I feel like that is over-thinking it a bit. I get what you are saying about 6 lines representing the roman numeral for 12, but I don't see where that gets us.
To expand on this, what's "come before" is two hours I guess? Or what's passed. From 12 to 2? Lol, iunno. This just seems to refer to a clock. The beams seem represent the beams you may expect to find in roman numerals, i.e., on older clocks. The six beams must be refering to XII, or 12. If that was all linked together with beams it would have 6 beams, and represent the number twelve. I guess if you exclude the top and bottom beams on the second time, "2", it would just be ll, or two beams. It's moved on, from 12 to 2, either AM or PM.
That was really confusing to type out, so I hope you understand what I mean.
The bolded statements are bolded for story purposes and have nothing to do with the task. The task is a hidden riddle in a portion of the text I wrote myself. I really ought not to give even this much of a hint but I honestly thought someone would figure it out and have it solved already.
Answer: Ancient KA the soulless.
You guys already found the elements of the task ... you just haven't figured out what to do with them yet. The answer is easily found in the Wiki.
This wins.
Sorry to ruin your game, drixx, but apparently I've won.
I hope this is a task one can complete without having read the books. I haven't read them. Gave up after about 50 pages or so of book 1. Stephen King is just not for me. Don't think I have ever completed a book he wrote. I've read the wiki recap though, but that sounded rather weird. Guess I have to read it again.
I'd like to know if the task can be solved by just the story here or if you need to know the lore.
Riddle me this, riddle me that, who is the big black bat?
Now there's a riddle.
