@DazliareThe short answer is, in general, yes. You have a better chance of finding grail items in Terror Zones, simply because there are more high level monsters to drop them, but you also have to factor in that monster level depends on your level.

Now if you have a Pitzerker with 500% MF you are probably better off running the Pits, but that gets boring for some of us.

Terror Zones or not it is also going to depend on how much Magic find you have and your level. My Wolfbarb was running with 65% MF and was finding almost nothing. I decided to switch back to War Travelers and raise my MF to 107%. I also reached level 96. Since then (5 days) I've found M'avina's diadem, IK Soul Cage, Gargoyle's Bite, Azurewrath, M'avina's Embrace and Taebaek's Glory.


I don't think that's coincidence, but now that I've put it in writing I probably won't find anything nice for a week!

You can, but my point was that, even if you can optimize 1 character and 1 playstyle, you can't have an ideal map for every terror zone at once for that particular character, and you'll lose a lot of time if you try to re-roll map for that all-purpose character every hour trying to find one.

So, what's more efficient for finding the grail? An all-around character, with way-less-than-ideal maps, farming TZ or an specialized build running tailor-made scenarios in a fantastic non-TZ map? No idea, but I'm inclined to say the second one.

Too true!! I haven't rerolled a Hell map for my Wolfbarb because he got an almost perfect WSK map for running Baal and many of the other maps are suboptimal. For example, LK only has one camp fire. My luck in finding good maps is Absymal so other than finding a very good LK map I usually don't even try.

Well maybe I was wrong. This evening so far I've found a Wizard Spike, Andy dropped only my second Highlord's Wrath and the Duriel the stingy one dropped a Cham which I think will go towards a Hand of Justice.

Didn’t it auto update? I have the Blizzard process running in the system tray and it did it even though I started from the exe shortcut.

I was also wondering about TZ. I’m not sure the drops are better from TZ in real terms compared to a dedicated alvl 85 map. The IFT makes them appear better but that may have a lot to do with the fact people are spending more time in them at the moment.

Not unless you block the connection with the Firewall. It was said it helps with the initial loading time but I didn't notice anything. Under normal conditions, yes it will update not matter what. I just wanted to complete the Pit Project I was running and didn't want the new patch to break the item compatiblity which as it seems it doesn't.

Terrorized Andariel always deliver! This haul is crazy for just one hour of farming:

CoA was a grailer for me! And I also get some more goodies, like an Andy Visage, a TRT, a fire facet, a Stormspire, a -73% cold sundering charm... it's crazy.

So today was my first day to play the new patch, I immediatly rolled two mosaic claws to try the fully charged martial arts assassin, it's actually quite crazy how she destroys every area and boss so easily at p/8, even though it's sometimes a bit tricky to manage the 15seconds delay before charges disappear

Indeed, she’s off the hook. Absolutely wrecks densely populated areas but probably won’t beat other farming characters simply because she can’t pick up the stuff that drops without losing her charges. She’s crazy on terrorized cows, but you really have to clear the area and then go back through and pick up drops. I haven’t tried with more MF gear yet, though.

I've been playing my PSsin basically every day since the patch dropped, and it's forced me to get better about checking drops quickly. I keep a 2x4 spot open in the inventory and I'll often grab items and peek at them while Dragon Talon is going to judge items in a second or two. Outside of cows, it's been working pretty well.

To not be entirely off topic:



I just got her to 93 (she was 86 when the patch came out), so I'm going to take another crack at 100 caster ammies. I'll edit in results in a little while. If I don't edit soonish, that means that I got a 2/20 sin ammy and died.

Nice find! When I find a Poison Sunder GC, I will probably dust off my Poison Necro to try it out. I don’t have Death’s Web, but Blackbog’s Sharp (socketed with a Poison Facet) combined with the 3-piece Trang-Oul’s set and Lower Resist already works quite well in most cases. It would be nice to make a ‘Bramble’ too, but I’m saving my Ohm rune for if I ever find a Jah, as it will probably go towards ‘Faith’ first. Don’t have a Sur anyways…
