The Most Extreme Elimination Challenge Mafia Edition

That would also leave two options left so if one was lynched and revealed to be town, then the argument could be "well then X must be scum" which could have ended the game. If one is left, this could steer the discussion of "scum or not" with no way would numbers kill gory based on the party host results potentially clearing them (and would have been an amazing play)

Instead, they go for Coju to keep all options in play. And Gwaihir is saying we should focus on the Drixx results. HMM.

The fact that focusing on who targeted drixx would have, if followed to it's natural conclusion, resulted in a town loss, is the main reason why I spent so much time bringing up alternate ways to approach the situation(namely the goldtru lynch).

What you're saying about the targeting discussion is the ONLY reason why my vote isn't locking Goryani right now.

I take the big ball in one hand and use the other to throw the balls back at Danny!

Anyways, it has been what, 3 days, and we still don't have a a role from coju or Gold? They are near the top my list of most suspicious people today.

That said, we have another interesting point - Laarz seems to be telling the truth about his role. Drixx threatened bad things if the mafia chose incorrectly on thier night kills. I find it very unlikely that the replay power and the hitman were used by the same person - which means either Numbers or Gory was likely the one who killed Drixx.

Gory - did you ever vote and have it not count? Can you vote today? What powers have you used so far and on whom?

Noodle - you remember anything yet?

This is also a really good point. I again don't envy anyone town. Yeesh.

With 2 votes on Goryani and 2 Votes on Jcakes, there has been a tie! Goryani was at lynch first and has been lynched.

END GAME:
BPC: It seems as though the contestants have turned on our fellow host, Vic Romano! Wow they are just tearing him apart! So many insults and slander, he is literally crying. OH AND LOOK AT THIS, the contestants are going in for the kill, by pushing him into our pool of death for the surfboard of death challenge! What a way to go, Phar!

Pharphis: Right you are, BPC!

BPC: What an exciting conclusion to the day! With all of the Hosts dead and some contestants left in the game, it seems as though our Contestants have won the game!

Pharphis: So let’s tally up the points!

For defeating the evil hosts, both the Glory Hauler’s team and the Meat Industry score a point to tie things up!

BPC: With 3 team member’s left on the Glory Haulers and 2 left on the Meat Industry, Glory Hauler’s edge out a sweet win with an extra point.

Both: The final score for the game is 2 to 1 with Glory Hauler’s taking it all home!

Stay Tuned for our MXC TOP 10 ELIMINATIONS OF THE DAY!

GORYANI HAS BEEN LYNCHED. He was Vic Romano – Mafia – Jack-Of-All-Trades

Congratulations to Town for winning the game! You vanquished the EVIL hosts into our sponsored pit of mystery meat! Thank you Yobagoya Meat!

Further congratulations to the Glory Haulers for having more players than the Meat Industry! Great job on NOT BEING ELIMINATED!

The Mafia were: Goldtru, Goryani, Laarz, and LightNingismyNick

Go Glory Haulers!!!!

Great and entertaining game BPC and Pharphis. Thanks a ton for the amusing and unpredictable game.

Thanks for hosting! Glad I could stir unintentional confusion with my posts. I thought for sure Numbers and Gory were a team with that Cakes vote lol.

Haha. :D I actually just voted because I had already asked pharphis what woudl happen if there were 2 votes on each(hoping they would let me tie the votes and lynch jcakes and gory and thus only make us lose if gwaihir was scum, which I was 99% he wasn't), and he told me whoever was up to 2 votes first would be lynched. At the time I asked, goryani was already at 2 votes, so my vote was basically useless, and since I was hanging around the whole time, I figured it would be fun to mess with peoples heads and use my blank vote on jcakes to confuse everyone. :P

Thanks for the game. I loved it and special thanks to scum killing me off. I was so looking forward to a dead thread. But town, you did a really awfull jobb. You did not deserve to win. If you play this game, at least try to meet your win condition. You know, voting and such, especially scumhunting is a good thing to do for town. I am really disappointed.

So I was given the Lightning Rod as a bonus gift becuase I was the first person to make a post over 200 words long on my last day alive. Sort of amusing that they actually had a bonus for a day specifically tailored for ole wall-o-text Drixx ... I imagine they were anticipating that and hoping for it when I got assigned Party Host. Lightning Rod + Party Host = mad hilarious.

It's so difficult late game as town, Moar... don't go too hard on them. Every time I live late there's just so much WIFOM to sort through. In this particular game I think the final scum was obvious for awhile due to stuff that happened and claims made earlier, and you could see the townies were aware of those things but for some reason weren't realizing it made a very solid case.

Also, my apologies to Zokar. Any comments directed at him were purely from a gameplay stand point of me knowing that Skanki needed to kill me to win. I don't think he needs to reevaluate anything and his play was brilliant. I had some slight second guessing, but knew it was just a ruse and that Skanki needed to kill me to win.

That is inspired.

Everything will get updated later tonight. Phar and I are just super busy!

I can't wait to see what the roles all were. I was greatly amused by the fluffy vanilla roles. E-listener. Lol.

You confused the crap out of me. I came back to see you did that and wondered how it would work out.

Thanksgiving is a rough time to try and keep up posts. I was hosting my family this year and then had to get caught up on work. Just not enough time to pay close enough attention. I think this is the first game in a while I didn't even manage to get a spreadsheet of claims and suspects.

Also lol at me accusing Gory of not making cases and middle voting when I was doing the exact same thing. I kinda felt dumb at that point.

Thanks for my first mafia game!

Thanks for joining us, and come on back for another!

So, my thoughts on the game, in a critical sense:

Useless role powers are kinda annoying. I would have rather been vanilla for my role, than had to go to the trouble of submitting an action to no effect every single night. I can see the roles if there was a scum role cop(which it doesn't seem there was, unless that was part of gory's JOAT suite of tools), just as a balancing tool...but I think a town role cop is innately weaker than a scum role cop, and so there's no practical purpose to it, and in my case, it was just annoying. So, yeah, only worthwhile if you feel mafia is a bit stronger than they should be and they have a role cop, so it's harder for the role cop to identify true power roles.

Prizes/Penalties: I don't mind hidden things myself, but I know others do...perhaps it should have been spelled out a bit more clearly in the signups however. A warning to expect shenanigans is not sufficient warning that things will occur which we have no reason to expect. Especially notable since Drixx's prize swung the entire game around.

I think that's it for the moment. I might have more thoughts after actually seeing the game setup.
