Re: 1.13 Public Test Realm online!
The FE explosion and Gloam lightning "nerfs" are in actual fact bug fixes, so I can't see why anyone would cry over that. Personally, I always hated having to stack lightning resistance on every damn character purely because of Gloams, where I might have otherwise chosen to give more weight to other aspects of my characters. The real disappointment is that they didn't also fix the Inferno bug, which would have made those winged demons much, much more scary (and probably those frozen thingies too), and been an ample compensation for losing overpowered gloams.
My real disappointment is the lack of bug fixes: AR bow bug, inferno bug, CoS bug, HotO Ravens/Peace Valkyrie "poofing" bug, D/A/E bug. Making the game work as intended should, in my view, be a high priority.
I would have also liked to have seen some effort to make some of the useless low level skills a bit more useful (e.g. Raven, Magic Arrow, Bash, Teeth).
As for the IM removal on OKs, I always thought it was a bit unfair on those who, unlike me, like to get up close and personal. In a similar way I've always thought the everything is immune to something approach was unfair on sorcs in particular. Basically, I don't like things which overly punish those who go down the specialisation route. I would love to see immunities disappear, coupled with a significant nerfing of the ability to lower resistances (e.g. cap LR and Conviction at 50%, maybe 1% per level, do the same with CM or switch to a damage boost like the other masteries), so that every build can kill every monster, but some will go down very slowly for those who choose specialisation over versatility. I would do something about Amp Damage (and maybe Decrep too) at the same time - instread of a flat -100%, make it progressive.
On the upside I love the nerfing of cheesydins, more for the thought of all those who will be rather upset by it than anything. I also love the increased rune drop chances. Probably could have went a bit further (to the point where Last Wish became an attainable dream would be a good point to aim for, I mean look at the stats on the thing! Massive damage + Might Aura + CB + ctc Life Tap + ITD + PMH + Blind + Fade = massive amounts of win!).
As for respeccing, I don't really care too much one way or the other, but I suspect the quest reward and item collection routes are both being tested to figure out which is the best way to go in the final patch.
