After reading all of Superdave's thread and Corax's Single tree tounry. I have been inspired to join in with another character. Coronillia's name is inspired by the poisonous plant name Coronillia Varia. She also reminds me of a famous quote from Shakespear's 'Macbeth' "look like the innocent flower, but be the serpant under it" (something along thoes lines). The going will be very slow but very safe (hopefuly). She will only be using the passive skills. This means no bow or javlins, PASSIVE ONLY

. This does not mean i will be stopping play with Horatio.

In fact i may as well post an update on Horatio now. He is doing good so far i am running on p/5 from now on and act bosses will be done on p/3. I am in the black mashes and rescued cain last night....so next stop is the countress.

Im gonna retire both my characters, personal reasons and I feel that this torunemant is for personal play style, not enjoyment. (Last bit is not ment to be harsh and is entirely opnionated)

so.. rushed through Nightmare. I got 2 40 ias java's so i still kill pretty fast @ players8. Made myself 4 P topaz armor + helm.
I found disiple gloves :-D, I only need to wait till lvl 63, then i can wear them!

I'm gonna do baal now, then den of evil. And after that some baalruns to level &nd find items! I need some +all skills gear like vipermage or lidless or titants. or mara soj bk ^^ hehe. shako!
HF in nightmare gave me um rune! niceee!! now i just need that vipermagi to socked it hehe!
So Its going good. Some near death, I screamed my mother awake yesterday.. omg That was sooo close! oef :laugh: . I was out of potions and a monster with cold aura made me cold AND i was in a corner surrounded by 4/5 creatures. AND I did allready cast a TP, but i needed to pass the monsters to reach it. I couldn't cast another tp in that corner, couse as u know... amazons have 12 (or 11^^) frame cast speed.

near death ^^ pfiew.

I'm going for Valkyrie as secondary 'element', against lightning immunes. I hope it works. Less dmg then psn java (I think) but A LOT more defencive.

What is PMH? My 40ias java's are doing great now! Allready got 251mf. I hope to be a lucky b*sterd this time and find a titan haha.

I understand what you mean, its your discission. This tourny was just for people to change their playing style and see how far they can make it. But if this is usually how you play then...you dont have to join the tourny if you dont want.

@yourian: PMH is prevent monster heal. If you are going pure lightning, Hell will be, well, hell. The merc and a maxed valk can kill, but somewhat slowly. The only things you can do against lightning immunes are cast decoy, slow missiles, a PMH jab and as much crushing blow as you can collect. It's fun, but takes a little patience.

Back to my character... no ATMA use is hurting, there's so little stash space! /p8 for Duriel and Meph as well. To be honest, I find /p8 throughout boring. Overleveled character means very easy, time-consuming clears. Duriel was challenged when @lvl 28, with 11 pts in charged strike. It took 2 healing potions (for the merc), 3 mana pots, a dozen thawing potions, and about a minute in all. He dropped total junk, all blue items. Act 3 was uneventful as well, Bremm's area was a little messy because he had holy freeze aura and a cursed vampire boss joined the fun. Meph himself went down easily, but managed to kill the 1 pt valk once before dying.

Drops: 28% Nagel (that's 2 Nagels so far!), 2x Hsarus' Heel, Gore Foot, Sander's shoes, Berserker's Headgear, Jade Tan Do (from Meph, nice item but useless for this char), 2x Isenhart's shield, and exactly one useful item -- Nokozan Relic, found in Lower Kurast.

I'm running 100-150 MF at all times, including dual Nagel, 3 chip Topaz ring mail (can't find another 3socket armor, and cannot go back to Charsi!) and a 28MF circlet. Between decent damage, 75% block and 1pt D/A/E, I hardly get hit. 6 frame hit recovery (61%) takes care of when I DO get hit.

The merc got a nice poleaxe with ctc amp, %ed, 2 sockets. One socket has been filled with a 1-5 cold dmg/18%fire res jewel.

Chaos Sanctuary ahead. I'm a bit worried about the Infector, and Diablo himself, not sure if I can take on D. at /p8.

Since i started Coronillia i have had outstanding luck. I have done a full clears of the Blood Moor, Cold Plains (including the cave) and i cleared the crypt and the other one in the buriel grounds. I have found a very very nice rare sword which my zon is using now and pretty much 1 hit kills on p/8 atm. Take a look at it.

at this stage in the game this weapon is awesome. I also have a shield with a jewel that does 20 poison damage over 2 seconds and 7 % ed. My merc has got a 3soc Hunters bow and in it is a jewel that does 20 poison damage over 2 seconds, a chipped sapphire and a chipped ruby.

So everything is going really really good. I just got a 3os ring mail from charsi, which i will place topazes in ASAP.

I killed diablo at P1 in 2 minutes. 50 light res 350 life, some fire resist. No ND's, you can take 1 complete lightning attack. I was lvl 31 i think, 7 points in charge strike.
So at P8 with more points is charge strike will take u 10-15 minutes? ^^

So a recent windows reinstall due to my sister downloading corrupted files and such off of Limewire has left me without any Diablo 2. I tried to reinstall and the only D2 Cd's I have are scratched to heck and once my installation gets halfway done there's some sort of error with disk reading. So I have to order myself a new diablo. But that means a new CD key! So now I can do some MP games maybe.
Anyways. My Druid was doin pretty good. I got a decent rare Scythe (around 30 ish dmg, mana leech, cold dmg) and was mowing down act two with maul. Sadly he is no longer, so I put him on the RIP section.

Slayer Penthesilea! /p8 for Diablo and Baal, took a while but neither of them did much damage. Actually, that was true for all of normal difficulty. I used only 3 full rejuvs, all accidentally, when reaching for mana.

More junk drops: Lance of Yaggai (Diablo), Stormstrike, Angelic Mantle, Soul Harvest, Soulflay, Isenhart's Lightbrand, Sigon's visor and belt (both from Baal), a third 12% FHR GC, and an 8% FHR large charm. I can reach 91% FHR with max hit recovery gear... ridiculous. It's amazing just how many S/U's drop in the normal course of play with just ~150 MF and high player setting.

Baal also dropped a very sweet merc item, Pierre Tombale Couant. Good damage, deadly strike, FHR. Smacking good weapon.

For Nightmare, I'm going to try p7 clears with MF going. LF/CS rule at the moment, no lightning immunes just yet and I have decent(ish) fire and lightning resists, so it shouldn't be very difficult or dangerous.

did some good progress with Coronillia today. I decided to change my playing style and do full clears. It is a personal choice that i have decided for many reasons.

one- becuase this is untwinked we dont have the luxury to have our grear worked out for us. So by doing full clears gives me a better chance of getting better items.

two- More exp means easier going. If i level faster means i will have strong skills and stats making normal easier than usual.

three- you start the game as a young boy/girl and quickly develope into a fighting machine. You are given quest to kills certain monsters or retreive certain items etc. And to me just doing that isnt enough. We need to clear all possible threats that could effect the townsfolk. Meaning kill everything :wink3:

ok back on track. I decided to due this around the black marsh. So act 1 is about 80% fully cleared. I thought Anadariel on p/8 and it was quite easy. My rogue kept on dieng but the drop was worth it. I was so happy with finding bloodfist, it is perfect for this part of the game. I picked it up to quickly see this.. it just had to be ethereal didn't it. However it was my first unique and set item to drop which is a good sign. I will use the gloves until they die and then i will go back to my hold ones.

tomorrow will probably see me getting both the cube,staff and the amulet. I will aslo test getting a defiance merc and making a Savage polearm on him when i get the cube.

PS. Horatio killed the countress and grew a level. I will probably bench him until i guardian Coronillia.

Finished a bunch of Nightmare during the past few days but haven't had time to update. I am not going to have time to play for the next few days to a week, mainly do the the start of the new semester and I want to get off to a fresh start.

So far I am still doing players 8 all the way. Haven't lowered it yet, and I can really tell by the results in quality and quantity drops. I am getting some pretty good stuff for her. One of by best being Tal's Belt from the Catacombs; and Tal's Mask from Act II. I thought the Hat was kind of funny when I found it because I found it at level 57 and can't use it til level 66. O well, but I am excited because my life finally reached over 1000.

So far I have not rerun any areas and don't plan on it at all through NM. I will also not lower the players setting lower than 8 through NM (we'll see how the Ancients go). I will try to keep up the single pass running up til I get to Hell. Hell will probably be a different story though, I might throw in some Andy or Pits runs but we'll see. Well I'll post an update once I get alittle further.

Kevian the fishymancer just watched as Andariel was slowly chipped into pieces. No problems at all so far, but that was the case with Lorahana as well before her unexpected demise. Hopefully history won't repeat itself.
