Ribcracker Fury Druid - Uber Killer Guide

Re: Ribcracker Fury Druid - Uber Killer Guide

I'm not looking to strictly make him my uber runner. I'm just wondering what I could improve on overall, **** he's fun just to play and clear out mobs. I guess the most important thing to do is to get an upped ribby..

Yes there are numerous topics on PI's but I'm wondering what other fury druids use.
I could see a few variations.
Baranar's/tiamat's rebuke
lightsabre/""
gimmershred/""
lacerator/?
death's toll

Re: Ribcracker Fury Druid - Uber Killer Guide

my experience is that anything with elemental will do. If you're dealing with PIs then they'res not that many of them.

Re: Ribcracker Fury Druid - Uber Killer Guide

Azure Wrath. There ya go :).

Also, for general PvMing your setup is fine.

Re: Ribcracker Fury Druid - Uber Killer Guide

How is druid's hunger compared to smite?

I can't help imagining a level 20 hunger will leech enough life to stay alive while crushing blow blows up the enemy.

Please correct me before I go ahead and do something stupid.

Re: Ribcracker Fury Druid - Uber Killer Guide

Well it might against Diablo and Baal. Meph is leech immune though

I completely depend on my merc and his reapers toll to deal with PI. He doesnt tank alone, though. I'll use the grizzly to distract mobs while he lights them up with decrepify. There are things that even decrep cant break, and for those i'll either leave them and run away, or fetch my baranar star from my storage and tough it out. Very rare though.

Hm...
I think I recall 150% leech actually leeching from leech immunes before... but...
...
...

I'll test out in singleplayer versus ghosts...
...
...
Edit...
That failed miserably due to ghosts beeing immune to physical...
Going for meph...
...
...
Edit II...
That failed miserably too...
Myth busted.

Damn.
Someone remind me why I should use a druid with +200% life instead of a paladin again?
Oh.
Hm...
+300% defense versus +300% life + Second Chance (TM)...
...
...

ARGH..!
I want to play a druid that beats my paladin at ubers..!

I was thinking of shaeling a lacerator and use it on switch. I might use a ebotdGPA and lacerator/ss combo..

Re: Ribcracker Fury Druid - Uber Killer Guide

In cases of pi, an immediate switch to atma's scarab might do the trick, if it weren't for the fact that it is equally as likely you cast life tap. Anyway, you can also use Demon's Limb.

Re: Ribcracker Fury Druid - Uber Killer Guide

Azure Wrath >.>

'Nuf said.

Re: Ribcracker Fury Druid - Uber Killer Guide

Even if Azurewrath is a ladder-only weapon, you can still trade for it in non-ladder (or maybe if you've got one from an old ladder season). And Demon Limb is REALLY slow, no IAS at all. Baranar's Star would be better than Demon Limb.

OMG, what makes you think I use Demon's Limb as a weapon? I use it to prebuff the level 23 Enchant to my druid, merc and bear.

And again, I don't do ladder.

Re: Ribcracker Fury Druid - Uber Killer Guide

I got a 90 Ribcracker fury druid. I pretty got everything in terms of gear for it.
- Upped 293 shael'ed RC
- 198% Upp'ed um'ed jalal's
- 20res mara
- Coh ap
- 31/12% dungo
- 10ll/13str dracul's
- 20 dex 215ap ravenfrost
- 7% manald heal
- 4% LL bk ring
- 196% non upped gores
- 11/17 dtorch
- anni(low on everything but 9% xp, blah)
- no shapeshift gc though, but got variety of fine/sharp large/gc etc, 3res all sc and 5res all sc. also 12fhr/52ap gc
- got some prebuff items also like a 4bo cta/spirit/demon limb, and even a last wish pb(got it from a friend for free), i just use LW for fade obviously, life tap charge wand for uber meph also

All 3 of the mini ubers were fairly easy, even Lilith seemed like a breeze, I just went in and unloaded a flurry, my health dropped fast but due to the speed and Life Tap kicking in early off Drac's, it was back and forth but she died fast, duriel is a joke, and izual is the same, the only thing scary about izzy's place is the IM, but for the most part I actually use LW/shield since it has low damage so IM won't mess me up.

Although I finally ran my first uber tonight, I was successful, but at a price, died twice, 1 to meph, another to baal. It seems that even with OW off gore/drac's, baal regens health oddly fast, his health also dropped down fairly slow, took at least 3-4 minutes of fury/feral rage just to drop the guy. Meph pretty much ambushed me when I entered the portal, I miscasted my Life Tap on his minions instead of him, while I panic and shapeshifted and in turn I died(despite my merc/bear/spirit being fodder) really quick since my lifetap didn't hit him. Diablo is easy though, he went down the fastest with little resistance, his pitlord summons are fun to leech for that extra health. Meph was easy one I got Life tap and chugging 16 antidote pots in advance for him though. Baal's knockback didn't affect me since I was backed into a wall, just I'm not sure why it took me so long to kill him. I have enough CB and I figure the standard amount of OW, along with a rabies once per minute along with a little bonus poison off pdsc's.

. . . It seems that even with OW off gore/drac's, baal regens health oddly fast . . .
This happens to me too always when Baal gets below ~10%life. I swapped out my mana leech ring with a Nature's Peace and he would still regen life. I can only assume that this is a bug or that it is intentionally done to increase the difficulty.

Re: Ribcracker Fury Druid - Uber Killer Guide

Nice guide, made me want to try it too, have a almost perf (299% ED :steam: ) eth Ribcracker lying around, and for that, I got a few questions:

is that 'Cracker good with Zod, or should I get myself noneth?
does Torch destroy UT completely with the Firestorm ability? was wondering that can I manage to do it without the Torch, so I can pick up the unid one right after, and then wouldn't have to change char :whistling: or does it become too ''hard'' to do it without it? <-- (maybe nooby, but hey, nobody knows everything;) )

this is for PvM also, gonna go through hell alone, if it helps :P

and btw, for the small CoH debate about AP or dusk, shouldn't you use Dusk for it? :scratchchin: more life, since you get str needed for Dungo, and don't have to pump it like to AP, and then have 20 "unneeded" str-points?

Re: Ribcracker Fury Druid - Uber Killer Guide

In order:

Zodded Ribby is fine though non eth is perferred.

Torch is not a make or break for running. It helps with resists though so you'd have to make that up somewhere else.

AP versus Dusk: With Druids crappy LPV the extra strength needed for AP's not a big deal.

thanks for the answer, decided to go with torch (bought myself 15/20 druid T), but forgot to add 1 question (knew something were lacking :banghead:)

is oak better for PvM, or should I go with HoW? I know it won't survive trist, but would be nice add when I play other PvM

Re: Ribcracker Fury Druid - Uber Killer Guide

Depends on if you want life or damage. I normally do Oak due to my HC genes >.>.
