Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Does ATMA have any way to move a group of items instead of dragging and dropping each one individually?

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

I could not get stashes to work in GoMule. I just created a new project and now stashes are working.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

By anychance did GoMule recently got an update that supports Classic? o_O

I posted a thread about this and no one seems to be answering on that.
This seems like a better place to post this question.
If any Mod could pull down my thread asking the same question that would be great. =P

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Not that I'm aware of. The only version of GoMule that is 'forum approved' does not support classic, only 1.10+ expansion.

There are several issues with using GoMule with classic some you've posted in your previous soon to be deleted/closed post. There is also GoMule's finickiness about items. Jewels from previous patches for example. I'm sure there may be more items that may cause GoMule to create a disconnected character. As much as I love GoMule over ATMA, ATMA it is a lot more forgiving in which items it will allow. So unless you are okay with possible loss of characters or items I'd use ATMA for anything not 1.10+ expansion.

=S aww... that sucks.
After using GoMule for so long, I just can't seem to handle the fact that to DRAGGGGG the items one by one. this is so frustrating especially when the windows of two chars/stashes overlap and i have to let go of the item, move the window so it would show enough space, then click and drag the item again. haaa...

I've read in the post somwhere GoMule's getting some upgrades in the near future. hopefully soon xD

but yes. Thanks. I guess i'll stick to ATMA. =P

Edit: actually just decided to rather backup each char everytime i check into GoMule. haha. i just can't seem to like click n drag.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

I am going to try to get gomule to work. It would make trading alot easier and I am tired of losing good maps when I mule by way of another computer. Last night I deleted everything from the attempt I made before. So, I will need to download Java and the gomule program to start with. I am using windows 7 home premium. I believe I read somewhere in this thread that it's better to have the diablo game files in a folder all by itself. From previous attempts I know that gomule is in a zip file, what is the best way to extract/unzip the gomule program after I download it?
I am not a computer genious, bit I have never had a problem getting a program to work right until I tried gomule. I have read this whole thread several times and still there was issues. I want to start from the very beginning making sure along the way u am not screwing up something simple. I would really appreciate any help I can get from you guys. I will start a list with this post of what I am doing, and if somebody sees something I am doing wrong, please let me know.
1. Download latest version of java and check to make sure it's downloaded right and is working properly according to the java website.
2. Download gomule program into it's own folder.
3. Move Diablo 2 LOD to a folder of it's own.
4. I need the right program to extract/unzip the gomule program. Would WinRAR work? Or just right click and choose extract?

I just want to get this going and I feel like a moron because I can't.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

3. If you want LOD in a different folder you should probably install it to that folder. Moving programs to a different folder is usually going to cause problems.

4. Win 7 can unzip it. You don't need another program.

If you have difficulty with stashes, try creating a new gomule project (button in lower left of window). If you do that, you will need to select the new project every time you run gomule.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

1. Doesn't necesarily have to be THE latest version, just any recent patches will do.
2. I'm using Window 7 myself - though i don't know exactly what version it is - and i usually keep GoMule folder inside my d2 folder.
So my path looks like this. (i have my games/movies/etc in D: instead of C: )
D:\Diablo2\GoMule.
Then again, it doesn't matter where your GoMule is, as long as you keep it at avalid path.
3. Like OsyncO mentioned, instead of copying and pasting LoD into a different folder, just install to a different path. copying and pasting is fine, but you have to make sure no files are corrupted - which is hard to tell until something goes wrong - and change the path for GoMule to fit your new D2 folder. So in the end, just reinstalling to a new path is simpler.
4. Window7 can unzip it w/ or w/o another program.

What, exactly, do you have problem with in GoMule??

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Copy-Pasting an installed program to a different location usually causes it not to run properly or at all (Unless you change the required registry files, but unless you're a hardcore computer nerd, I can't recommend this).

If you want it in a different location, do as previously mentioned and install it there.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Having trouble with modified d2gfx.dll. Tried running two instances and it works for about 5 minutes and then it shuts down my compy!? Anyone else running into this problem? (running 1.13c btw)

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Sounds like an over heat problem, either the cpu or graphics, or video card driver problems, if 'compy' means computer.

What are the specs of your computer and OS? Are you receiving any blue screens or error messages? Are you experiencing any other random restarts or a very slow computer? Have you tried the glide wrapper? Did you get the right d2gfx for 1.13c?

Can anyone help me with this problem?
I created a new stash in GoMule, and opened up other stashes to put those items into the new one, and when I went to save, I got this error:

Any help? I've used GoMule before, so this seems like a strange error since I've not gotten them before. Thanks in advance!

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Can anyone help me with this problem?

Sorry jrlafrance, I'm not that great with java errors and was hoping someone who was would have helped by now.

After looking at it more carefully it appears that GoMule could not create a backup since the stashes are inside the ATMA folder. Windows 7 is probably not allowing GoMule to write to the ATMA folder because it is in the 'Program Files' folder. You can fix this by moving the ATMA folder outside the 'Program Files' folder.

Hope this helps. Where are the new stashes you are creating inside of GoMule? Hopefully outside of the 'Program Files' folder.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Can I just leave D2 installed where it is now, in the program files? I installed Gomule. I extracted the gomule folder and that went OK. Once I open the gomule folder, which has d2111, dupelists, resources, COPYING, GoMule, etc. The GoMule folder has a little Java symbol beside it and it says JAR file, not executable JAR file. When I try to open the GoMule, it gives me the option to choose what program to open it with. I choose Java, and Java wants to reinstall itself, it does this everytime. I do not understand this. On my other computer, I got further along than this with the program. Instead of just labeling it a JAR file, it has executable JAR file and it will at least open up, with a little trying after several strange pop ups with a bunch of lines of text.

Running Windows Vista(sp2) 64-bit on a Dell laptop.
intel core duo cpu p7350 @ 2.00ghz
6 gb ram

I'm not experiencing any other 'random restarts' or a very slow computer.

here's the link I used for the modified d2gfx.dll:

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

That is the correct place to get it. I'm going to list the steps to install the dll just so we can be sure that it was installed properly.

1) Download 1.13cD2gfx.dll
2) Make a copy of the original D2gfx.dll that is in your D2 folder (backup purposes)
3) Rename 1.13cD2gfx.dll to D2gfx.dll
4) Copy the renamed D2gfx.dll into the D2 folder. When it asks if you want to replace it click yes

You may have to run the game from the Game.exe instead of Diablo II.exe in order for this to work. I've heard from some this is required. My play is sporadic so I do not remember if I did this or not.

Also DO NOT use this on b.net, they can and will ban you is the consensus.

Yeah, I did all that. I'll try it again tho just to be sure.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Before I start this post, I want you all to know this is not meant for trolling or arguments. This post is simply to answer a basic question.

I have read a lot about duplication on ATMA, and I know it is cheating (obviously), and unfair. I also know that it defeats the joy of finding rare items.

I have read people constantly say yes you can duplicate, but its not worth the risks!

What are the risks? Lets say you play single player only, can doing this destroy your characters?

I know one time in an open multiplayer game i picked up a weird looking unique item that i had never heard of and it made my character crash and unplayable. Would duplicating cause a similar effect?

Thanks for your help everybody!
