There is a question buried in here. It's about equipment sell prices.
So. In the likely case that you don't care about the "who random poster #3767278 is" stuff, I'll keep it to necessary background: I'm a longtime casual player (only 1 char ever finished NM, and he was pretty useless in Hell) whose experience with the game has been largely limited to a dozen or so abandoned SP characters and helping my wife, who is a certifiable D2 addict in her own way, but has no clue about building a character (She took a Barb to late Act 2 Normal with equal distribution of stat points and zero skill use before I intervened...)
Anyway, she's a little more sophisticated now and has been playing a lot more since the D3 announcement, and I've been trying to explain to her the almost game-breaking usefulness of Magic Find, and in doing so made up an early-game plan for ramping up MF using socketed equipment and topazes, to run various early bosses for things like Chance Guards, Goldwrap, etc. After a Google search brought up the (excellent) "Guide to Untwinked, Single-pass, early game Magic Finding" here I realized that I'd largely (and rather poorly) reinvented the wheel, which prompted me to put my plan into action myself for a change (with a few now-obvious modifications for speed...ask me about Normal Andariel's chance to drop a Nagelring sometime. Or two of them with 25+ Magic Find. Due to not knowing about cubing rings and amulets. Like I said, noob here). Having found and made some decent early-game MF gear, and using the true lazy man's build, I think I'm ready to take a character to Patriarch.
Anyway, blah. I have a (probably noobish) question, if anyone made it through all that: What random drops should I be keeping to maximize gold per inventory square? Or, more specifically, is there somewhere I can find a list of sell price ranges for white equipment to save some testing time (Google just vomits "legit d2 ladder itamz for $$$" sites)?
I mean, I obviously keep anything green or gold for muling off and packratting purposes (don't ask), but a lot of blues and yellows aren't really worth the inventory space to carry back to town (12 for that rare Katar? Fitting reward for, you know, CROSSING HELL TO DEFEAT THE LORD OF TERROR *twitch*).
Also, hello, diii.net. ¬.¬
