Forum Mafia - The Dark Tower Game Thread

I feel like that is over-thinking it a bit. I get what you are saying about 6 lines representing the roman numeral for 12, but I don't see where that gets us.

I think King just thought of the world like a clock, especially since he keeps referring to the idea of time and moving on all over the series. i don't think that means anything, but sure maybe it's something special still.

This just seems to refer to a clock. The beams seem represent the beams you may expect to find in roman numerals, i.e., on older clocks. The six beams must be refering to XII, or 12. If that was all linked together with beams it would have 6 beams, and represent the number twelve. I guess if you exclude the top and bottom beams on the second time, "2", it would just be ll, or two beams. It's moved on, from 12 to 2, either AM or PM.

That was really confusing to type out, so I hope you understand what I mean.
To expand on this, what's "come before" is two hours I guess? Or what's passed. From 12 to 2? Lol, iunno.

The bolded statements are bolded for story purposes and have nothing to do with the task. The task is a hidden riddle in a portion of the text I wrote myself. I really ought not to give even this much of a hint but I honestly thought someone would figure it out and have it solved already.

How hidden is this hidden riddle? I don't see any riddles in the text. I remember you posting that encrypted code in the NCIS game. A code you also said was rather easy and you were surprised no one had yet decoded.

You guys already found the elements of the task ... you just haven't figured out what to do with them yet. The answer is easily found in the Wiki.

I thought knowledge of the story wasn't needed for the riddle? Like seriously, dawg.

I'm assuming it has to do with time or clocks or some shenanigans, but I don't know how to "apply" that knowledge. Everyone put their clock behind two hours? EST? PST? Jeesh.

What comes before?

The answer is Go?

Blaine the pain tricky Drixxy?

I have no idea. Last sentence of first paragraph asks what comes before. The word that comes before the word before in the story is the word Go twice...I think. Not sure if this is the answer.

Ka is a wheel. For the inhabitants of all-world, this has ever been so. When last the world began to turn, six beams there were, and twelve guardians to guard them. But the world has moved on, and now but two remain.

The remaining two guardians are the bear and the turtle I believe.

Then again a task is not necessarily a riddle.

I hope this is a task one can complete without having read the books. I haven't read them. Gave up after about 50 pages or so of book 1. Stephen King is just not for me. Don't think I have ever completed a book he wrote. I've read the wiki recap though, but that sounded rather weird. Guess I have to read it again.

I'd like to know if the task can be solved by just the story here or if you need to know the lore.

Maybe it's just SK for you, but I also wasn't too into the first book. Loved the second, though.
