Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

@Las: If your shortcut is working correctly, there should be a bunch of .bin files in Runewords\data\global\excel. And screenshots taken using your shortcut should end up in Runewords, instead of your main D2 dir. Could you check if both apply to you?

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Hello!

Long-time lurker, first-time poster here, checking in with what is very probably a stupid question. I've recently reinstalled Diablo 2 (getting the itch waiting for Diablo 3 like everyone else, no doubt), and I note that the program I used to use years ago for extended storage isn't approved for use in conjunction with this forum. While I don't have any burning desire to set myself up as a trader, I *would* like to have that avenue open, so I've downloaded the Runeword Mod and GoMule and am trying to acquaint myself with them. (And no, there is no trace on this system of any non-forum approved mods! All that would have disappeared with my old hard drive anyway, but I digress.)

My question is this: I've been trying to offload things to a GoMule stash, and while I *think* they're getting stored, they certainly are not disappearing off my character. Do I need to have saved and exited before transferring in GoMule, or can I offload while still playing? While right now my biggest finds are chipped gems and the like, I'd rather make sure that I'm doing it right before I find some unique or set piece that my packrat self wants to hold on to. My GoMule stash is listing the chippies I (think that I) stored there, but my baby Fishymancer is still holding them as well. Am I safe to just drop the transfered gems somewhere and let them evaporate when I quit out?

Again, I apologize for the inherent noob-ness of the questions. I read through the GoMule guide a couple times and didn't see an apparent answer; goodness knows I'm probably missing something easy though.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Welcome to the forums.

You need to exit the game before transferring anything with GoMule (no need to completely exit D2; you can still be on the menu screens) or else you will end up with duplicates as you have discovered.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Alright. Thanks for the quick answer. :) I'd just been planting chipped gem trees off beside a waypoint I'd already passed and thus would have no reason to visit other than to drop off potentially duplicated items. I don't play on the B.net realms mostly because I don't want any part of duping--I was a bit wary when I discovered I could in theory do it myself. :P I'll just quit back to the menu screen before moving stuff around then. Many thanks!

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Hi all, I'm having problems with D2 :(

Computer with Win7 64 bits and using Trenshadow.

Followed the instructions from the guide, just like before in win xp and ISO is mounted in MagicISO and compability like this in every game.exe (C:\Games\Diablo II, C:\Games\Diablo II\1.07, ...1.08, ...1.10s and even ...1.13c). In every shortcut "-noprompt -direct -txt -w".

1.13c works
1.10s doesn't launch and says nothing
In 1.07 and 1.08 it pops a window saying Diablo II has stopped working and gives these details:
Code:
Problem signature:
  Problem Event Name:	BEX
  Application Name:	Game.exe
  Application Version:	1.0.7.0
  Application Timestamp:	3af87a29
  Fault Module Name:	StackHash_e98d
  Fault Module Version:	0.0.0.0
  Fault Module Timestamp:	00000000
  Exception Offset:	79263d67
  Exception Code:	c0000005
  Exception Data:	00000008
  OS Version:	6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.48
  Locale ID:	2070
  Additional Information 1:	e98d
  Additional Information 2:	e98dfca8bcf81bc1740adb135579ad53
  Additional Information 3:	6eab
  Additional Information 4:	6eabdd9e0dc94904be3b39a1c0583635

What could it be?

EDIT: tried with game CD and works... I guess Magic ISO sucks? I'll make more tests and let you know. :)

EDIT2: the name was MagicDisc. ANd does it indeed suck. From what I was able to read, it doesn't work with a lot more people. And it also is a pain in the *** to uninstall. NEVER TRY MAGICDISC. Now everything working so far using Daemon Tools. :D

EDIT3: Wuuuut? I can't say ***?

Sorry I could have sworn that it was the other way. After double checking you are right. I have not had to install D2 or the RWM in a long time; I just copy over my D2 folder from my back-up.

Now I'm further confused as to your problem; the install everything seems to be 100% correct. Could you post an image of your folder structure and your shortcut? Did you get the other runeword to work? Inside the folders some text files should have been created, were they? Try making a short-cut to Game.exe instead. I'm grasping at straws now, sorry hopefully someone else can spot a problem.

Hello again, the mystery has been solved. As in most cases the source of the problem is human error and this time it was no different. I've been able to make EDGE and DRAGON runewords without any issues, so I believe the item I've chosen for infinity (battle scythe) was actually magical. Frankly I have no other explanation.

Anyway I wanted to say, that I appreciate all the help I've been given. Best wishes to You guys and good luck.

Gomule

Now i'm having problems with Gomule.

It's an existing install, been using it for years no problem. last time I used it was last week sometime. I think the last windoze auto update early this week has updated something and taken out gomule.

Whenever I click on the gomule.jar shortcut that I've always used with assoc with d2, I get an "this is not an win32 app" then prompts for an app to open it with. I've tried re installing gomule and clicking on the gomule.jar file within the target folder, no luck. I haven't rolled back the system atm and afaik, my java is up to date.

OS = Win xp sp3 32 bit home.

Anybody got any ideas?

To make sure java is working, run "java -version" at the java bin directory.
To make sure the gomule.jar file is not corrupted, run "javaw.exe -jar /path/to/GoMule.jar".

If the above two commands work, then you probably need to fix jar file associations. Try Jarfix.

I get a "windows cannot find" error message if I try to run "java -version" at the bin location. Command I ran was "H: \program files\java\jre6\bin\java -version". My hard drive is h:

I have three folders in my /program files/java folder. "jre1.5.0_3", jre1.5.0_11" & "jre6".

The corrupt check didn't work, so I think I'm tieing the two command strings together wrong. path for the jar file is "H: \diablo2 stuff\gomule\GoMule\GoMule.jar"

I deleted my original install zip and re downloaded a fresh copy and installed from that.

Now I get this;

I think my java is corrupted, but don't know where to go from here. What other apps am I likely to have to uses java?

Edit: Oh, another thing I did recently I just remembered, I did a clean on my temp internet files but retained history and cookies. Would that screw with java/gomule?

"java -version" should always work. If it doesn't, you either got the path wrong or your Java is broken. Assuming you double-checked the path, your best bet is to remove Java (preferably every version you have, just to be sure) and reinstall it.

If you really want to make sure that it's not your copy of GoMule, head over to its sourceforge files page (http://sourceforge.net/projects/gomule/files/gomule/R0.31/) and click on the "i" icon next to the download. Two hashes should appear (SHA1 and MD5) which can be used to verify the integrity of your download (google should be able to help if you're unfamiliar with this process).

Temporary internet files shouldn't interfere with a correct Java installation. But if you're install was wonky to begin with, who knows...

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Here is how to run the two test command using your java path:
Run cmd.exe
Code:
H:
cd "H:\program files\java\jre6\bin"
java -version

javaw -jar "H:\diablo2 stuff\gomule\GoMule\GoMule.jar"

Note that there is no space after "H:" and it's best to quote file name with spaces.

If java -version still doesn't work, you need to reinstall JRE.

Since you have a java backtrace in the screenshot, I assume java is working. Try the javaw command in jre6's bin dir.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Code:
javaw -jar "H:\diablo2 stuff\gomule\GoMule\GoMule.jar"
This won't work because GoMule looks in the current directory for its auxilliary files (text files, image resources, etc.). You'd need to cd into the GoMule location first and then use javaw (with a full path if its location is not in the PATH environment variable).

But for someone not comfortable with this, uninstall and reinstall of the JRE is the easiest.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Already, i'm confused now on what's happing so let's see if anyone here can give me an answer.

I've got a new pc with windows7 on it. Didn't get D2 running at first. After moving the install from the place where it automaticly installs to a different folder it worked. Patched up to 1.13c. Now working and no disc needed anymore. Installed RWM and suddenly it won't play anymore without me using the expansiondisc. If i use the disc it does play.

Haven't checked if the RWM is active (have yet to move my atmastashes), but i've installed it before and the instructions are quite clear so i don't expect any trouble in that department.

So does anybody have an idea what's going on here. And more importantly on how i can get it to run without inserting the expansiondisc each time i want to play.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

But for someone not comfortable with this, uninstall and reinstall of the JRE is the easiest.

Hmmm, yeah, good idea. Killed all three java installs in my control panel and made sure all folders where gone from my program files/java folder. Download and install latest java, looking good.

Thanks for the help everybody!

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Guys, I am new to this gomule program. Accidently did a flavie report on gomule and now all my stashes says disconnected with my items gone, can someone please help me to find some way to get this back to the way this was before. Thanks!

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Bloodguru, that' scaring. Creating flavie report should not modify your stash.

The first thing I would try is to backup (copy & paste) the whole gomule dir and d2 save dir. Close gomule and re-try it.
If it still says disconnected, recover (by renaming) the most recent backup files.

By the way, are you using 1.13c and latest GoMule?

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Bloodguru, that happened to me the other day. What I did was that I went to Project -> Preferences, and then in there make sure that you check All (SC+HC+Unknown). I think it says disconnected because it doesn't know how to interpret the stash. Normally you would select the preference from the beginning so that GoMule can organize it in that fashion.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Ahh ok, I was messing around in there when I did it and I think I changed the setting to Softcore(SC) Only and then at the bottom of the stashes I clicked Proj Flavie Report and all my items disappeared with the disconnection status...hmmm lol, ty for the clarification. The tool itself is awesome, I just need to learn how to use it.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

OFT: Haha no problem Bloodguru :). I'm happy it's now fixed.

OT: Does anyone know how I can see the Map Seed without using ATMA? I tried to use GoMule but I can't find any place inside of GoMule that shows the map seed.
