Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Helvete the version of ATMA in the first post is my own installation. I haven't seen any reports of anyone else with the same problem so I'm betting the stashes must be on your computer if not that directory. :)

Have you used the windows search function to locate the stashes?

If the directory doesn't exist, wouldn't your computer make that directory?
EDIT:
Check for
ATMA_stashview.cfg
ATMA_charview.cfc
ATMA_itemview.cfg

I do not have vista, I have win7, and I do not have d2 installed at the moment, but are you under the shortcut tab?

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Maybe this is the wrong place to ask, but:

I was playing around with GoMules DropCalc, and since I need a Harlequins Crest for continued mf i put that in. For 7 players, 300 mf and Bosses it says Hell Griswold in Tristram have ~0.011 chance of dropping this (1:91). Can this be true?? I mean, thats more than 4.5 as probable of dropping this as hell meph... 91 tristram runs = easy and safe for a untwinked sorc.

I do not have goMule installed as was mentioned above, but I get different numbers while using silospen's online calculator, same guy who runs goMule
http://dropcalc.silospen.com/item.php

With 300 MF, /players 7, I get
Mephisto @ 0.002446658455851
Griswold @ 0.000057651474574

With 300 MF, /players 1 I get
Mephisto @ 0.001930174847441
Griswold @ 0.000057651474574

I'm not sure which one is correct goMule or the online calculator as drop calculations are not an exact science, especially when it comes to comparisons of chances. It is more accuarate to say that they can drop a certain item than they will drop after a certain amount of time. Notice that Griswold's numbers stayed the same from different players settings in the online calculator. I wonder if Griswold is treated as a Super Unique in that his drops are predetermined and not effected by number of players in a game. Does anyone know which is more accurate or is there, as I suspect, a different tiny flaw in each calculator.

Hope this helps and sorry Thy if this question should have been left unanswered and/or moved.

Those files are stored in the ATMA directory. Apparently, win7 doesn't allow programs to make directories freely in certain places, because I can find no such folder.

Luckily, it's a fresh install of D2, and I hadn't found much (nor extracted my 1.12 saves) so all that was lost was a few low runes and some pgems.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

OK So I've installed D2LOD with current patch, RWM and ATMA on my new laptop. It's running Windows 7.

Took be a bit to find the fix for running D2 in Windows 7 but I made the adjustments suggested on the Bnet Forums (Change compatibility mode to Windows XP & Disable Desktop Composition). I played for a bit last night. Saved out of D2. Then muled gems and runes off with ATMA. Everything seemed fine.

But I come back tonight and my character is exactly where I started after the install. Levels, WPs and quests are gone. But when I open ATMA I have the character from last night. I check the root folder and its showing up as the same file. I Copy and paste the file from ATMA and it says last modified preinstall (although when looking from ATMA its last modified at the end of the session). Strangely when i look at the file from ATMA there is a little lock on the file icon.

So tonight I try modifying the character and saving it. Move gold around and save its fine. Play to the next WP and save. Progress is saved. But if I open the character in ATMA, I get the same file as the end of the session last night.

Seems like there is something strange happen with ATMA that wiped my progress last night, but it also seems to be preventing itself from accessing the newest version of the file.

Any ideas what's going on?

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

@Ladvarian: ok, thank you, i thought it was strange. Played around a bit more with the DropCalc this evening and found that no matter how much MF i entered, Griswold always had a 0.011 chance of dropping Shako. Hmm...

Ah, windows 7 strikes again. Your save files are not in your d2 directory or ATMA, but in a hidden folder here:
C: \Users\User_Name\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Diablo II\save
C: \Users\User_Name\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\ATMA

Substitute your user name for User_Name. Not sure about the exact path for ATMA as I no longer play Diablo II right now, but it should be in the same folder. Short answer to why this happens is given above by helvete. If you want a more precise answer I will give it upon request.

I was given sound advice on how to avoid all this. Uninstall ATMA and Diablo II and reinstall them to another place other than your 'programs files' folder. This will enable you to read and write to them with no problems. Install to say C: \Games or something like that.

@Ladvarian: ok, thank you, i thought it was strange. Played around a bit more with the DropCalc this evening and found that no matter how much MF i entered, Griswold always had a 0.011 chance of dropping Shako. Hmm...

The drop percentage should change no matter what when you add or subtract MF, but when you adjust the number of players certain types of monsters will not increase or decrease their odds no matter how many players there are.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Hey guys, if I use RWM to get bnet only runewords working on my character/merc, will they work if I LAN (TCP/IP) with other players who do not use RWM??

The RWM only enables the creation of the runewords. Once the Runewords are created they will function normally in any mode even vanilla games. I was almost positive, but decided to make sure so I did a search. It was not easy to find, but here it is confirmation.

The "Rune Word Mod" only enables the creation of the ladder only Rune Words. Afterwards they will work perfectly even in unmodded(vanilla) games. No poofing, no turning into "Ith":s or anything.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Thanks for the help Ladvarian. I had read about ATMA needing to be outside of program files, but forgot that it would be accessing the .d2s from the D2 folder which I put in program files. I'll try moving things around and seeing if that fixes.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Hi guys,
I've a little problem with RWM mod. A little premise:

OS: Windows 98 SE
Diablo 2 version: 1.13c

So, i think I did everythink right: downloaded the zip, extracted it, copied the runewords folder into d2 install directory, made the new shortcut with the instructions written in the readme files, but I can't make bnet runewords.
I just tried insight, and now i've a 4sock volgue with ral tir tal sol runes in it ( and that's quite boring, since i just restarted playing and i'm quite poor ==> that runes and volgue was really womething tome sigh :) ).
Any help? OS may be a problem? I shold have installed some dll or something else apart from the mod?

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

blackauron - please post a screenshot of your directory listing and your shortcut. You can host stuff on Imageshack.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

I am having the weirdest issue here.
Not sure this is related to GoMule but I'll let you decide.

I never died on my Hammerdin, I simply [out of boredom] used him to read gossips from act 3 NPC's. After that, I went to open him on GoMule and it would just show the waiting cursor then nothing would happen. So I try to get on him In-Game and it says "Unable to enter game, bad dead bodies" WTF?

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Okay, this evidently IS a GoMule issue.

I remember now that I xfered some gfg boots [MFed on my barb] to my hammerdin before I got on him. [They were 30%Frw +38 Mana 37% Fr 22% Cr]

I went to reopen him on GoMule and it wouldn't load.
So I got on D2 to get on him and got the "Bad dead bodies" error.

I then used [Prohibited 3rd party program] to try and open him and it said "Trying to process Chain Boots, unknown format, this item will be deleted from your inventory". So it opened my Hdin, and my boots were gone, I almost cried [gfg boots :'(] lol.

I figured it was maybe just a weird bug on the boots.

Later on I tried to xfer an Fcr ring to him. Same exact problem.
I then xferred some Treads of Cthon to him. Same exact problem.

Why are all the items I'm xferring to my Hdin on GoMule going "bad"?

What version are you running and are all your items from that version or are some from previous versions. GoMule does not like 1.09 and before items and characters.

Are you sure you are transfering the items to the right tab? Are you trying to transfer items to a dead body instead of your character?

Are you trying to transfer items to a character that is a different version. Say a 1.10 item to a 1.13c character or the other way around? You need to transfer to a 1.10 character and open that character in diablo, 1.13c, to be able to properly update the item. An item also cannot be moved back into a previous patch no matter how much you'd like.

Lastly was it you or Thy that edited out the name of the program? I know that normally a mod, such as Thy, will edit your post, but it usually says so at the bottom unless you've already spoken to her. I'm not asking for the name of the program. I'm just checking if I can help you or if you are using a program that is not supported by these forums and thus I cannot help you.

Good luck on finding your problem if I cannot help because of the above condition.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

All of my chars are 1.13. I MFed some godly chain boots from Hell Andy ON 1.13 on my barb. When I went to xfer them to my Pali, I had this problem. Now I have this problem when I xfer ANYTHING to that char.

All chars are SC Non-Expansion.

As for the program. I edited it myself. Yes it is a program which this site isn't too fond of. However, rest assured, none of my "NON-TEST" SP chars have come in contact with it, ever. I use it to test builds and only that. To build a char on the realms it can take days or even weeks, so it's good to know if your build is going to work, right? That's what I use it for, to test builds, nothing more.

I know the following

1. My Hammerdin is bugged somehow.
2. It has something to do with GoMule [Since the items are fine so long as I don't xfer them to my Hdin.]
3. It has NOTHING to do with any other 3rd Party Program I may or may not be using.

So spare me the "You use this program, I can't help you" horse-crap. I'm tired of it.

Now does SOMEONE know what is going on?

[highlight]Grossly inappropriate language which won't be tolerated further. Thyiad[/highlight]

I believe I may have found the problem. As far as I know GoMule does not support, ie work well with, non expansion. The posts below sound very similar to the error you are getting. As you read that post know that I am not accusing you of hacking. Those were the responses he got when he did a google search, not a search on these forums, for the reason why he got the error. He was not hacking or using hacked items and I do not believe you were/are either. I believe it is because GoMule just does not like classic I'm afraid. Try ATMA sorry. Thyiad would you mind adding that to the sticky for facts about GoMule if silopspen has not updated GoMule recently to work with classic. Sorry Blockinlick, I believe it was over looked when we created the new sticky.

A recent post I've found of the writer of GoMule, silospen, only brings bad news I'm afraid. The post was made on October of last year, but Silosphen has been MIA since he got married I believe.

Heya.

I recently started playing diablo II again(classic for the time being - no LoD disc) and this time around I'm using a mac. . .which unfortunately (and much to my chagrin) means that in order to mule I must resort to gomule. I downloaded said program last night and proceeded to transfer a number of good quality gems and some fcr rings to a fledgling sorc of mine. (going for f-orb!) When I attempted to load the game I was confronted with a strange error message 'Bad Dead Bodies' My other char loaded fine. . albeit with less by way of loot. I think it may have somthing to do with the fact that I did not transfer anything from the sorc to the pally. . . anyways, I've googled the error and it seems it has something to do with hacked items. I found this puzzling and kinda disturbing. I was muling and have no intention of wrecking the fun of the game via hacking let alone the ability.

Is there any solution to this problem/error message -- or should I just bite the bullet and make a new sorceress? hmm also gomule refuses to open up her file.
thanks for the help.

For which silospen replied
GoMule doesn't work with classic characters, so that explains that.

P.S. @Blockinlick I must apologize if it offended for me asking about the possibility of the hacked items and or characters, but I was unsure if it was another program that was causing your problem. Your previous posts were left open to speculation as far as I knew. Once you explained that it was not I believe you. I will stop asking you about the possibility of a hacked program. Again I apologize for offending you in my asking for clarification. If you need anymore help I will be here watching the forums for people that need help.

Sry If I came off hasty, but this sites ignorant zero tolerance towards a quite useful program vexes me.

I use it for a very legit purpose, yet the mods on this site seem to think anyone that uses it is Satan. Or at least it seems that way lol.

If I hadn't run that program on my Hdin, I would have never figured out what was going on, I was this || close to deleting my Hdin before I did it.
So give [Program evidently invented by Satan] a friggin break plz!
