here is the part where I kinda miss Gorny (okay, I miss him a lot, but... yeah....) and where he rips into me being a Texan and I rip into him for being a Yank. Okay, not r"rip into" but joke about how he's boring and such because he's from the north and I am some idiot in Texas and he threatens my duck... or my hair...

to anyone outside the US, yes. Americans = Yanks. IN the US, it's a term meaning Northerners. I am a Southerner so I get called a redneck, a hillbilly, "Oh, you live in Texas? You must ride your horse and tractors to school and **** your family members!" To which I reply, "No, that'd be Arkansas."

You could always counter that at least Texas has money. From my (American) companys presentation last year they said that something like only 4 American states are actually able to cover their current debts. I believe most of them were southern states

So, today I went to my gp and told her (new gp!) that my bowel and related issues are really wrecking my life. She had a plan which sounded standard to me but at least she's willing to ship me through the whole cycle of examinations they can do.
The first part is I had 6 tubes of blood taken out of me. That wasn't very pleasant, as I was wearing a tight shirt, as I hadn't anticipated a blood test. It also involved cycling, as the gp is in the north of town and the blood research center in the south, so I've cycled 10 km. today and it was freezing.
I hope they find something in the blood tests. It means I won't have to go to hospital for, well, worse tests. Don't try to imagine what tests they'll do for bowel and stomach problems. It won't be pleasant.
Then my friend texted me asking how things went and he hoped that the doctors would go to the bottom of it to find out what was wrong with me. The irony of that remark never occured to him so it made me laugh.
