Etdlahq Memorial Bar - your shelter from forum crashes continued

I wasn't expecting to retire for another ten years, but my wife and I met with our financial advisor. She ran 1,000 different scenarios based on good and bad historical scenarios, and concluded that we'd have a 99% chance of till having assets left at age 95 in 981 out of the 1,000. 100% is impossible, so it really didn't make sense to keep working unless we were passionate about what we do for work.

We both liked our jobs, but not as much as we like not working. She's 47 and will retire at the end of March 2025. We have some travel planned - Cancun in June, little league world series in Pennsylvania in August, looking at Ireland next Fall.
That's brilliant Noodle. Very jealous.

So which hobbies have you never had time for that you think you'll take up?

I love baseball, especially when was coaching my son's team back in the day. I'd love to get certified as a little league umpire, help teach kids the game. I also want to get involved in homeless outreach - in fact, from 5 to 9 tonight I'll be cooking and serving meals at two different locations. Really looking forward to it. Oh, and I gave myself a new guitar as a retirement gift (at my wife's insistence.) here's my current lineup:

Nice. I've been running my own numbers and reckon I can retire safely in about 10 years, which would make me 48.

That said we just had our first child in July - so I am sure our expenses will go up :D

Yeah I see you pulling a Antonio Banderas kind of deal like in desperados.

There's an awful lot of authority in here. None of them should look under the tarp in the cabana. There's no contraband anywhere under there.

Nice guitars! I’ve been playing since I was 13. Though these days I play electric bass more than guitar. I am also a massive baseball fan.

Congrats, very jealous. Maybe one day I'll retire, you know if the entire system doesn't collapse before then.

You will be only about 3 hours away from me for the little league world series, you should stop by!

Yep, expenses go up, savings go down. The magic of children. Mine are already 11 (almost 12) and 10, goes fast.

Mrs. Pancake wants to spawn, but I'm holding firm that we need to get my health addressed first. It will take both of us at our full power to rear such a demonic creature.
