Etdlahq Memorial Bar - your shelter from forum crashes

Hello. Tired, unsocialable and soon-to-be drunk Eddie here, once again mistaking the EMB for a blog-style daily to any barfly that'll listen.

Eddie is not my real name. Also, I changed my avatar. I like it a lot.

Did you know beer comes in 660ml bottles? I didn't. I bought some in the hope that I could be like JayTheRayGun with his secret stash of Uber-Beer, although it's still cheap German water at heart, just in a bigger receptacle.

I haven't played much D2 on my breaks from studying, I've been playing Killing Floor and CoD5. I finally saw the MP trailer for CoD6 (aka Modern Warfare 2) and all I can say is... It looks so pwn. Samantha is going to finish with me again, single life here I come.

The highlight of my day was (surprisingly) at work. It revolved around a Tunisian colleague and a Hungarian colleague using Borat-style broken English (on top of their own respective broken English) to insult each other's genitals and sexual preferences. It was really quite a spectacle to watch, even more so considering that this is in a tiny village in a rural part of England.

The downside of my day was (not surprisingly) at work: Samantha's best friend (a fellow 'manager') just keeps getting under my skin, more and more every shift, and then goes and 'tells' on me so I'm the bad guy. Part of the reason I'm chilling out with a few beers tomorrow.

Anyway, I'm not ignoring your Skypes, PMs and EMB replies, my mind will be a lot clearer at the end of the week.
when my heroin dealer moves out the neighbourhood.
Kidding.
I'll be on Steam if anyone needs me.

Ciao.

Nasty SPF people obliviously (malapropism) don't drink on a Sunday night.

Grr. How am I supposed to drunkenly spam if no-one posts a reply? Double post? Triple post? I may drink moar you know! [/empty threat] TBH this 2.64l of cheap European beer I've downed, albeit the best I've had in a while, is absolute naff. Besides, I can still spell malapropism...

[CBA drunken reasearch] What's the difference (if at all) between chauvanism (sp?) and misogynism (sp?)[/CBA drunken reasearch]

(NB: I only put sp marks becuz I are well drunkd. Normally I r grate spelr)

Lalala. Robot Chicken calls my name.

Well, you're way ahead of me, FE.

Eddie's not your real name? Jeez.

660mL bottles, huh. . . My uber-beer is 1 pint +6oz, or 22oz. . . what's that in mL? hold on . . . well, the mac says .650L, which is what, 650mL? Is that right? Anyways, Yum.

And I'm drinking 12oz (355mL) bottles, so I'm only ~600mL in.

I like the new avatar as well, FE: good choice!

And as to

If I may quote you, FE: Don't be so rude! I was cooking for and eating dinner with mominem! Jeez. No worries, though. I'll definitely be up for some spam shortly.

chauvanism v. misogynism. . . hum. Chauvanism is excessive loyalty to or prejudice toward something: can be patriotism, gender, local football, burritos, whatever. Misogyny is more of a hatred of than a prejudice toward/for, and only ever refers to men who hate women.

Enjoy the Robot Chicken. . . something's calling my name, but I'm not sure what. . . Oh! it's another beer!

Cheers, Eddie (or whatever your name is)! :guiness:

And nice going on the WoT's above! Good job!

What does this mean Drunk Eddie?

I feel disturbingly unproductive lately. And I feel down, because I don't get anything done in RL, and that makes me even more unproductive. It's the circle of life!!1 :hammerhead:

I'm reading that comment that when CoD6 is released he'll be focusing his love upon gaming rather than the lovely lady in his life. Don't worry, FastE, I know how you feel.

Indeed about feeling unproductive being a vicious circle. I used to get like that all the time. These days I basically don't ask too much of myself in a single day so I don't have too much to worry about. It's easier to deal with life when you lower your own standards. ...Is that sad?

Wish I coulda been around to spam with you, FastE. Next time, eh? We'll have a grand ol' time. :highfive:

edit: Oh, btw, that's a freaky picture of Hank Hill. Is that a stock picture, or did you manipulate it? I don't remember an episode of that, though I probably haven't seen 'em all.

I think I've come up with a new avatar. I like the one Gris made for me, but I'm ready to add my own flair again. I'll work on it in the next couple days.

[expletive deleted] me! I have the worst hangover. I invited my two RL BFFs over, we got wasted, played some DoD, some X360 and drunkenly debated aikido. Some of us passed out, some of us got two hours sleep and some of us stayed up all night. My friend took me to college so I can do a bit of work before catching three buses home later.

Yesh. This is correct Pijus.

I didn't do it myself. I found it on an ill-reputed message board. TBH I must've only seen about ten episodes of KotH when it was being shown at a decent time in England. I'm not a fan of Mike Judge's TV work (I really don't like Beavis and Butthead) but Office Space is one of *the best* films ever, and Idiocracy was good before it degenerated into slapstick farce rather than satirical social comment. I'm turning into a film critic again...

What's an Ashes?

Kidding. I just don't follow sport anymore.

The all-encompassing blanket that is my dissertation has felt like a rock at some time, yes.

Well, I should probably be showering/shaving in preparation for a pop down to the pub, but I'm really not in the mood for the pub. . . If I go, weird British dude might pay me off for the day I worked for him last week, but who knows if he'll 1) show up or 2) have the $$. And anyway, I like to beat the post-work rush, which means I'd need to leave in the next 15-20 minutes, yet weird British dude will likely not arrive until 9pm or later (it's ~5 now). Also, I suddenly have a fear of being stopped by the police on the way home, and when I have such fears, they tend to be prophetic, and I have 7 or so beers here, and there's a beer store just down the road. . .

Ok. Screw it! I'm staying in. I'll just have to wait and meet up with weird Brit some other time, or just chalk working for him last week to good-karma-style helping out a buddy. Groovy.

So I'll have a LongHammer, I guess.

The Bar at the bottom of page 2? This will not do!

So, I'll have another LongHammer, for sure. Stepdad is passed out in front of the tele, which features (currently) a TX Ranger Baseball game (meh).

I need to keep myself occupied until I can fall asleep in front of the tele, which will likely feature some old movie or crime drama rerun :D

Good Times!

*pops in casually*

*Serves Jamiesix a longhammer*

*looks at watch*

*runs off to work!*

- Well, didn't seem that nobody else was around:)

Next time change it to Ballet or something while he's sleeping. When he asks why you did it, tell him you were trying to culture him by osmosis (sp?)

Whoa...haven't been here in a while. Work has been keeping me busy with...well, work. None of the hard stuff today, as I'll have plenty this weekend at a fantasy football draft.

* pours a 44oz Mountain Dew, takes a gulp

Dew anyone?

Isn't osmosis the passing of stuff from one area to another due to different concentrations? Are you hoping Ballet will go inside James' stepdads brain? :D
