Witch Hunt: The NCIS Haloween Forum Mafia Thread

Re: Witch Hunt: The NCIS Haloween Forum Mafia Thread

With that they prepared to seal corax's fate, and corax said: I have one last thing to say: Wow, you guys have a whole little thing going on. But I get it, you need a scum lynched don't you? Well, I told you, I'm not your scum. I'm the wild card. I'm the guy who looks at the reality in front of him and refuses to accept it. Like right now I should be terrified, right? But I'm not. I refuse to accept it, and I've one wild card to play.

Rule #9. Always carry a knife.

corax then proceeded to unbuckle his belt and draw a small knife and cut the rope that was meant to hang him.

The lynch on corax has failed.

Since corax has claimed, I might as well explain why I thought he was pro-town after his lynch.

Googling this part:
"I'm the wild card. I'm the guy who looks at the reality in front of him and refuses to accept it. Like right now I should be terrified, right? But I'm not."
leads to this link, from the NCIS episode Truth or Consequences. That line was spoken by Tony DiNozzo.

AS already stated "Abby' here!

And of course the Mafia Role Blocker role is Charles "Chip" Sterling; and I have no idea who this might be.

Re: Witch Hunt: The NCIS Haloween Forum Mafia Thread

oh - and I'm a VT - excluding the part about "finding" there's a mafia role blocker and it's my assistant turned bad.

DiNozzo also has a knife in his belt. At first I thought of Gibbs when Corax quoted that rule until I saw the episode where DiNozzo unbuckled his belt and drew a small blade to unscrew a set of shackles off the wall (can't recall episode name).

Re: Witch Hunt: The NCIS Haloween Forum Mafia Thread

Some interesting things from the claims already. The rest of the day should be interesting.

I'm Sam Hanna, busdriver. Equal opportunity ooggling I guess.

SamHanna.jpg

I'm not a normal busdriver as I can only target a single person each night. I and that person take a ride in the Challenger and we get switched with each other. I don't have the ability to switch two different players.

I don't much like this version. The freedom to target someone I think is a likely NK target while also targeting someone I think is likely mafia is so much more fun. I thought about using this ability as a sort of bodyguard role and protect power roles but decided against it. The chance of mafia killing me and faking busdriver seemed too great a risk.

N0 - boogyman
N1 - Laarz
N2 - Gullik
N3 - No one. I didn't send it in on time. :(
N4 - Uraj
N5 - flubbucket

Why isn't the first night called N1? This isn't a programming language... Bring back the normal numbering system!

Re: Witch Hunt: The NCIS Haloween Forum Mafia Thread

Train of thought here - please pick it apart at will:

Trent Kort was know too use bombs (tried to kill DiNozzo)
Agent Lee was a mole in NCIS.

Could Kort have contracted/abducted Lee - the mole - to do something (possibly Kill DiNozzo) and it must be accomplished while Trent is still alive? He places the bomb on Lee and sets her loose but she fails to complete her task and with Korts death she goes too.

I don't think there would be a game mechanic that kills a player at a specific day and time; I beleive it would have to be triggered by a game event hence the Kort death triggers Lee's end.

Wasn't Lee a double agent because somebody was keeping her family hostage? Doesn't that seem like a possible notion for some kind of special case recruitment? Maybe it's like a timed flip switch.

In the series, Agent Lee was essentially contracted to go against NCIS. It involved a terrorist kidnapping Lee's adopted sister and ransoming her life for Lee's cooperation. The contracting angle is certainly plausible. However, that brings into play possible recruitment by a neutral party that turns the recruited anti-town. That gets messy real fast.

Well Kort blew up a car not a person. Kinda makes Kort seem more sinister than neutral. However it does sound like a more plausible premise than what I postulated.

The car Kort blew up had one of Le Frog's goons in it. Agent Lee a goon whacked by Kort? I'm not sure if that is better or worse than a neutral recruiter that turns recruits anti-town.

Also, which premise are you referring to?

Ziva David... no special powers aside from being in a mason group and having a minor post restriction.

What was the post restriction? Did we have a game with a fake post restriction at the same time there was an undetected post restriction? No highlander post restrictions after all!

I've been searching for La Grenouille

Any word about Trent Kort?

DiNozzo also has a knife in his belt. At first I thought of Gibbs when Corax quoted that rule until I saw the episode where DiNozzo unbuckled his belt and drew a small blade to unscrew a set of shackles off the wall (can't recall episode name).

Tony had a couple episodes involving rule #9. Gibbs and Caitlin were other possibilities. Either way, I consider corax mod confirmed townie by the lynch story. I consider Flip/Abby in the same manor.

Re: Witch Hunt: The NCIS Haloween Forum Mafia Thread

I've been searching for La Grenouille AKA Rene Benoit

Have you considered the possibility that Noammr was La Grenouille, and there is nothing left to find? I can't remember Gwaihir ever saying who Noammr was, only that they were partners. NCIS lore would suggest La Grenouille and Kort being partners, and them being neutral would make perfect sense.

Why isn't the first night called N1? This isn't a programming language... Bring back the normal numbering system!

For me the normal numbering is starting from night zero. It is what I'm used to seeing on mafiascum.net, and like to use myself. It has clear logical reasons for being more popular too: that way the night following day one is always night one, regardless of whether the game starts with a night or day phase, and starting from night zero is unambiguous.

I would not mind either way of numbering, as long as it's consistent. When I was writing my summary, I noticed that Gorny had accidentally changed his numbering scheme halfway through.

Since you didn't use it as a bodyguard ability, what was your targeting criteria?

Any word about Trent Kort?

Nothing about Trent Kort was mentioned.

The body of Noammr was found on a roof across the street from a townhouse that had been set on fire during the night, he was killed by a single gunshot wound to the middle of the forehead. It is noted that on the roof beside Noammr was a small telescope that was pointed at the townhouse, a pair of binoculars and a note pad with a list of names on it and a few of them checked off and the rest of them having a question mark after them. Each name had an address, and the current address he was watching when he was shot was the one that was set on fire.

Noammr has been killed.

Have you considered the possibility that Noammr was La Grenouille, and there is nothing left to find? I can't remember Gwaihir ever saying who Noammr was, only that they were partners. NCIS lore would suggest La Grenouille and Kort being partners, and them being neutral would make perfect sense.

It's certainly a possibility but I'm not sure I see La Grenouille as an investigator. Another CIA agent seems a better fit to me.

I am Eli David, a less than attractive old man.

I am the pro-town roleblocker

I have wanted to roleclaim earlier, but have been afraid due to Flip's statement. I do still believe his statement about a mafia roleblocker to be true, due to my roleblock targets and info.

N0: Caluin, Just random, although I was very disturbed by the first day's story. I thought there might be something I didn't know about my roll. The following nights dispelled any of those thoughts.

N1: Zemaj, Scum post D1 waranted a roleblock

N2: Boogy, His self voting made me think that he was up to something

N3: Caluin, I was convinced that he was the SK due to the D3 talk. I don't think this anymore, it was a really stupid choice in hindsight.

N4: Asrrin, Nothing to put my finger on, but thought he could be scum.

N5: Gullik, Way too quiet, like a hitman would want to be.

I don't have any conclusive evidence that I have stopped a kill, but feel free to analyze the data and see what comes out of it. I have an additional ability, but I am holding on to it for now.

Re: Witch Hunt: The NCIS Haloween Forum Mafia Thread

I find Gullik's post interesting only to the point of it's brevity. His voting of zemaj on day one could easily have been scum quietly hoppin' on the train to avoid detection.

Goryani's post is another matter entirely. This is quite well thought out. So many details covered. Clever diversion and turn of phrase. Look there ---> and look here <----. Quite magical. And all the questions of others to make sure to emphasize, "You betcha I'm town!"

Excellent work!

Sathoris.....where are you???

Could you double check your list and confirm that it's accurate?

Re: Witch Hunt: The NCIS Haloween Forum Mafia Thread

Hey guys. Been visiting a friend, so haven't had much time to post, but tried keeping up to date with new posts (not that difficult).

I'm Ducky, pro-town, and I'm a bit surprised some people still thought I have an investigative ability after Drixx killed himself. As some have probably guessed, I'm a doc. I can't recall all my saves off the top of my head, and typing from my phone now, but will check when I get back home. I'll also explain my choices then.

N0: protected Feysal
N1: Ankeli I think.
N2: Drixx I think. Pretty sure this was the night after he claimed his role.

Can't recall the rest, but pretty sure one of the nights I protected Sathoris after his. Claim. Also one night where I didn't get on in time to use my a ability.

Re: Witch Hunt: The NCIS Haloween Forum Mafia Thread

Of the claims we've had so far I don't feel great with Kestegs, Goryanis and Gullik. Feysal's seems weird and I don't really know what to think about it.

Goryani has been on my potential mafia list for some time now and seeing as I have to leave again and won't be back he'll get my vote. Can't recall much actuall scumhunting from him and more vague lurking suspicious behaviour. (Just going of memory here, could be wrong. But it's just the vibe I got of him throughout the game)

Vote: Goryani

Kestegs as blocker feels really weird since we know we have a scum roleblocker. Anyways just my thoughts.

Re: Witch Hunt: The NCIS Haloween Forum Mafia Thread

I'm having some difficulty with all the raging ambivalence. I could get on board with a Goryani lynch, but it is challenging since we've not heard a peep from Leopold Stotch and Valhauros.

...and again I'm triple posting.
