bush, that he'd had a few tough times where he suddenly found himself all alone in front of a group of foes. Also, the girl? Very pretty, but by the gods, when she stood in line for intelligence, it must have been all out when it was her turn. Grim sighed, and resolved that in the next Town (he simply knew there would be a next Town), he'd get someone else to help him.
So yeah, getting to the Inner Cloister went s-l-o-w (edit: must admit I switch back to my SC uber-Cheesadin quite a bit, to level him, and get some speed-play). It made me think back to when I first started playing: looking carefully at all possible gear, lifting every stone, kicking every barrel, opening every chest. And walking. Yes, not running, walking. I let Grim do that a lot. Keeps his Wolves closer, too. Grim found an Arctic Furs along the way, and it's real sweet at this level. The rest of his gear isn't half that noteworthy, haha! He did switch from melee to ranged 1 level ago, I finally got a nice bow for him, and it tends to be somewhat more safe.
Oh, and I have a question. I grabbed Wirt's Leg in Tristram, and am keeping it in my stash. But are we allowed to go back to Act 1 for the Cow Level after defeating Baal each difficulty? Or is that a nono, and should I stick to the game proper?
