The Vanilla (Ice) mafia round -Sign ups-

Re: The Vanilla (Ice) mafia round -Sign ups-

You just called me antique..
Vote: Feysal

Naw. If it applied to humans, I'd be a fossil. When it comes to software, then it's antique. It still runs on my desktop computer today.

Oldest piece of software I have dates from 1984, but that one requires an emulator.

depending on how old you are, Feysal, is whether or not Leo calls you old. 30 is NOT old. 70, maybe. *I* consider it to be old, but not ancient, ya know? if you reach 60, you've had a pretty decent and long-ish life. you reach 90 and damn... then you REALLY had a a good long life! :D

but i doubt you are 90,m so there. :)

:coffee:

and Wiki, if he called YOU an antique, then im really ****ing "old" as i am older than you by a few months. :p

That's good, because I am 30.

My oldest living relative is 90. Bright. Active. Picture of good health. In his last visit to the doctor, his driver's license was extended by another 5 years.

When I spoke of antiques, I was of course speaking of software only. I find it incredible that a program 23 years old still runs on my machine. I've been a Macintosh user since the beginning, and I have a few relics from the early days. I had the original install discs for System version 1.0, in Swedish, since a Finnish translation did not exist yet. I never had the heart to throw them away, but I may have misplaced them, since I don't know where they are.

Oops, did I say install discs? There was only one 400 KB diskette, and that was the boot volume. There were other diskettes for applications and utilities, and you had to keep switching them around. Of course the system occasionally got confused, and kept juggling between diskettes... good times. May they never come back.

Re: The Vanilla (Ice) mafia round -Sign ups-

Thanks for adding me to the game.

How long does the signup thread usually stay up, a week, or just a couple days?

*super excited to play*

Oh, and Mara says he wants to mod the next game, and I'll be happy to mod after that. I've been working on a couple of ideas.

Re: The Vanilla (Ice) mafia round -Sign ups-

Sign-ups begin now and will end either Friday and start Saturday if we get enough members, or they could end Sunday and start Monday.

The answer to your question is, in other words, about a week.

And as for the next game after Mara... don't you think it's a bit early to be calling dibs? We'll see how these games turn out, and whether people still want to play some more after those.

Re: The Vanilla (Ice) mafia round -Sign ups-

Feysal--> omg, are diskettes those HUGE-*** flopply disk things that are about the size of a vinyl record? lol! def was not around during that time, but i have seen them on tv. yeah, that is ancient. i remember using floppy disks. i think i had just bought some cool looking ones for college or something else, a couple of years had passed and i get into my comp lit class for school (it was required). he said to get a flashdrive and im like "WTF is that?" sigh. flashdrives are awesome. ^_^ too bad i think mine has a virus on it.... maybe... and it had a couple of stories i was semi-working on and a couple of poems... but thank goodness my big project was not in there.
