Etdlahq Memorial Bar - your shelter from forum crashes

Hey, I didn't try to help out... I SUCCEEDED! Seriously, check the link, even if it does nothing for you personally, consider it an insight into my quirky side. I have a Gridlok/AK1200 double album somewhere, didn't think much of it on first listen. I'll give it another go. If I can find some CV or other similar tracks, I'll PM you.

Sounds like WhatWillHisNameBeTodayGun had a good night knocking back the beer, hehe.

I'm in college with the missus, just took her for a pub lunch as a thank you for driving me here. Making good progress now I'm in a learning environment, hopefully that won't instantly disappear again tomorrow. I'm going to limit how much I browse the forums, and definitely not sign into Skype until this dissertation is done.

Whether that link was a spirit-lifter or a mere distraction... bravo! You're right; I do feel a little better. ...It might also have something to do with the fact that I'm eating for the first time today, that I did something minimally productive (sent payment for a bill), that my GF said I looked hot today when I clearly didn't, or that I'm a single act away from making a new Patriarch, too.

That song you linked made me think of Catching Butterflies With Hands. I just picture an uber old school grainy B&W cartoon of sunflowers on farmland bobbing and dancing to the music, with sheep, fowl, and a dog all playing ring around the rosey, sun shining and smiling down on everyone. Not as upbeat at ducks swimming in the water, but still has that kitcshy feel IMO.

Hmm, I don't know that double album, nor do I really know much of Gridlok besides the fact that he rolls in the same circles as AK, Dieselboy, Dara, Dylan... I'll have to look into that/him myself.

Hope your work goes really well today. Thanks for making me feel better. And I hope JayGun's hangover is considerably less than I presume it'll be.

I am a liar, though. . .

If you're a self-professed liar, then... I don't believe your lies! That means you're an upright citizen of the moral world. That makes your lies even less plausible, so in fact you're one of the most honest individuals I've ever met, liar liar pants on fire!!

edit: Since no one's posted ahead of me, I'll just edit in this stuff. Rant ahoy.

So yo, pancake! I hope you saw the Top Gear that was broadcast Monday night... 'cuz I want to know if you're as upset as me! The show itself was fine, if not a tad lackluster. I had never seen the episode before, so awesome. But the problem is that they were calling this a new series, when in fact it's an old series from years ago. Maybe it's the first time they've shown these episodes here in the U.S., but it's kind of stinky when they're showing old(er) cars and guests and you already know how it'll turn out (i.e., I knew the wheel was coming off their Suzuki as soon as I saw Trevor Eve, or how the KZ-07(?) was the 'breakout' car for Ascari when we've already seen a later model, the A-10). What made me shout, though, is that there's only six episodes! What a tease! There were more episodes of Fawlty Towers than that...

There's new episodes of Top Chef starting this week, though. Maybe that'll take my mind off of stuff.

I miss Zoddy. :(

I've done over 7K LK runs and my best rune is still a Pul (from the 300th run or so). The charms, jewels and gems have been great, but the lack of HRs is a little ridiculous.

p8 for the first thousand or so, then p3 for the rest. And 6 runs on p1 when I forgot.

@ TRM: Top Chef is actually a decent show. I can't stand Colicchio, but the trainwreck contestants really make the show. It's the reason I like American Idol. (The finalist train wrecks, not the Will Hung types. Producers can DIAF for drawing out the auditions for 195734631534 episodes every season.)

DIAF? Great! Now I have another abbreviation I have to figure out.

*scratches head*

Hello. Can't stop singing this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4qHX493bB3U

I love the SPF. Why would I want to leave? I locked myself out of my house and my mummy wakes herself up and lets me in. Loves it. Also... Wild Thing...

@FE: You make my heart sing. And I locked myself out of weird British dude's place today . . . luckily I was leaving anyway, and also lucky that one of the gates on the back fence was sans lock. . . I didn't want to scale and then jump from a 10 ft. (3 meter) and rickety wooden fence. Good times.

Just finished watching The Wrestler. . . EFFING AWESOME! I teared up no less than 8 times, and belly laughed at least 20 times. Jeez. Performance of a lifetime for Mickey Rourke, and Marisa Tomei totally rocks. Absolutely and with out question the best movie I've seen in awhile: highly recommended. (Though it is a Darren Arronofsky film inside and out, so skip it if you don't like his work.)

Cooking up some chicken parts for dinner (garlic, chili & curry powder: smells great) if anyone's interested, and I think a 60minute IPA will go pretty well with it, so . . .

I'll take a 60min, please.

A few dozen. I've already moved a few around in different stashes, and a few of them are on my characters (and some I've traded), so I don't know an exact number.

BTW, I'll be gone till the 29th or so. I'm flying to Vancouver tomorrow morning (so I might have internet access here and there at airports and such) and then going to a summer camp where I'm volunteering. No computer access. :D Have fun while I'm gone, everyone.

Well, at least that textual diatribe amused at least one person. Though I'd be interested to hear Pijus/ML/TRM/JayGun's thoughts on my list of weirdness, as well as the 'question asker' Mr LHTB.

Well, your stories are better than mine, here's a few dodgy ones:
  • some chavs stole my cap and ran off with it, idiots
  • someone threw coins at me
  • we once had to lock our doors to prevent an angry customer entering the store

And of course the "training" of a staff member in the staff toilets by a female manager

Heh heh... staff... staff training... "Shake hands"... heh heh... "Play dead"... it already knows how to beg...

My new D2 character looks like it's gonna suuuck...

I think I'm gonna go get some beers. ...So, gimme a beer.

*gives TRM a beer*

Can I have a coke please?

Sober season started, 3 weeks of drinking at least one beer per evening got me thinking. Going to be sober at least the rest of the year, but if I enjoy it (no reason why I wouldn't)), why not a lot longer?

How are you folks?

edit.

And by sober, I mean staying away from alcohol completely. Not a single drop of that Liquid Evil! :)

Thanks, Neks.

<One glass bottle o' Coca-Cola, ice cold. Sliding down the bar toward ya!>

Hmm, yeah, alcohol in excess can lead to some 'pour' ends. I'm in the group that thinks alcohol isn't all bad, but you just can't let it control you. A little bit never hurt anybody, IMO. Sadly, sometimes a little bit can lead to way too much, but that says more about the person than the alcohol.

Still! I support your convictions and I'm behind you! Something tells me L_E wouldn't want to be shut out like that, though...

You never really told us many details from your vacation, did you? We'd love to hear it.

As for me, well... tired, sick of waiting for a shoe to drop at work, I'm pushing through D2 with a horrible character, and I'm missing my GF like crazy. BUT. I've got a few beers, I've got plenty of TV, I've got some comfort food in house, and I've got the SPF. What more do I need? I might have liked a few more responses to my last Pat thread, but it's all good; one compliment is more than it deserved. Thanks for asking!

@Neksja : That the right way, all way on the hightway or slow play! I have one month of soberness to celebrate with an infinite amount of energy drinks this saturday!

*slides Neksja a Coke*

EDIT : *slides Neksja another Coke*

Haha, I just time-stomped ya, Megs!

Everyone loves an attentive bartender. ...Hey, where's my tip?!

Hey FastE, you been back to work at Samantha's father's bar yet? Or has school work got you too focused?

edit: AWWWWW!!!! The cutest girl on Top Chef was the first one to go! She looked like the little sister of my best friend back home, and I had been crushing on her for years. It's one of the reasons I left Maine in the first place. :scared:
