Ravenwood Retreat Mafia Game.

Re: Ravenwood Retreat Mafia Game.

Alarm bell rang with this jumping to the defence of Gorny. Day 1 votes from Townies are always flimsy

Hey, I hold no love for gorny, and if we really want to start a lynch train on him, he's as good a target as any. I just think it's awfully suspicious for Sathoris to have such a strong conviction over something gorny does literally every game. But I'm just not feeling a scummy vibe from gorny.

Day one votes aren't always flimsy, especially when scum slip up like Noodle did last game.

Re: Ravenwood Retreat Mafia Game.

as im re-reading this, here's something that caught my eye and i just want to talk about it before i go too OT...

Unless we are playing a cult only game (heaven help us!!!) we can probably look forward to night kills. So I'm enjoying the peaceful retreat while it lasts.

if there was a cult, who would they resemble (crazy Satanist tourist or something?) and how would it fit in this game? im only on page four, but so far you're the only one who has mentioned briefly a cult. i don't find this suspicious, but im just curious how would this play out to you?

With 19 people, I would expect at least 3 factions. I'm really surprised that not a single thing happened. At least not a single fatal thing.

we have no idea what happened last night. and if there ARE three factions and if Uraj IS doing a vanilla-ish game and has a SK (there is room for one), the SK could probably not kill last night for balance purposes. and if we touch base with Asrrin's guess about a cult, they may have recruited. if there is a mafia team, there are many scenarios that could've happened there, including something on the Host's end where he gave all of us a free pass and we could all chime in on the first day.

Re: Ravenwood Retreat Mafia Game.

The idea behind looking at profiles was to see who hasn't logged on up to that point. I understand it's tasteless and probably won't give us substantial evidence, but think about it. if the mafia DID forget to submit an nk, they most likely forgot to log on.

and for those of you assuming i took a look at profiles this game phase, i assure you i havent. If you need some proof I invite all of you to check your own profiles. the new guy especially will find my name missing, seeing as how I've NEVER been to his profile. Yet he votes for me assuming i did just that as a mafia member.

Re: Ravenwood Retreat Mafia Game.

Besides, do you really think I would be dumb enough to explain my own intentions if I was part of the mafia?

Re: Ravenwood Retreat Mafia Game.

*dun dun duh...* Recruitment?

second cult-related thing. not finding it suspicious yet, but do you feel there is a cult or no?

Technomancer #32 is a little too casual. Nervous scum worried about his NK failing perhaps.

Marahumm seems a bit too eager to check online statuses of players, but if he's scum and interested in possible PRs he could just check for himself and not mention anything to us.
But then again Noodle did something similar last game with Ankeli so Marahumm might have just slipped and not thought of checking himself.

Gorny is doing his best to be active but not mention anything game related. Same as last game. Sure you have on opinion about something, eh?

Unvote: Ankeli
Vote: Gorny

I like this post a lot and it also gels with my own initial read of Gorny - which I won't publicise so early in the game.

so you have thoughts on Gorny, but...

Asrrin said:
Seriously? Every game I've ever played with Gorny, and he's done this regardless of whether he is town or anti-town. To vote someone on such a flimsy read... Are you just trying to get rid of strong players? sounds scummy to me.

Unvote: Zarniwoop
Vote: Sathoris

Alarm bell rang with this jumping to the defence of Gorny. Day 1 votes from Townies are always flimsy!

you suspect Asrrin for voting Sathoris because Sath voted for Gorny and Asrrin called him out on it and then you agree with Sath's guess about a Techno, Gorny, and Asrrin team being "solid" :

I don't dislike this proposition - for a Day 1, this looks relatively solid.

I was going to leave my random vote in place until something better came along - which it has.

Unvote: Technomancer
Vote: Gorny

Let's get some traction on the day.

you go along with Sath and vote for Gorny becuase he's being as usual as always? as a veteran yourself, you should know this is normal behavior. you too, Sath, but you already said you were trying to get a reaction... are you following orders, Loz, or is this just coincidence? ;P

It's fun and I'm eating all kinds of fun food now! :jig:

But stay out of the garage, Leo. Big Red, she gets nervous. :)

Disclaimerâ„¢: Seriously ... :)

haha, i didn't even see this. i won't make her nervous. im very gentle. ^_^

Re: Ravenwood Retreat Mafia Game.

You guys seem to know the personalities of everyone, their habits, traits, etc. Pretty overwhelming for a newcomer to catch up! Of course it can always work against you if they bluff or double bluff...

Mafia, on the other hand, just get a better picture of who the priority targets are. They lose nothing by NKing someone they suspect of being a power role, since they had no information to go on in the first place. Digging into profiles only increases their odds of hitting someone important. No downsides, that I can see.

Of everything said so far, this stands out the most to me. However, wouldn't a power role benefit from this also? And we are talking about generally site activity right? Because, I mean...I'm on the trade forum 24/7 >_>

Noob question (sorry): With I'll first unvote, we're supposed to unvote someone random? Because I didn't see any votes made prior to some of the unvotes.

Re: Ravenwood Retreat Mafia Game.

Darn, I'm so used to not uneditting out spelling mistakes...I think that's how I'm gonna die, being mod killed for editting:l

Re: Ravenwood Retreat Mafia Game.

Besides, do you really think I would be dumb enough to explain my own intentions if I was part of the mafia?

Noodle slipped up like that in the last game. Besides it isn't more stupid than bringing up the idea and not acting on it long enough to render it useless.

The idea behind looking at profiles was to see who hasn't logged on up to that point. I understand it's tasteless and probably won't give us substantial evidence, but think about it. if the mafia DID forget to submit an nk, they most likely forgot to log on.

But did you really think it was a good idea? Say you found five people who hadn't logged in since the night started. You'd willing to say four, if not all, people were mafia who didn't log in after they already read their PM saying that they're mafia?

And who knows, maybe the mafia uses a QT to send in their kills and you know that so you're looking for an easy mislynch on D1.

Thing is you can twist your intention anyway so don't take offence at it.

You too, Sath, but you already said you were trying to get a reaction...

Gorny plays somewhat like this as town. He does give game related input when he's town. When he's scum he plays the same way, only with no useful input. Untill some useful input comes I see him the way I saw him last game. Full of nothing and casualness. His posts directed at me add to that.

Call it a policy lynch if you wish.

Darn, I'm so used to not uneditting out spelling mistakes...I think that's how I'm gonna die, being mod killed for editting:l

Check on page 1. There's a votecount with randomized votes on everyone.
Because I'm sure if only one mafia was online he'd send in the kill. The odds of finding all the mafia offline is a lot smaller than a doc save/roleblock.

so you have thoughts on Gorny, but...

Yes, based upon an observation I made.

you suspect Asrrin for voting Sathoris because Sath voted for Gorny and Asrrin called him out on it and then you agree with Sath's guess about a Techno, Gorny, and Asrrin team being "solid" :

"So solid"? That is putting words in my mouth. I said:
... for a Day 1, this looks relatively solid.
Note the qualification, relatively.

I suspect Asrrin for voting Sathoris because Sath voted for Gorny and I already had reasons for being mildly suspicious of Gorny.

As for Technomancer, remember that I said:
Technomancer - hmmm ... we'll see perhaps.

I "go along with Sath" for reasons stated above. Gorny's "normal behaviour" is no reason for suspecting him - or exonerating him, for that matter.

haha, i didn't even see this. i won't make her nervous. im very gentle. ^_^

See that you don't, and see that you are :)

hmm, okay. i still kinda find you two suspicious atm, but i have nothing else to go on.

nervous? me? hahaha! she will love m! i'll treat her as my lover, my best friend, my companion. ;)

It's stuff like this. Of all the things to respond to he chooses something that isn't related to scumhunting or defending part of the game.

he won't defend himself he feels he has to. and right now, he's probably just thinking this is piddly shtuff.

*shrug*

He doesn't need to defend himself. In fact he can't defend himself against a policy lynch, but playing the game like a townie. Expressing feelings and suspicions is his defence. Right now he's not done anything. A player who plays the game thinking of what to defend himself to isn't playing for the townside.

Got me thinking, where you at Val?

Yeah, but you never know what I'm silently taking note of and saving for later reference.

It's day one after all.

....if you really want to get technical, everyone is scum until otherwise proven.

So Sathy...what have ya got in your wallet??

Re: Ravenwood Retreat Mafia Game.

Yeash but you can be evil sexy.

Eveil being Mafia.

Ok Sath, I'll toss you a key: I don't have the ability to investigate.
