I thought this was supposed to be a "content patch"? I don't see any. The only new items mentioned in the patch notes are respec related.

So far (from other forums, word of mouth from the OP, and Oprhan has posted it as well), it seems that rune drop rates have increased by 2x to 3x.

Edit: The two drop rate columns refer to the odds of dropping to the next lower rune treasure class. For Runes 17 the new drop chance is 1/20682 to drop a Zod and 20681/20682 to go to Runes 16 and roll again.


The drop improvements start at the category 'Runes 12' which drops Mal and Ist runes. The improvement there is only minor but it grows from there to Zod which is almost exactly four times more common.

Roughly:

Cham : 3x more common
Jah : 3x more common
Ber : 2.3x more common
Sur : 2.3x more common
Lo : 1.77x more common
Ohm : 1.77x more common

ATMA and GoMule DO NOT work with the new Misc items.

I'm working on a fix for GoMule right now, but I need a copy of a character with the new quest items on it (I don't have d2 installed :P )

What the hell , 120 posts in few hours :)
seems that new patch is really interesting
btw. I do not like so much any changes beacuse I really liked 1.10-1.12 patch
some changes are really interesting beacuse thanks to IM end, CS will be better even for some builds dependent on ACT II merc Also good is change with hammerdin beacuse imune monster will make that build more balanced to another builds
Rune drop rate do not count so much beacuse 2-3 times close to 0 is still close to 0 :)
I never believed that I can do so many kills to have probability for drop so high rune as Ber or somethink , it is only random
Community only have another excuse why quite every second player have infinity or somethink with Ber+

Btw. will characters from 1.12 possible for 1.13? Is the same style as 1.11 to 1.12 switch with chars, items and that?

Question for silo: I supppose that ATMA will be OK in 1.13 same as 1.12 so will be no problem , Hope that same with your run counter

Question fo corrupted: When 1.13 patch should came to SPF , to reality? It is quite important for some MF tournaments I think and I want to know how big possibility is for having it up to half of January :)
(If you wrote it into first post, excuse me but I am too lazy to read everythink :whistling: )
And will you finally start to play again? :p

ATMA is apparently also broken with the new misc items. That is, if you have one of the new misc items on your character and try to open it, it'll explode :)

Anyone know if the Hellforge quest still drops up to Gul? It'd be interesting to know if they changed that.

It looks like the DC6 file (the image of the item in the inventory) is missing, which is causing the crash.

just kidding, I have no idea what are you talking about but I believe you will do it without problem beacuse you are a big computer master :)

Sounds like they took pretty much all of the remaining difficulty out of the game. Honestly I can't find a single point on the path notes that make me happy. Increased power of a couple skills is nice, but I doubt it will really make them much more useful, and I just can't get over all the parts of the notes.

On the plus side, I was planning on quitting D2 after I finish up my current unique chars project and complete the grail. With this joke of a patch I very much intend to keep to that plan.

Problem is, the images are in teh MPQ files with no names, so I'm guessing which ones are which. I need one of each essence and the token to do this, I have a twisted essence of suffering so far, but I need the rest!

I just do not understand how hard it could be to nerf the reflected damage taken from Iron Maiden when cast by the Oblivion Knights, i mean seriously, why just remove it?

I do not understand how some people can actually defend respecs. I restarted playing SP a few months ago, i started with a meteorber and accounted for the fact that she would be sporting a spirit shield, so now she has way too much strength, (and way too much dex as i used a crappy Blade of Ali Baba, and just now found a gull dagger) and guess what, i don't give a flying **** as she's doing just fine and if i did i would remake her which i won't be doing until i pretty much have my gear planned. SO IT IS SOMETHING TO LOOK FORWARD TO, its called REPLAYABILITY, a word lost on Blizzard it seems.

So no, i won't be using respecs ever, its cheesy, its lame, its for noobs who don't know you can actually make a second character. Ok, i'm lying a bit to be honest, i will be using respecs in the case that i misclick a stat or skillpoint on a level 90+ character, something which could be easily solved without unlimited full respecs. (say, a rare 1 stat/skill point respec "orb" or whatever you can use in such a case, rarity of say half a HR)

Doppel, it sounds like you're someone that's willing to follow guides (loosely, at least) when starting a game. However, when I start any new game, I begin by actually playing it. If it looks potentially fun I'll figure out more info later, but when starting out I usually have absolutely no clue about what will and won't work, especially in the long term. So while you started with a Meteorb and probably made tolerably quick progress through Normal and Nightmare and Hell, I started with a Bashing Barb with ~18 in Iron Skin that slowed down pretty fast. But at that time I liked my barb and would've gladly kept trudging along if he'd been viable longer than he was.

Being ignorant of what works and what doesn't and discovering ways around those problems are part of the challenge and appeal of learning a new game. I'm well aware that at some point if I don't want to follow a guide I could screw up and have to start over if I want to progress very far. When the game's fun enough, I'm willing to do that - not everyone will be, which is why I think they made respec's.

Yes respec's are fischer-price/cheese that's unnecessary for you & I. But if Blizzard's trying to increase their market saturation of D2 before D3 comes out, odds are they weren't making all of their changes based solely on what's 'required' for experienced players.

Just wanted to chime in on the respecing that seems to have generated a lot of conversation around here.

I am actually OK with respecing as long as they keep it limited (unlimited respecs, even if it is only granted by a special item, is just insane). 3 respecs/character is a good number, it will allow characters to try a slightly different allocation and change back if their new strategy doesn't work out. I never liked having to delete a char in A1 Hell and create an entirely new one with essentially the same build just because I wanted to place a couple of skillpoints somewhere else. I just hope Blizz will realize just how ridiculous unlimited respecs are and take out that "feature" by the release date. With unlimited there would pretty much zero incentive to plan characters, which is half the fun of the game IMO.

Someone mentioned copying characters in ATMA and making a bunch of different builds from the same template. I agree that would be possible, but it's basically duping and I doubt it will be accepted around here.

Hmm bad imo.

Removing IM seems abit boring nothing is more exiting than WW or Zeal in OK infested areas.

No new runewords or did I miss something.

Ahh well bought Torchlight yesterday so maybe sticking to that

Wow....so many post in such a short time.

Don't like the reduced damage gloam and IM. Nothing is more fun than watching melee chars GG'ing themselves. Looks like for CS running, I can stick with a melee merc now
