1.07 News, Info and Gossip

There is no evidence that I read in that thread of anything other than Hunter's Bows dropping in 1.12/1.23.

Unless I missed other data?
 
It would be very strange if stable bow racks in NM/hell existed, and none of you have run into one. I have gotten an exploding potion, a short siege bow and a staff, all of them in 1.10+
 
it's been a long time since I really looked for gear in 1.07, and I know MF doesn't really work like it does in later patches. I plan to rack a good bit of my gear, but there are other pieces that can certainly drop. Do you guys do anything aside from racking? Is hell meph worth killing at all? I have basically zero MF, but that will change pretty quickly
 
Don't run act bosses without 556 MF (in hell)

Random bosspacks in nm or hell can drop decent uniques like blackhorn's, valk wing, SoE, vamp gaze, skullder's, etc.

Stuff like shako needs to be racked though (or at least that's the only feasible way)

Unfortunately you're pretty much stuck with racking gear or wearing 4os armor with rubies and garbage like that to start.

Thanks for the response Phar. I guess I'm more thinking of things that you wouldn't rack - sojs and saracen's chance, things like that. Or lower level uniques useful in leveling up other characters or sigon's pieces.
 
You can get those from bosses and at a reasonable pace but not with huge MF since you can only do /p1 ;(
Ofc bosspacks aren't likely to drop them either... iirc it's something like 1/200 chance for a drop to be unique from a unique monster and then the chance of it being useful ofc is much lower. Still, I got plenty of useful things before running trav such as from the evil urn boss in nihl's temple which I usually killed while racking
 
Awesome, thanks again Phar. last question for now - do you cube up all your gems that aren't sapphires (mpk rings)? I'm not sure if I should just keep them at their early states for crafting
 
Leave all gems as they are except flawless which I cubed as I went since you can't move things around as efficiently as with gomule. Note that when the crafting guide says "sapphire" is really means ANY sapphire, so if you cube gems you're really just wasting them if your intent is crafting. Pgems are required for the prismatic amulet recipe, though, which is where all my pgems went (giving very little success)
 
Question about crafts: can crafted rings get mana leech? (ilvl 65 from lvl 99 char... apparently)

I'm tempted to replace my blood ring with a mana leech ring so I can use something other than pskull in my baranar's... (ber, anyone!?)

Died immediately (1 zeal, <0.5 sec) with max cold/lite res and 15 mdr (and you can see I had conviction active as well just in case) and 2887 life

I wasn't joking in the past when I said MSLE PI = 5k dmg per sec to my WW barb (under conviction)

I'm afraid to open my ATMA to see the charms I lost. I did lose 19 and 20 max dmg pcomb skillers...

Lost ark, baranar, SS, shako, sexy blood ring, saracen's and ravenfrost.

This whole thing lasted only 500 runs from 85-86 lol

Now I don't know what to do while I watch youtube videos or listen to the biggest problem in the universe podcast... I'm tempted to just find a RoF + Halls map with a shrine or two and superchests and just run those for a couple dozen hours (zod anyone?)...

Is there anything I should be racking at this point? I don't really care enough about (m)any uniques in 1.07, and the elite set items are kinda worthless without the set bonus

It depends on your next goals. 99 something in 1.13d? You can get spare stuff for them.

Get gear for a really safe 1.10a BKWB runner?
 
I already got 2x BKWB in 1.10a on a sorc (back in Oct). I did rush a drood for 1.13 (fissure in AT) but I'm not sure if I feel like actually playing it yet. I could always use more shakos, since atm I think I only have the two my sorc + merc wear in 1.07
 
Also if I found a 1.07 zod you know I would totally use it on a 1.07 skullder's or something IN 1.07 for 1.07 zod god, the tournament I will simultaneously start :D

What gear / setup for 1.07 Javazon? I'm thinking:

20 LF / CS / Pierce / ??

Valkyrie Wing
Mav's Belt
Natalya's Boots
Skullders -> Arkaine's
MPK Rings
+Zon Amulet if I can get one.

Nor sure what to do about gloves / weapons. Are +3 Jav gloves shoppable in 1.07? Or only craftable?
 
I maxed out valk which was convenient for herding them at times (5k+ life and very tanky)

I didn't max the AR skill (just the pierce% one) and there are two options for wep swap that I think are good:
1) Something like coldsteel eye on switch for mega CB, slow, etc.*
2) bow like buriza for acceptable dmg on unique enemies and source of leech or whatever if needed... can use 1+ pts in strafe for this (guided arrow doesn't work like it supposedly does in 1.09 from what I hear)

*you have to throw a jav and in the first few frames after throwing when you go back to resting animation you can wep swap and all the bolts that come out from the cows will then carry the extra crushing blow, etc.)

I like titan's revenge as the wep I used because knockback also applies on the bolts and so not only will slow + cold dmg limit the risk of cows nearby, but knockback interrupts them for about an entire second.

I didn't use valk wing but that's because I was being extra safe with blackhorn's (lite sorb.. slow target is also nice)

You don't need mpk rings if you're using mav's belt and have more than 0 physical dmg imo. A better use for those slows would maybe be a source of dmg, ravenfrost for CBF, SoJ, BKWB, or mdr (dwarf star)

If you're doing >p1 games I would try to include an enchantress because with +3 fire skill mediocre gear and a handful of skillers mine was able to add ~760 fire dmg (which carries on every single bolt, and is higher than the lit dmg you will do with a high lvl LFury)
 
Max you are running SC char? In that case you want something like 100IAS / 100% CB setup with as much frw as you can get.
Just couple tips; don't bother with javelin skills, lightning damage is worthless. Don't bother with maxers in inventory, they don't work with LF. Only thing worth having in inventory are frw charms. And you will need them as your overall frw with setup I recommend is rather low.

Head: guil's face (35CB 15 IAS jewel)
Amulet: cat's eye (20 IAS 30 frw)
Weapon: crafted javelin with 10 IAS min and as much damage as you can get or stack/rep combo (damage isn't even that important)
Armor: rattlecage (25% CB 15 IAS jewel)
Shield: tiamat's rebuke (4 x elemental damage 10-20 damage that works on LF, 15IAS jewel)
Gloves: 20IAS/15CB craft (or 20/10 lesser craft, forget javelin skills)
Belt: mav's
Boots: goblin toes (25% CB)
Ring1: RF
Ring2: mpk, random craft, anything goes

You can and don't have to bother with switch where you can have cruel crafted elite bow with shaenefshae and 1 point GA to kill remaining cows. Check breakpoints for bow base choice.

Max LF, pierce, 1 point GA and do whatever you want with rest of the skills. Decoy, valk, stronger GA, whatever you fancy.
With setup above you will rock 100IAS/95-100CB on your zon. Gear has only 70 frw, but you can use your inventory to ramp it up with plain 3 frw scs. Spare javelin is also good choice.

Since your zon will be pure physical damage, watch out for cow king. Avoid that area completely since she can oneshot him with some good pierce/CB procs.

CB scales with high psettings in 1.07 so she will be effective in MP games as well. It might not be worst idea to get ctc amp damage on your javelin if you are lucky, but it's far from necessary. It would help you picking remaining few cows with your bow. Knockback is also nice, but needed for HC only.

I think this is single best setup you can come up with. Shield is also not relevant. Only thing you want to do it get as high cb as possible, hit either 55 or 95 IAS brakpoints, have CBF and cold damage source and have enough sustain with ml,ll,mpk and spare javelin.

Are you sure maxers don't boost LFury dmg? Physical dmg carries on the bolts (which is why leech works) so I'd be confused if it didn't work. They ofc will help with a bow switch if it's used, as well
