1.11 Release Notes

I agree, and in fact will go as far as to state that my prior disbelief has somewhat lessened, especially in light of what we know now.

I'm actually pretty happy about the seemingly fixed FE damage, and hopefully fixed gloam damage, as it means that melee chars can actually adventure without being too fearful of what mods a boss has, and also that insta-death from miles off screen might not be so common (conviction bosspack could still be as deadly though).

The Countess just dropped a Key of Terror. It takes up 2 inventory spaces, just like a Large Charm. If anyone wants a screenshot, just give me his/her e-mail address.
Send it to desertcattleya (at) gmail.com, and I will post it up for everyone to see.

Um guys I think we got ALL of the runewords, at least the second set of Realm Only Runewords (Spirit, Dream, Ininity etc). My friend who just reinstalled his Diablo 2 loaded up one of his RWM characters full of the RWs and they all work. (Yes he hacked the items onto his char, he only uses SP as a testing ground for his b.net builds).

He exited the game and loaded his char back up and the new RWs were still there, and the items that grant auras do indeed display the auras and they indeed take effect (Concentration on Pride etc).

I asked him and he is absolutely positive the RWM is not on his computer right now.

Seomeone reported in battle.net forum that in SP Hell Countess dropped Key of Terror...

I think is bull****ting, but if someone can do a fast Countess Run in hell and check...
Besides the Countess having a small chance to drop the Key of Terror in Hell difficulty, the Summoner has a chance to drop the Key of Hate and Nihlathak has a small chance to drop the Key of Destruction.

Do you think we have something new?

Sent!

Important info: if anyone finds this item, DO NOT open the character file in ATMA, or your character might be corrupted!

That'll be because he created them when he was using the RWM, as of 1.11 all the runeword details are in the runes.txt file, all the post-1.10 realm only runewords are flagged as "Server", meaning bnet only, but since the items were already created and in existence, and the details are available to reference in-game, his items didn't go poof.

Have him try to make another one of the realm only runewords in 1.11 with no RWM installed, and it'll fail. If it doesn't, he's got a different game to the rest of us, because we already know that they dont work.

People have already tried to make the b.net ladder runewords like Edge and Insight with no success. I guess you can't make the runewords in an unmodded game, but you can make them with the RWM then port them over. If that's true, I suppose it's because the new runewords are already included and activated in the runes.txt file and it's only the "server" flag that prevents them from being made in SP.

Edit: Pwned by Method. Can anyone check to see if the no-CD crack still works with 1.11?

If people are testing stuff, I would be interested to know what Fangskin drops in Hell. They changed his drop TC in Hell to... something that isn't defined in the TC tree. So who knows, really

Almost no other changes apparent. Nosferatu's Coil's life leech has been nerfed from 10% to 5-7%, about the only change in any existing items. Drop rates are all still the same. How dull.

[edit] correct on the server flag. It will noly be being checked at creation, not when you bring in an existing one of the affected words.

No reason why the No-Cd crack shouldn't still work. The game is practically unchanged.

Where is Fangskin located?
